Okay Snails, it's that time again! One of you will be declared the winner of the GranStand Challenge VI and have a GranStand wheel stand shipped to you! :D

The number of picks that each finalist earned is based on the number of GranStand points they earned. The winning number will be determined by the fastest lap set at the 101st running of the Indianapolis on May 28th:

Simply put, the very last two digits of the fastest lap during the race will be the winning number and the finalist who picked the same number will be declared the winner. For example, if the if the fastest lap of the race is 37:895, then the finalist who picked 95 would be the winner.

All finalists will be receiving a PM from me next Thursday morning (May 25th). It will include detailed instructions as well as the terms and conditions for participating in the contest. You will then have until midnight on May 27th to submit your picks on a first come first served basis. You will be required to post your picks here on this thread, but don't do anything until you read my PM first.

Simply post your acceptance of the GranStand Challenge VI terms and conditions and then immediately make a separate reply with your picks. There is no need to wait for a BOD member to give you the green light to post your picks since the initial rush of picks is over and the Indy 500 is only 24 hours away.

Wow what a race! Congrats to Takuma Sato and Andretti Autosport on the big win!! I am big fans of both :D

That said, it was ol' Spider-Man himself who was chasing his fourth Indy 500 win and set the fastest lap in the process. Helio's time of 00:39:5819 means that @thorracing is the winner of the GranStand Challenge VI and he will be generously auctioning his prize to TEAM SNAIL via the SNAIL Marketplace. There are some other cool things coming up for auction soon, so any $hells earned can go towards these upcoming auctions. 👍

I hate to be a stickler, but I agree with @SAMHAIN85 . The link provided for lap times takes you to Friday's practice results. I haven't been able to find an official box score for today's race yet. I think the data is still being finalized.

I guess it's possible that Helio could've run the exact same lap time today...

All I could think was, I'm glad I'm not @zer05ive today. I wasn't trying to stir the pot, as I'm sure @SAMHAIN85 wasn't either, but when you see something like that you want to nip it in the bud so nobody cries fowl later. Heavy lies crown my friend.

If you raced in D1 the last Sunday of racing, you get to vote to freeze the Amuse S2000 or Deep Forest Raceway. You only get one vote and you may not change your vote. Deadline to vote will be 11:59 PM ET tonight or when a majority is reached. In the event of a tie, the first vote cast will break the tie.

D3 drivers should begin to think up suggestions for either a car or a track because that prize is going up for grabs as well.
 
I went to Watkins Glen this past weekend. I doive the first stint on Saturday for about 80 minutes, then went last on Sunday for a full 2 hours. Saturday was not so good for me. I wasn't pushing the car enough and I was bothered by all the traffic and full course cautions. Sunday was a different story. Even though the tires had 12 hours of racing on them, I still managed to run a lap time within a couple seconds of my teammates best time from Saturday (on fresher tires).

We finished 19th on Saturday out of 106 starting cars and 29th out of 96 cars on Sunday. If not for a throttle body issue on Sunday, we would have been in the top 10. We were as high as 7th, before a driver change moved us to 17th. Then the throttle cable ripped out of it's "spot" and the car stopped. We had to be towed in and get it fixed. That took 25 minutes, most of which was waiting for the tow truck. We lost at least 10 laps from that, which would have put us on the same lap as the teams in 6th - 12th place. My last 6 laps were without the turbo as well, as the bolts broke connecting the turbo to the manifold. I had to relearn how to race the car without boost -> break later and less. I was able to run a 2:30 on the last lap of the race.

For those not familiar, the car is a 1994 Volvo 940 turbo. It has a 16 valve head from a 1991 using Megasquirt. It produced 267 wHP and 255 TQ on the dyno last week. On my YouTube page, there are fast laps of the other drivers on our team. Here is my best lap, 2:22.196.
