No assumptions. See above.

I know anyone can open a room at whatever time for whatever reason. I do not think that is the point being made here. For whatever reason it was announced above that Tec's room would've the Official practice room for Thursday. I am not sure as to why.

if anyone is hosting a room with the majority of Snail members on a Thursday night 10 minutes before the the establish practice time; at least you could follow the regular format.

For those on EST zone that have to get up before the sun is up; these unnecessary delays are bad form... and that is my own opinion. Just as any member is free to open any room at any time; I am also free to criticize it as it usually causes confusion and delay!

No big deal.. I'll wear panties from now on!

I had thought he was hosting an official practice room since it was after 8 central and Tec is an official member of Snail. I will open up the room usual time so their isn't any confusion in the future for Thursday night practice.

Lesson learned on never to trust FedEx with shipping. My loving wife (btw I got married yay) in her blissful innocence ordered me a new chair on Wednesday, but instead of having it shipped to the store (Target) for pick up today she opted to go with FedEx because it said 1 day shipping and I would have it at home in time for practice last night. But now it isn't due to be to me until 1/9/18. So barring a miracle I will either have to try to race this Sunday night on a DS4 for the first time on GTS or miss the night entirely. :grumpy:

Just gonna leave this here, then I have nothing else to say about it. There was conversation about after this last race the official room would be formed. I announced last race would start at 905 and it would be my final race. At 904 a snail member joined and I waited for him to jump in a car to start the race. Race started and a couple more snail members joined the room and we restarted the race to accommodate members. At that point I waited for members to ready up cars to race. Then I started the race, finished the race and logged off. There was no intention to interfere with Official practice and had things gone as planned practice would have started on time. Simple as that, nothing nefarious to hamstring available practice time for those wanting to join the normal 930 practice time.

Congratulations!!!

I would trust USPS over Fedex any day. Fedex was golden back in the 80s.. but now is just an uncertainty.

Congrats on the marriage. Nice to see she is happy with you racing

Congrats!!

Remember... Golden Rule.... Happy Wife = Happy Life. Make sure she enjoys racing just as much as you do

The drivers list has been updated again. Between the changes yesterday and today, a lot of drivers have changed divisions. I urge everyone to check the list so you know which division you have been assigned. The final update will be coming on Saturday night after the deadline to submit a time trial for the week has passed. I don't anticipate many changes between this version and the final version.

Division managers should go ahead and start a new thread for the Jan. season.

I would like to rejoin.

Here's your official SNAIL RE-Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @JLBowler, @nmcp1,@zer05ive ,@Rednose58 &, @MajorBlixem as participants.

The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

I'm not sure if it was my connection or what was going on last night but every time I connected to a room, all would be well for roughly 5 minutes, then EVERYONE in the room would leave and I would be the only one left. I would back out and then go back in and the room would still be there and everyone would still be racing. I rejoin and then 5 minutes later it would happen again. After 3 times I finally gave up and worked on creating liveries.

I cleared my cache, rebooted my router and still no luck. Hope it doesn't happen on Sunday night.

I have had this happen before too. Have also experienced my connection randomly dropping to NAT 3. Discovered that each time I experience unusual or unreliable behavior, it is when I either 'wake' the PS4 from 'rest mode' or switch from appear offline to online and begin playing without restarting the console. So part of my routine now is to restart the console and then run the 'test network connection'

Inherited a Practice Room tonight.
At the start of race, I could not see the car next to me.
If "Restart" is ignored by several drivers, how does the Host cancel the race?

Regarding "PS4 Rest Mode":
I have never figured out how to bring the PS4 out of Rest - so, I never attempt that any more. I just turn it off when I'm done. Even if I will only be away for 30-45 minutes.

To bring the PS4 out of rest mode just hit the PS button on any controller.

You cannot cancel the race but have every right to exercise the golden boot rule if racer do not comply

To bring it out of rest mode all you have to do is press the PS button on one of the controllers.

I never used that feature either. I don't hibernate my gaming PC either. It boots fast so I just shut it down.

It's as simple as pressing the ON switch on the PS4 to bring it back to life after Rest Mode. The advantage of having it in rest mode is that it downloads updates. When you turn on the PS4 you just install the update and go...a matter of seconds.
