So the last few weeks ive showed up with the minimum of practice, barely getting my cars painted before start time and boy does it show. Ive gone from somewhat competent to a complete embarrassment. Im going to have to find ways to squeeze some extra time in before race night before i get super demoted to D5 all by myself so no one has to deal with my various off track excursions or random braking points from not being familiar enough with the combos. Apologies to anyone i have annoyed with that.

Well said, Whitey - I have the same circumstances and emotions.

Thank you for letting me "copy & paste" your message as coming from me to those in Div-3 this summer.

I really wanted to race last night myself. But ended up spending most of the day at my mom's garage tearing the front end of my 300 apart to locate an annoying noise.

Once it was all torn down, we did the struts on both sides, oil, and plugs. Only to find out! Dun dun dun... We can't see much of anything on the back side of the motor and it needs to go onto a rack to see if it is the inner tie rod bushings or the rack and pinion itself that is making the noise.. If it turns out to be the bushings that is a simple enough fix and manageable to get to albeit a quite uncomfortable fit for your arms to be in. If it is the rack that needs to be replaced that will be a $1000 shop bill because you have drop the K frame or pull the motor to get it out. Which just sounds exhausting to me. 🤬

See yall tonight for some Pack Racing and throughout the week for various testing and practices!

P.S. If you're in the Michigan area or northern Ohio/Indiana range I highly suggest coming to Kalamazoo Speedway for the 24th running of the Kalamazoo Klash on Wednesday night. $25 to get in, has been voted as the #1 Outlaw Super Late Model event in the Nation and top 5 for short track races to attend by Circle Track Magazine! See y'all there.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Toyota Vitz F '12 (Comfort: Medium) at Matterhorn Riffelsee (6 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @Drewspeed wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI '93 (Sports: Soft) at Mid-Field Raceway / Reverse (9 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @src_ej6 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @singlepaddy so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Currently tracking 10 Incident Reports
We have at least one prize winner with a racing incident being investigated by the stewards. This may, obviously, change the order of the prizes to be selected. All winners are asked to refrain from making selections until the Weekly Steward's report has been posted.
The target deadline for the Steward Reviews, this week, is Wednesday night by 10PM Eastern. The Steward Summary will be posted as soon as possible, following completion of reviews.
:@: SNAIL Stewards, please make your way to The Incident Review Scoring.
The IR Submission Form is now closed.

Those who are potentially prize winners will be included in a conversation in which they will be given instructions and deadlines that they must follow to maintain they prize eligibility for the week.

D2 Data for 08/07/16 complete.

Congrats to @Ph1sher whose strong performance on the night landed him 5 podium finishes including 3 wins. He also achieved 2 poles and 5 fastest laps. If he had been eligible for prizes a Prize A would have been his this week but I'm sure it won't be long before he's fighting for them in D1! ;)

Edit: Just an interesting little comparison between D1 and D2 this week. If you look at race 1 for the first 2 combos the total race times are remarkably similar.

Combo 1:

D1 time - 11:16.496
D2 time - 11:16.442

Combo 2:

D1 time - 11:01.772
D2 time - 11:01.721

So the D2 total race times are quicker by a massive .054 of a second in race 1 and .051 in race 2!

Looking at combo 3 it's not quite as close and D1 takes the honours with its total time of 10:52.973 being 3.279 seconds quicker than the D2 time.

Anybody up for a 2016 Labor Day Endurance Race similar to last year?

The date will be Sunday September 4, 2016

For those who remember (or not), here is:

Make your way to the Holiday Event Discussion here to start talking about it.

Does that mean it will be at suzuka again as well?

Prize Selection Update

The stewards have completed enough reviews to confirm the prize winners for this week.

Prize A: @src_ej6
Prize B: @Drewspeed
Prize C: @singlepaddy

All prize winners have replied to the conversation that was started and all prize winners are on the clock as of right now.

On a side note, there is a very good chance that something is going to happen this week that I don't recall ever happening in SNAIL. We will have to wait and see if it happens but if I had to guess, I would say it's probably about a 99% certainty. When / if it happens, very few SNAILs will even know about it.

COTA was awesome. The team did very well and we all raced well too. We finished 3rd of 12 in our class and 23rd overall out of 100 cars on Friday. On Saturday, we were 6th in class of 14 and 31st of 89. We all raced better on Saturday, but apparently, so did everyone else. We completed 137 laps on Friday and 141 on Saturday.

Here one of my faster laps from Saturday, the fastest I had video from. I had a best lap of 2:54.800 on Saturday and 2:54.962 on Friday. This lap is a 2:55.970, with forward and rear facing cameras.

Will we get our very own free Ferrari LaFerrari? :P

Desert Penguin will like everyone's picks? :odd:

This is very intriguing. SNAIL has knocked out quite a few "firsts" in the last four and a half years. I'm struggling to think what it might be. No $hells for correct guesses? No hints? Was it your intent to drive an old, fat, one eyed man nuts this morning? Yer killin' me J.

Close race this weekend! Got my first win on saturday, and a bunch of close racing sunday! Check out the race on youtube, it's a real barn burner!

Hey Techies and non - techies.

I have an issue with my PS3 80 gig. The output resolution has defaulted to 720 x 480 which makes it just a dark blank screen.

This has happened before but it has auto-corrected when it detects the HDMI cable. For some reason, this is not happening now. I do get all the sound but no video.

This started yesterday because my son probable swapped the HDMI cables from one TV to a smaller TV that they used when we want to watch TV.

I have the HDMI cable going to a YAMAHA receiver, but connecting it directly from PS3 to TV gets the same result.

Any ideas?

.... Problem fixed thanks for a tip from @WSK96
