Not a verry good first race series for me, some of the drivers in D1 are alot more aggresive than D2, not necessarily dirty but just seemed racing edicate came second to winning. I would also like to apologize to Bowler for taking you out in the miata, i was feeling the heat from other drivers and thought i should brake a little later in the chicane but ended up overshooting the corner and taking you out.

That is just an awesome mess! Better than the D3 "big one". At least this looks like some on purpose stunt driving going on. 👍 :sly: ;)

And I think someone else may be right. Kill this combo before it gets out of hand. Yes, I know, I voted for the only combo I got a win in tonight but it was pretty much accidental that I got it. I was kinda like the Rubber Duck, "I'm not leading, I'm just in front."

It was a fun night in D3, even the mess of the NASCAR, whatever sticks around for next week.

I've been watching those replays be be for the last half hour, and I kinda gotta say, I think nascar should not be a pickable combo any more. It's not that we as snails dont have the skill, though I think there will be an item or two sent to the stewards for review. I think it has more to do with the nature of how the game predicts car movements while it waits for an updated packet. I also think it unrealistically makes the cars way to loose. I dont like the idea of losing nascar, but it just isn't accurate enough to be anything more then a for fun event.

I agree...sorta. It may just be NASCAR at Daytona that's the problem (those big, heavy, powerful things can be fun on a road course [hintedy hint hint]). We've run Corvettes at both Indy and the Twin Ring Motegi oval with what I though were pretty good results. Even if you didn't really like the combos, at least they didn't have the problems I saw tonight.

I think you've nailed one of the problems on the head. It's much, much harder to follow someone in the draft at Daytona in GT5 than it should be. The front car jerks around a tiny bit from lag, and the car behind jerks around even more as he tries to stay in the draft. This magnifies the further you go back in the field until it's absolutely nuts by the 5th-10th cars. I eventually realized that I just needed to guess what the driver in front of me was really trying to do, aim that way, and hope he didn't suddenly change his mind. Still, it takes only a split second for what I intended to be a bump draft to turn into an accidental pass attempt.

But, it was fun. I'm not sure I'd like to do it every Sunday, but I did get a few kicks out of the chaos and unpredictability.

I'd have to agree also about the NASCAR at Daytona thing. I kept trying to figure out why people were hitting me sideways but now it makes sense. It must have predicted that I was going one way and when I didn't the car behind was all of a sudden next to me and almost spinning me. If it was more seamless didn't have the little lag thing going on I might enjoy it more but with the cars jumping around not a fan.

GT5 NASCAR is NOT simulation, it's 100% ARCADE. People realize that and start to drive like an arcade game, naturally. I had my car airborne against the wall twice while in the front pack and still made it to the front... it sounds like an arcade. It was fun though :)

Nascar was AWFUL.... Voted it off
Greenthumb.... come on buddy... hang in there.

Already did the vote its 3, with a deseperate mind of quit and some1 look like casper tell me to stay. Since 2 weeks im a victim in the league and im tired of that.

From now on I'll break in my cars :P

I think it is part of a weekly requirement to race on Sundays! .. .Just saying!

:dopey:

"All cars are unmodified (no upgrades, no extra parts, just get the correct tires). The car should be broken in. See post #1 in the S.N.A.I.L. thread for more details."

Or you could just whine on the thread and lose whatever remaining credibility
you have.

Will be done at lunch today.

Im angry sorry dabneyd I put nothing more bad on the tread. Im just very sad to had practice all the weeks and break my cars for whine on the tread like a tweetie bird. Maybe im not the only to had bad performance. I close that discussion. Im just powerless to change something.

I'd like to remind all replay uploaders to get those replays on sugarsync.

I don't always upload replays for D5, but when I do, I like to have all the races.

I was disconnected from race 6. Can someone from D5 e-mail me the race so I can have all the races in 1 neat and tidy zip file?

To all those that are complaining about NASCAR and not being able to do it. How much time have you spent practicing it? How much time have you spent with the other disciplines in this game? I'm going to guess there is a big difference between those two answers. I'm not going to go into a long description of what it takes to be good with these cars in that style of racing because it will just be dismissed when someone says, "It's all about getting lucky." If that was the case, the same guy wouldn't win every oval race he's finished (connection demons) on Sundays.

@RickyBobbyV8 I knew when it happened in the Mazda that it wasn't anything intentional on your part. You just missed the braking point. I was waiting for you to turn so I could turn and it just didn't happen.

It's scary how much he looks like Niki Lauda.

Yeah he look like very much I just saw the pic of him on the net because he's not in my era I dont know him. I will knowing his history if I see the movie and I really want to.
