We all have that car from our past. The one that wish we hadn’t gotten rid of. I think about it every once in a while. Would love to hear other people’s experiences as well.

Now onto the car that I stupidly let go of. In late December 2018, I purchased a 2008 Acura TSX 6-speed manual. It was purchased after a got a job driving and figured the E39 530i I had was starting to demand more attention than I could afford. The Acura had everything, even the mid-2000s navigation system. I absolutely loved the way the K24 revved to 8500 so freely and how much of an occasion it felt to drive. I put Tein coilovers on it shortly after I bought it and bought the JDM taillights so I could have amber turn indicators instead on the red US ones. I had the TSX paid off for a month before I was rear ended at a stoplight by a Touareg. Every time I see one now, I wish it had not been totaled.

And now some photos

How it ended.:(

Always wanted a TSX back when they first came out. Bought other Hondas instead. Took me 19 years and a move to Australia to finally own one today. ;)

Why, man? Why why why make this thread? 😭

I shouldn't have sold all the cars I bought. Probably my 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass 'S' w/455 12-bolt rear, column shift and bench seats hurts the most. Sold it when I moved to Australia and then found out one of my brother's-in-law could have imported it for me through the company he worked for. :(

Volvo C30 R-Design with the Polestar tune on it. I absolutely loved it but it was so impractical for where I lived at the time since it couldn't drive in snow:

I also really miss my Tacoma that I had too, but it didn't make sense to try to cart a newborn baby around in it.

This one's pretty much it, or maybe the 98 I had before that one, or the 97 that got stolen/cut up. 20 years ago they weren't worth much, I picked that one up for like, 12k CAD and sold it for like, 16k a few years down the line.

Close second would be the S2000.

Staying on theme

The RSX-S was a lot of fun. Absolutely screamed at the top end, and very practical. But I'm not sure I'd have the ITR if not for having sold it so it's hard to second guess. I miss it though. I also miss this one:

I loved that one. But I told myself that if I were going to keep an accord it would be a 6 cyl. I still think that, but now I don't have one because of it.

How many cars can you keep though?

I think I'd buy a CRX before rebuying either of those though. And a prelude (mostly just so I could call it the 'lude). And a civic. And a civic del sol.

I didn't sell it as it was a company car, but mine would be my Toyota Celica (ZZT230), loved the way it drove and still love the look of them to this day.

This is such a sad thread 😭

Words cannot express the foolishness of such act of letting go the one(s)

Just remembered another one.

My Nissan Primera 2.0e GT, mildly tuned with clutch and brake upgrades and a full NISMO exhaust system. That thing was wonderful.

I did look at those when I was looking at TSXs as well. We got the Infiniti badged version instead, but I could never find a decent one for sale. They were always trashed and abused.

I replaced the TSX with a MK7 GTI, which I don't miss as much as the Acura, but it was a fun experience to have. I do miss the cargo room that my current 128i certainly doesn't have.

I fell in love with the 7th gen Celica after seeing it in Gran Turismo 3. My dad uses a 1ZZ 5 speed to commute to work. We’ve had it for a while and it has many problems from previous neglect so my dad is thinking of selling it. It burns oil, leaks coolant, the power steering system is noisy and heavy in the cold, and there are many other problems but it keep on running. It probably would be harder to part with if I didn’t have a 2ZZ Matrix.
