That's kinda my point about the car encyclopedia... or well, I guess I said museum. Don't expect 1500 cars, or even over 200. That is not the point of GTS, to be a catalogue of cars. GTS's focus is esports and competition racing. We won't be seeing alteza wagons, galants, Pontiac Vibes, or 500 variants of the miata. And to more cars and tracks on release than what's currently confirmed. That's the only part that is underwhelming to me. They did just announce a lot of cars the other day and that put a smile on my face.
I'm downloading it now. It's definitely not taking that long...which is a good thing.Hmmmm, must be my "clueless" understanding - have downloaded GTS Beta on PS4 Pro.
Says the Server is having Maintenance - so, can't get online.
Received a Gift car, but can't do anything but watch photos and video clips.
Did I miss an instruction somewhere? Maybe it isn't functional until 10/9.
Never mind - DUH!!!
"The demo will be available as a free download from the PlayStation Store, from 0900 GMT/UTC on October 9, with a pre-download available 48 hours earlier. The demo will run through to 1300 GMT/UTC on October 12, and players can transfer part of their progress into the full game."

Huh... 6 months ago, I would have laughed at the notion of being jealous of anyone getting a ps4 and whatever GT was on the horizon. Yet here i am. Quite envious not to be getting in on this at launch.
All said, it seems like this is the GT I've been waiting for. I've only rarely play GT for anything other than competitive racing, random drift nights and C&M events aside since gt4. When it went online, and I got seriously back into the game I quickly got bored with racing AI for credits, or to open another series. At that time, I took to the interests and found this forum. Did some tuning events, which were a lot of fun, but not quite what I was looking for. There is a lot of magic and smoke tuning in GT5. That's when I found snail. The idea of spec and being "intermediate" (is that long enough ago to say "That dates me " cause it feels like it) both appealed to me.
Anyway, this version of GT just seems like it's gone the route it should have with gt5. As soon as online competition was a solid option, I think that should have become the soul of the game. What's the point of being a race sim if you're not focused on the race concept. I think that is something that was a bit muddled in 5 & 6. The race signal got drowned out with the static of course makers, seasonals and car collecting. In a way, I'm glad the livery editor never made it. More static to sift through.
Anywho, it's just cool that, despite the past, PD seems to have got something that looks really good here. Though, I am glad you all will be diving in first before I toss my money at them.
How far are you from Saginaw? Got all day Monday and Tuesday to come try it out in my rig. If there's one thing SNAILs do, it's share.Huh... 6 months ago, I would have laughed at the notion of being jealous of anyone getting a ps4 and whatever GT was on the horizon. Yet here i am. I joined like Oct 2011. Shortly after an accidental self amputation procedure. Had a whole of free time on my hands. Well, hand and 4/5ths. I think that the second division had just been created maybe a couple of weeks before I joined.I have been in Snail ever since GT5 and got that invite back in 2013. I already have my PS4 slim but since it is a christmas gift cannot use it till Christmas day which isn't that long from now. Already have GT Sport pre-ordered and will pick it up on the 17th when gamestop calls me to say it has come in. I do agree PD looks like they have finally did something that has improved the series and hoping their network coding is more stable than in past GT games.
I live just south of Lansing. Thanks for the offer. I don't need a hard sell anyway. We are getting a ps4 regardless. The reviews here will just help determine the timeline. How far are you from Saginaw? Got all day Monday and Tuesday to come try it out in my rig. If there's one thing SNAILs do, it's share.
You need some more smoke! Everything runs on smoke, and you let it out of the engine. Just get a new engine that can hold the smoke in.I'm on my way home from Pittsburgh International Race Complex and it was a disappointing weekend. Yesterday, we battled with a faulty alternator, turbo hoses, messed up rear brakes and twice for a broken throttle cable bracket. My brother was able to race for around an hour before the bracket broke the first time. After we fixed that, I went out for the first of 3 separate stints broken up by some of those above mentioned issues.
While the car was running, it was very fast. I was able to run a handful of laps in the 2:04 range, with a fast lap of 2:04.157, good for 6th fastest lap of the race.
Today, we were optimistic and we were as high as 4th place overall, before a turbo hose came off again. Then at 70 minutes into the race, the forged rods didn't want to be contained any longer. A new hole was created so they could escape. We don't know what our next step will be, but I'll keep everyone updated.
