Is there anyone here that can do a video capture of about 5-6 mins of a replay I have? I don't have a way to do that with ps3

I can offer some shells for the time....

What happens when my penalty knocks me out of first? I want the prize A recipient to have a little extra time to think about their pick

Idk if you get much more immersed than sitting a foot away from the TV like @Ricky_Blayz ;)

Also, I hope you're not taking offense to a little ribbing that's not even directed towards you. Because your whole "I choose to use my time on a nice setup and doing work to run the league. If I took all that time and put it into practice, I would be much faster." rant sure seems like it.

If we ran together you'd know I'm a very sarcastic guy, but that doesn't translate well over the internet. m80.

The nice setups help with immersion. Practice will make you faster. I choose to use my time on a nice setup and doing work to run the league. If I took all that time and put it into practice, I would be much faster.

I agree, we spend a lot of time interacting with this game in one way or another the setup designed around what we want helps.

Steward Update

The stewards have completed enough reviews to confirm prize winners for this week. They are as follows:

Prize A: @Grandpa Money
Prize B: @Matthew Barry
Prize C: @msgt-sd

Since Grandpa Money has already won Prize A this season, anyone who raced in D3 will be allowed to make one and only one suggestion in the main thread for Prize A. Please list the full in game name of the car and the track you are suggesting. Only make one suggestion. If a driver makes multiple suggestions or changes their original suggestion by editing their post (changes for spelling errors are allowed), all of their suggestions will be disallowed. Drivers will have until 11 PM ET on Wednesday to make their suggestion. At that point, Grandpa Money will have until 8PM ET on Thursday to choose from those suggestions.

Matthew Barry is on the clock as well and can go ahead use or pass the freeze. Please post it again and tag msgt-sd in that post so he is aware.

That wasn't a rant and I'm not taking offense to anything that has been said on the topic. My statement was just a statement of fact about how I spend my time. The surround sound, the seat, the position of the monitor, and the buttkicker all add to the immersion for me and it does take time to get that just right. Working on the stuff to keep SNAIL running takes time as well.

Since everyone is showing their race room/rig/man cave I figured I'd show mine. I get a room to myself but it's so packed there is only room for maybe 3 people total.

Here's my "rig". I posted it awhile ago and not much has changed except how/where I sit. It's certainly nothing like what you guys have but it gets it done. Eventually I'd like a more dedicated place but right now it's not possible with where things are. I have to move my coffee table over to bring my chair up. I can't move that kind of rig around.

Couldn't agree with you more. ;)

3 step ladder with a 2x4 to keep it from folding. lol that's ridiculous.

Been there done that.....I never grow tired of seeing what form the love of racing takes. All that matters is that it does the job !...oh...and that there is a smile on your face!👍

I would love to race at Fuji GT! I've been hot lapping there with different cars to see what's fun and I really like the faster layout on the back end.

F1 Qualifying – Proposed Change

The idea to change the format of qualifying came from the FIA and is an attempt to increase unpredictability.

A decision on whether to adopt it this year could be made in the next week or so after the idea has been fully analyzed.

It was approved in principle, with the intention of introducing it this year, but the teams have gone away to analyze the potential impact.

There will still be a three-part qualifying session but the plan is to adapt it as follows:

Q1 will last for 16 minutes

The slowest driver is eliminated after seven minutes

Then one will go every 90 seconds until seven drivers are out

Q2 will last for 15 minutes

The slowest driver will be eliminated after six minutes

Then one will go every 90 seconds until the end of the session

That leaves eight drivers in final qualifying.

Q3 will last for 14 minutes

The slowest driver will be eliminated after five minutes

Then one will go every 90 seconds until there are two drivers left

There will then be a final 90-second shoot-out for pole position

It is worth noting that the final elimination in each session occurs when the relevant drivers pass the chequered flag, not when time is up.

BBC Link

My Comments/questions:

1. Looks like they still plan to have a break between the sessions as the minutes only count up to 45 minutes.
2. Tire choices and in-session changing will be interesting.
3. Wonder if pole position will be based on the fastest time during Q3 overall or the fastest time in the 90 seconds shoot-out between the last two drivers? If it is the latter, I would say the strategy is to go flat out in the first 5 minutes to secure top two spots and then make sure you have fresh tires right before the start of the last 90 seconds to make sure you out gun the other guy.

All I know is that the teams will quickly figure it out what the best strategy is going to be and I hope it doesn't turn out to be another boring process.

Pole is still going to be faster time in Q3.

I say this is cool and all, but the main problem (impossible to follow closely and not enough racing together) is still not only not solved, but looking at the new regs for 2017, probably going to get worse... It's frustrating....

The qualy format sounds very complicated to me... Adding to that, I remember something about a rules change in the tyre selection for the weekend. I'm going to watch the races and qualy, but honestly if I'm not paying attention, I'm going to get lost at what is going on with all this rules nonsense.

So for qualy, I'm guessing the faster cars are going to fit the softest tyres available do a couple of laps, then get in and wait for the others to be eliminated. Q3 is going to be interesting thou

That format looks to me to attempt to address 2 things, get every car on the friqqin' track when the session opens, then get the slower folks off the track and out of the way of the faster teams. None of this waiting 'til the last 5 minutes to let the track rubber in and traffic patterns to favor you. Get the hell out there and hit your marks or be gone.

I may have to stop drinking while watching, may be too hard to follow after a few pints!!
