FUN FACTS

1...The Toyota Vitz is the successor to the popular Toyota Starlet and is sold in over 70 different countries. It has different names for different regions. It is commonly known as the Vitz in Japan where as most other markets including North America it is known as the Yaris. The first generation Vitz was sold as the Toyota Echo in Canada.
In 2017 the Toyota Yaris will make its competition debut in the WRC ( World Rally Championships )

2... The Alfa Romeo 155 was released in January 1992 in Barcelona as the replacement for the Alfa 75 and was one of Alfa Romeo's most successful racing cars ever. It won the Italian, German, Spanish and British touring car championships with the likes of Fisichella, Nicola Larini, Adrian Campos and Gabriele Targuini.

3... Carroll Shelby ( Cobra inventor ) was one tough hombre' ... In 1955, he co-drove the 12 hours of Sebring with a hand that was so badly broken they had to make a special fiberglass cast, then tape it to the steering wheel just so he could steer the car!

The first driver to ever shake up a bottle of champagne and spray everyone in Victory Lane was Ford GT40 driver Dan Gurney. Guess who was standing right next to him whispering in his ear? That old fox Shelby of course.

Fun Fact: Before champagne became the accepted norm for podium celebrations, it was milk. Ordinary good old fashioned milk.

But why? Because it calmed (and literally cooled) you down after that adrenaline pumping experience of racing. The more you know.

But honestly, I don't think anyone doesn't like milk unless they're lactose-intolerant. Wait... What if a F1 driver was lactose-intolerant and got onto the podium DP? :P

1993 Indy winner Emerson Fittipaldi drank orange juice instead and was considered a "villain" in racing circles lol.

From Wikipedia:
The race saw him break Indianapolis victory lane tradition when he drank a celebratory bottle of orange juice instead of the traditional bottle of milk. He was only the second driver to not drink milk at Indianapolis since the tradition was founded in 1936 (and firmly established in 1956). Fittipaldi owned several orange groves in his native Brazil, and wanted to promote the citrus industry. He was widely criticized and ridiculed for the action, even though he later took a sip of milk after the television cameras were off.

Fan reaction to the milk snub was highly negative, and he was booed a week later at Milwaukee. In the years that followed, many fans continued to hold the action against him. In interviews since, Fittipaldi explained his action, and apologised for the wave of negativity that followed. Fittipaldi returned to Indianapolis to drive the Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car for the 2008 Indianapolis 500. Despite coming clean, he was again booed and heckled by some fans during the Public Drivers' Meeting.

A real shame for a man who had already won the World Championship twice to be harassed over a petty tradition. Sure, it's a bit cheesy that he took the opportunity to sefishly promote his business interests, but then he had just won the Indy 500 fair and square - he can drink what he wishes.

Good history information, thanks Paddy and Penguin.

If I win this weekend, It won't be milk or champagne I'll be drinking...good luck to all, it should be a fun set of races.

Why is it that when working on a new car... Step 1: take apart the entire 🤬 front clip, I just want to change a :censored:headlight bulb!
My 1970 Camaro. Step one...get screwdriver go to front of car, remove headlight.
Step 2...3 minutes later sit back with a cold beer and admire your "censor" free handy work.
It's all about this new age consume and throw away market.

ChumpCar update from Circuit of the Americas. Yesterday we finished 3rd on class out of 12 and 23rd of 106 overall. The 2 cars that beat us in class were 1st and 4th overall. We all ran pretty close consistent laps without any issues. We had a friend of my cousin race with us and he has close to 400 laps at COTA between racing and DE's, so it was very helpful to get some tips from him. He went 3rd of the 5 of us, I went last. His best lap was a 2:54.3x. In the final 2 stints we were dealing with a hot car, oil temp and water temp. Go figure, as it's over 100 here with a heat index over 110.

After we were assured of 3rd place, I slowed down quite a bit to save the car. I did manage a 2:54.9x, however.

So far today we started off very well, 4th in class and 32nd overall with our slowest driver out first, but he had to serve a 6 minute penalty for passing under yellow. That put us back 30 places. Currently we are 6th in class and 4th overall, but moving up.

I'll post more last and add video and pictures when I return to NY on Monday. Updates on Krueger Tuned Racing on Facebook with love timing on Race-monitor.com.

Hey so I have a little inquiry on selling my G27. And wondered how much other people got it they sold a G27.
My wheel is from this year after I got a replacement.
It has all the parts no damages on the cord.

These few days I've been having really really bad internet, speedtest shows it's fine, but I know that compared to before it has gone from utter bullcrap to terrible horrible high-levels of unusable cancer. Any tips? God I wish I had fiber internet here in this crappy town.
