I have read the first post and would like to join.

@hirnsauger69
Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @JLBowler, @nmcp1,@zer05ive ,@Rednose58,@MajorBlixem & @SAMHAIN85 as participants.

The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

The drivers list has been updated to reflect those that completed an updated time trial. Thank you to everyone that took the time to do this. Just a glance at the new data shows that we have a much better representation of the time trials by division. This should make new driver placement more accurate and create a better experience for all.

New drivers have not been placed at this time as there is a very real possibility that we will be expanding to 5 divisions for the Feb season and it doesn't make much sense to do the work of P&R for four divisions, only to have to re-do the whole thing if we get to five. The updated and complete drivers list for the Feb. season will be posted Saturday night after the deadline for new drivers to submit a time trial. At that time, we will need division managers to step up and get the new threads created. We may need a whole new set of volunteers to cover a fifth division.

This prevents people from possibly sandbagging their time.

Run a slow time and run circles around a lower division when in fact you are a much faster racer. 👍

Which totally makes sense in the concept of trying to be placed into a lower division as you'd see the breaking points where divisions are separated.

Would it hurt to reveal what the top time was without revealing who set it? :)

The time trial is a reference that is used to initially place drivers. We don't want information about times floating around for the reason stated above about someone sandbagging their time to get placed in a lower division. At the same time, we don't want the fastest times floating around so as to prevent someone who may have the pace for D4 trying to stroke their ego and submit a time worthy of D1. We get better data if there is no benchmark for someone to shoot at. Better data makes initial placement of drivers more accurate which should lead to a better experience for both existing and new drivers.

If people are interested in seeing where they rank amongst the rest of SNAIL in a Time Trial setting, maybe we should bring them back?

It was easy in GT6 when SNAIL had its own community lounge where combos would be setup, and your fastest laps would be updated within it.

We could use the daily race qualifier built into GT Sport to use as TT's if we wanted to. The guy gathering data would just need everyone that participates on his friends list so he can see their times. And then a spreadsheet can be made. As far as I know the daily combos arent daily anymore, they're weekly.

If people are interested in something like this speak up and we'll start putting something together if theres enough interest.

Who is on pins and needles to see if we will be at five divisions for February? I’m giddy with excitement. I’m tempering it by working on my 🤬 taxes today  :yuck:
Eh, I wish the announcement would be made already for the benefit of this months division managers. It could be chaos tomorrow trying to fill required positions before race time. Speaking from experience, it’s been a struggle in D4 the last few months.

Today I met with the Chief Bean Officer / owner of Detroit Bold Coffee, Aj O'Neil and his hard working employees' doing what they do, handing out some great tasting coffee to the hard working women and men of Detroit. To say that I'm a little excited about this partnership and the potential that it brings with it is a gross understatement, I'm jacked. This weekend will see my cars flying the official Detroit Bold Coffee Co. banner with more product based designs on the way as we ramp up the program and test the marketing potential of local esports involvement. I'll be announcing an upcoming contest with prize package as well this coming week. Now I gotta practice not scratching the paint off the sides of the BMW...ughhhh! (I'm the guy on the right) #DetroitBoldCoffee

As long as we are posting some fun cars. These ones were actually out being driven today. All 700 hp and at least $300k, with the Urus being the cheap slow one at $200k, 641 hp.

The last orange McLaren is the guy from Drag Times. I guess he was meeting all his buddies.
