I know it's a stupid question but this is new to me. How does one go about finding a place like that?
lmgtfy.com for starters!

lol I didn't know that existed! I will totally be stealing that from now on.lmgtfy.com for starters!
Jesus! Why would he need 3/4" thick plate for a table top? He ain't building the titanic! So go buy a sheet of plate steel at your local steel mart. A nice sheet 3/4" plate should do nicely, and if you go for stainless steel it'll be pretty too!
he said heavy 3/4 at 4foot X 4foot is around 440 lbsJesus! Why would he need 3/4" thick plate for a table top? He ain't building the titanic!
Oh so you do know how google works, sweet! And would cost 440 dollars or more hahaha. I found a site that has different heights and widths cut to foot length and what I wanted would be $75 before shipping. No thanks.
yes but it won't rustAnd stainless would be even higher right?
Your set up is precisely that same as mine with a couple modifications and 2 other exceptions. The 2 exceptions are 2 25 lb dumbbells that i place a top the table to stabilize the table. Secondly, i have 2 thin pieces of wood vainer that i slip in-between the table and the wheel on top and under the clamps and table on the bottom. I was finding that i was tightening the clamps so tight that the plastic table top would begin to bend (be crushed) by the pressure. putting wood there helped displace the direct pressure from the clamps. (I actually broke one of the clamps and now use a c clamp to hold it to the table.) Works for me..i'm able to whip the wheel around when i need to, with confidence.FWIW - cheap, easy. 95% problem-free. I'm like you DP, I don't wanna spend a lotta lot on a rig and I want it portable. This folds up nicely and you can position the pedals under it where you like. It's not 'wobbly', but as I said occasionally if the wheel has a lot of torque due to countersteering or whatever it will move.
I suppose if I was motivated I could cut up some large empty butter or sour cream containers to fit around the legs and fill them with cement, but I'm not that motivated.
If you live in a yuppievile there should be a Home Depot or Lowe's that is required by law in every yuppieville. But I'd say just look for one of these at Walmart or a thrift store...

Lobbans the best!! Except he hangs out with a sheep herder. You're so funny, you must be one of the coolest kids ever
I really like the Ricmotech designs and they too are simply just wood cut to template shapes. I can therefore customize as I go to make it exactly how I want. Thanks for the help guys.
Had no idea what gussets were so I looked it up

That's cause he doesn't want anyone to see one of @aerolite s missing sheep tied up in his basement.I based mine on the ricmotech design, so easy to copy, no plans, just common sense and forty pounds of wood screws......this sucker ain't going nowhere. I would post a pic, but I am a cool kid, I don't do that. I just race.
but I'm seriously overthinking it.
Here we have the second place holder!
Ok, I get it. I'll quit being 'that guy' and posting random and unrelated posts. It's OK, I know I've been pretty loose about things.View attachment 579818 View attachment 579819
Just one more though....
Tonight I stand as a man in with a choice to make. On yesterday's Criaigslist, IT was there. IT is a '70s era Celica in beautiful condition. 1976 GT to be specific. The color is perfect. The car is perfect. The wheels are perfect. It's gorgeous. It's a freaking Toyota. I have seen it a few times in town and each time drooled over it from afar, wishing that I could have it. Now... I could. The dilema? I want it. But I don't need it. I've been seriously considering an AWD Rav4 hybrid for months. Which is practical. But now I have been truly tempted by the passion fruit. Oh, what to do...

You didn't get the joke lol, just quote everything you want to say in one post, don't make 4 posts consecutively, unless you really feel like there's a need to do so. (Example: Snail Combos link | Off-topic discussion)Ok, I get it. I'll quit being 'that guy' and posting random and unrelated posts. It's OK, I know I've been pretty loose about things.
You get fish slaps for multiple post in quick succession with no one else posting in between. LolOk, I get it. I'll quit being 'that guy' and posting random and unrelated posts. It's OK, I know I've been pretty loose about things.View attachment 579818 View attachment 579819
