So, I am sure it happened while I was on my leave, but what happened to race cars on race tires and street cars on street tires? That sure did make a lot of sense.

Having the lower powered race cars on sports tires (S2K race car, I believe the Lotus Elise too) made for some good racing, and it brings more skill into the mix. Driving those cars on racing tires made it too easy.

Overall, the change helped more cars than it hurt. Most of the lower PP race cars are a lot more fun to race now that they don't act like slot cars. A couple of the MR street cars take a hit but they're not undriveable and we're not going to assign a tire to every car individually. That's why people need to check the tire rules and test a car before choosing it for Sunday night. It also removed the need to designate all the borderline cars in the game as a race car or a street car and we made the change before any of those cars were chosen for racing on Sunday so making that change probably removed a four page "discussion" from the main thread.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary '88 (Sports: Soft) at Grand Valley Speedway / Forward (5 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @llNovall wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.
PLEASE NOTE: Since @llNovall has already won Prize A this season, he is ineligible to win it again until next season. This means that unless he loses Prize A due to incident reviews, any driver who competed in Division 4 on Sunday night will have the opportunity to suggest an entirely new car and track combo. I recommend that all D4 drivers from Sunday night start thinking about combos they would like to suggest. That way, you will be ready to post it if/when @Dragonwhisky give the "all clear". Also, please be sure to only suggest one combo. Any driver who suggests more than one combo will automatically be ineligible to suggest any combos at all. Please don't let that happen to you. Only suggest ONE combo (but not until @llNovall is confirmed as the Prize A winner).

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Caterham Seven Fireblade '02 (Racing: Hard) at Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit (7 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @DesertPenguin09 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @o8_jedi so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated,so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more importantis that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, no car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

Currently tracking 34 Incident Reports

Prize A winner is clear but, other division winners have racing incidents being investigated by the stewards. This may, obviously, change the order of prizes B & C. Prize B & C winners are asked to refrain from making selections until the Weekly Steward's report, or an update has been posted.

The target deadline for the Steward Reviews, this week, is Wednesday night by 10PM Eastern. The Steward Summary will be posted as soon as possible, following completion of reviews.

:@: SNAIL Stewards, please make your way to The Incident Review Scoring.

The IR Submission Form is now closed.

All those who raced in D4 this Sunday are allowed one, and only one, nomination for prize A. When making your nomination, list the entire car name and the entire track name. Failure to do so will result in your nomination being thrown out. Note: If there is no chance of confusion, a partial track or car name may be accepted ex: Laguna Seca would be acceptable, Grand Valley would not be acceptable. Do no edit your post that contains your nomination for any reason. Proofread before you hit the post button. Doing this will void your nomination. Making multiple nominations will void any and all nominations you make. If your nomination is thrown out for any reason, you will not get a second chance to nominate something so make the first one count. All nominations must be posted in the main thread by the driver making the nomination.

Please do not go into your divisional conversation and come up with an agreeable choice to put in the main thread. This needs to be a transparent process that the entire league can see as it happens.

The nomination period will close at 10 PM PT on Tuesday. At that point, @llNovall will have until 10 PM PT on Wednesday to make his selection from the nominations.

When SNAIL was granted our own GTPlanet Forum section, I was all like

Oh yeah! We can centralize information in a way that ought to make it easier for SNAILs to find out what they need to know.

After a few of us went all
workdragon.jpg
on some new threads, and some of them are still being worked on, I was thinking this ought to work pretty well.

Now, I'm kinda like
AnnoyedDragon.jpg

and

That it seems hardly anyone is using those threads or posts to find out what they want to know.

So now I'm all like RAWR. Go use them, and, if you found what you wanted to know, hit that Like button?

Remember, "crunchy, and good with ketchup"?

Yeah, I'm kinda grumpy this morning.

Hopefully, an afternoon off from work and a pass at mowing my lawn will moderate that some. We'll see.

By the way, www.gtplanet.net/snail is where you can start to find all of those threads.

I've used the new thread to review the OLR again. Oh and found out that there were notifications in the GT1 thread that I wasn't getting!

My daughter is a huge fan of SNAIL (she actually complained that I haven't raced the last 2 weekends...) but this one is her favourite post by far. I just lost control of my computer for 10 minutes while she scrutinised the pictures in great detail...

I like the commentating a lot ! It adds another level. Sounds like you guys had fun doing it. Do D 4 next week LOL
I beleive it should be two divisions per week or what ever the calendar will allow - so that at least half a race of each division is broadcasted.
