If your suspension was that loose that it threw you forward like that you would loose your mind! I still want the rig though :)

The movement is supposed to make it feel like the car is placing forces on you through turns, braking and acceleration. If you could just focus on the screen in front of you it might seem somewhat realistic. Probably would be best if it was in an enclosed dark space so you didn't have any outside spacial references.

The most difficult force to simulate is the acceleration, when your body gets pushed into the seat. It's pretty difficult to fit something so that it presses you into the seat, so what Red Bull (or Ferrari) did for their F1 simulator is they made a long rail, and when you accelerate the whole simulator moves back and when you brake the simulator moves in front.

You all seem to be getting into the groove and improving!

My coach says these type of rigs are nothing like the forces in real life. May be expensive, but garbage. I've never driven a car so I don't know how accurate this is.
This with an Occulus Rift might change his mind... But yeah the forces are a fraction of the real thing because you're limited to what gravity can give you. I've always wanted to try one out to see what it's like.

Mazda had one of these at the New York Auto Show when I went last year. You got a single lap in an MX-5 cup car around Laguna Seca. The thing moves too much. I couldn't get control of everything through the turns. Plus it was either fake sequential like the DFGT or H-Gate with clutch and it was serious business (people were stalling and whatnot) so so I went with the sequential and made a fool of myself.

Real racing they always bump and run. It's their nice way of saying "hey, I'm faster than you". Usually the leading car takes notice and leaves room. Corvette was basically saying "excuse me, pardon me, coming through" and came through before finishing the sentence lol.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Pagani Zonda LM Race Car (Racing: Medium) at Mid-Field Raceway / Forward (11 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @Alex ONeill wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Amuse/Opera Performance GRAN TURISMO 350Z RS (Sports: Medium) at Apricot Hill Raceway / Forward (7 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @leadfootedbud gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @JLBowler so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

Currently tracking 17 Incident Reports
We have at least one prize winner with a racing incident being investigated by the stewards. This may, obviously, change the order of the prizes to be selected.
The target deadline for the Steward Reviews, this week, is Wednesday night by 10PM Eastern. The Steward Summary will be posted as soon as possible, following completion of reviews.
:@: SNAIL Stewards, please make your way to The Incident Review Scoring.
The IR Submission Form is now closed.

The prize A winner, @Alex ONeill is clear to make a selection. All other potential prize winners will have to wait for the stewards to review some IRs.

ROC Logo.png

The SNAIL Race of Champions thread has been created. Make your way there and have a look.

We mentioned that we need volunteers. You will see that we need two stewards at every ROC. One to be host and the other to assist. Stewards will not race. They help each other to make sure the drivers are following the rules and the night is running smooth.

We will train people that are interested. We will need more than two people because of availability and some of the trained stewards might qualify for the race and that will make the steward duties difficult.

I'm thinking to do some testing on Thursday night at 9:30 pm EST. So if you are interested, please join the ROC Testing Room on Thursday night. (instead of official practice)

Our first event is Friday. So, their is not much prep time.

rednose you should grab some more reserved post in the ROC just in case you find a need.

And I am willing to steward.

Edit: Also can we get burnt guy in on this to post to you tube maybe even get him to steward. or one of the other who do a live feed.

Sustained lateral g's would be difficult for the same reason. I imagine it would take a pretty good amount of space to that all off.

Just one last announcement of the RCS reunion. To all interested in a 40 min race with pits and tight opponents look no further. Pm me or like this post and I can get you added to the conversation ASAP. The day is still undetermined but is being sorted out by all involved for the biggest grid.

DONT DELAY THE RACE ISNT THAT FAR AWAY!!!
