I wonder Why, in recent days/weeks we have been experiencing so many "Invisible Cars" when events are setting up to start? Not just Sundays, but practice sessions as well.

Div-5 spent a lot of time and effort last night trying to make sure that everyone was able to participate. A tribute to all members and to RacingChamp for his patience and persistence.

It is very difficult to exclude a member(s) from the night, if they cannot see certain cars. Umpires/Officials are used to making those calls, most of us are not so distinctly gifted.

We finally finished the evening's agenda, but it was far later than the usual finishing time.

Speaking of Umpires ......... I have a situational call concerning a particular circumstance I faced twice during my "increasingly fading from memory" career as only a ballplayer.

The batter hits a ball straight up, and the ball is descending directly into the batter's box or home plate area.
1) Is the batter allowed to just remain in the batter's box and not run toward 1st base? (thus interfering with the catcher)
2) What are justifiable actions by the catcher to remove the batter so as to catch the popup?

As a former catcher, shoulder the batter out of the way and make the catch. The batter is being rude and unsportsmanlike and should be called for interference. Don't know what the rules are nowadays though.

I would hazard a guess that if these invisible cars issues were logged with the names of the drivers that are involved, we would see the same names show up in that log on a repeated bases. There is some issue with some driver's connections that prohibits them from seeing or being seen by other drivers. It could be anything from using wifi to incorrect port forwarding to a network issue somewhere between two drivers.

A batter / runner or runner may not do anything to interfere with a fielders ability to catch a fair or foul fly ball or field a fair ground ball. That's not right out of the rule book. The section in the rule book is spread out over a few different places and is much longer but that is the gist of it. The penalty is that the batter / runner or runner would be called out unless, in the umpires judgement, the interference is intentional or there is an attempt at a double play. In those two situations, there are other penalty options.

As for the second part of you question. The catcher would have the legal right to make the play so he really wouldn't need to do anything out of the ordinary to make the play. Once he was interfered with, the play should be called dead and an out declared.

Why would a batter sit in the box there is always an opportunity that the catcher will miss the catch Ex:

Thanks for the video - amazing how you guys find these things.
Both of my experiences - I pushed the batter out of the box to make the catch. Of course he/they didn't care to be treated that way. Difficulty followed both events.

....true or not? Found this but neeever saw it  ..... @Dragonwhisky

Why? To be a richard noggined penile implant. Thought that woulda' been pretty obvious.

And @STEAMER62 , while I do like me some chocolate and am well known for my penchant for sizzlin' pig, I would no more mix the two, the same as I would not mix my Uisge Beatha with my Pepsi Cola. In my world, those are capital offenses of the moist heinous variety, punishable by 50 lashes with wet noodles, soaked in sheep dip.

Even if those M&Ms are a hoax, it makes me shudder to think of.

If you ever do find them, you're welcome to my share.

Just had chance to watch this. Some serious cojones to take what is likely an easy +$25,000,000 car through a winding mountain pass. Thats what dreams are made of. Great video.
The car is his. The driver is Derek Hill son of Phil Hill who both owned and raced that GTO. Derek is an accomplished racer and nice guy.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - MINI Cooper 1.3i '98 (Comfort: Medium) at Red Bull Ring Short Track (9 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @richroo wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - BMW Z4 GT3 '11 (Racing: Hard) at Suzuka Circuit 2014 (5 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @Matt Sierras gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @JLBowler so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

I have a minor grievance. I wish you would think about and possibly extend the time allotted for IR Report Submissions. I didn't get the chance till late tonight to start filing and I missed filing the last one by a minute. BOOOOOO. LoL

Currently tracking 23 Incident Reports
We have at least one prize winner with a racing incident being investigated by the stewards. This may, obviously, change the order of the prizes to be selected.
The target deadline for the Steward Reviews, this week, is Wednesday night by 10PM Eastern. The Steward Summary will be posted as soon as possible, following completion of reviews.
:@: SNAIL Stewards, please make your way to The Incident Review Scoring.
The IR Submission Form is now closed.

The prize A winner is confirmed. @richroo is the official prize A winner. Since he has already won prize A this month, his division will get to suggest one prize A idea each for him to choose from. If you raced in D6 on Sunday, you may make one and only one suggestion for prize A. Do so by posting in the main thread. Only make one suggestion and use the full car and track name when doing so. You will have until 11 PM ET on Tuesday to make a suggestion. At that time @richro will have until 11 PM ET on Wednesday night to choose from the suggestions.

@Rob Brown @TBongX @pubason @Matthew Barry @basswerks1 @STEAMER62 @polygrizz @chevy_usa1101 @cliff eden @Alex ONeill @BustedFoSho

The prize B (@Matt Sierras ) winner and prize C (@JLBowler ) winner should refrain from making any selections at this time.
