I posted this on our Facebook page (Gran Turismo 7 Clean SPEC Racing... come join!) last week but figured I'd share it here today.

This was my 1973 Ford Maverick. It was my first car and my dad and I cherry picked parts from a 71 and this 73 originally giving it a 302w, c4 trans with a B&M floor shifter, twin Flowmasters, Hedman headers, Edelbrock 650 carb, and an Edelbrock RPM camshaft. After an oil pressure gauge line failed on the way to Daytona and I hurt the 302, I got a 351w and shoved it in there. Had to chop the inner fender wells and re weld walls into them to fit it with the headers. Added a 9" rear end, 3.73 gears, shift kit, re-arched leaf springs, modded the shifter for proper ratchet shifting, and added reinforcements to stiffen the unibody frame and engine/compartment. It only had 3 gears and it would light em all up. There I was, just a Florida boy out racing rice rockets and flying down dirt roads like Dukes of Hazard. My buddy had a 70 Plymouth Road Runner with a hopped up 360. His 4 speed gave him a little advantage but we were always close on our back road drag races. Here's a shot of my Maverick's rendition in GT7.

Thank you to everyone that joined the practice last night. I want to continue running on Thursdays and need feedback regarding the format.
-length of the event
-qualifying
-do 2nd reverse grid or simply 1 longer/full length race to speed the night up

Also, please claim your profile at dg-edge.com

I’ll try to attend your practice next time, excellent idea to restart the Thursday night practice. I'll jump in when schedule permits it.

@ErickGaToRR I'm glad you had fun with my out of the ordinary combo. It was fun to battle on track with you as always. Slow car fast beats fast car slow ;)

@radliffracing Amazing story behind your Maverick. It's always fun to have one of your cars in the virtual one. I should do the same with mine as it's in GT7 but its much much less exciting.

Liveries on point as usual, do you do all of them in remote play for real ? If so, mad respect, I lack the patience to do mine on the PS5 I can't imagine via remote play. Also, I requested to join the FB group, but I'm not very active on FB, I deleted the app from my phone and only access it on my laptop much less often.

Finally, on a personal note, I've reached the final GT7 milestone after the Platinum Trophy a couple of months ago. I've acquired every single car once. Pick one, I have it ;) I say acquired because the VGT cars I bought and resold immediately, I don’t want them polluting my collection.

I did the Cooper and the Alfa Romeo on the remote play app and the GTR on the ps5 this morning. I had brought my ps5 remote on the road with me this week and bluetoothed it to my phone which made the process alot easier. I was even able to join in on @Oshawa-Joe's practice although it wasn't very easy to drive with the added lag and such a small screen. I'm going to try and find a way to use my laptop as a screen while hopefully not adding to the lag. Formulating a plan where I bring the PS5, PSVR2 and get a Starlink satellite one day. The only thing missing would be the sim rig.

Congrats on the trophy, I ve been working towards it as well.

My real car and real neighborhood are both in the game! I’m gonna try to find the actual location (it shouldn’t be hard at all) eventually.

@arethosetacos nice car! You can tell your in the same area by the telephone pole alone. Great practicing with you, @JakeMk8 and @Mac1032763 last night.

@Worst_Driver glad to have you on our Facebook page, thank you for joining. It's cool to put a face to the voice. I'm curious to see what your real life GT7 car is.

@hugenecheung Welcome to SNAIL and great job going straight into D1! I hope you enjoy your races tonight. There's been double digit attendance numbers in D1 all season I believe, and they keep getting bigger!

It's the last night of the season! @Nicktune, @ErickGaToRR and @Worst_Driver are in a close race for first place still. Meanwhile @JamCar0ne has a pretty solid lead in D2 and I'm sitting in 2nd place for maybe the second time ever, @arethosetacos could easily fix that by the time it's over.

I am not confident I'll be racing tonight. Especially if what I've been reading regarding TrueForce afflicts my wheel in online lobbies. We'll see how it goes in warmup tonight.

It's taks a little getting used to. Helped changing sensitivity to 10, especially on CM tires. You'll be OK.

You will want to turn TF Audio to zero, otherwise there is a weird grinding sensation, likely residual TF signal/noise.

Don't have to touch the wheel settings at all. Trueforce gets its signals from the in game controller vibration setting, so far as I understand it. Here's a report of how I understand where TrueForce gets its signals.

I wasn't talking about improving TF, but instead compensating for the reduced detail by increasing sensitivity. Take R1 for example. Throwing the 65 mini around without TF and Torque 7/sensitivity 1.... couldn't really feel tires, grip, weight TF etc. Bumping sensitivity up to 10 improved most of that. My wheel now feels like a powerful, smooth and precise T300.

Looks like a lot of GT5 … and street cars. I’m in love.
If you're looking for some nostalgia, I'd have to dig up my old PS3 but there are probably stacks of replays in there. I snagged a few to put up for a friend a few years ago.

It's only my in car view for the lap for someone a while back, but I'm sure I could grab the cinematic replays off the console.
