Knock-Out Qualifying Procedure has changed!

Effective immediately, the following changes go into effect for Touring Cars Series KOQ. In short, we will move to a in game club time trial format and the race night KOQ process is eliminated. The main reason for this change is to one, offer a different format between the two series and to make it easier for me on race nights. Running these two events (RCS/TCS) back to back makes for long nights for me.

Here are the key bullets for the new KOQ process
  • Each week, a KOQ Time trial is set up for the upcoming weeks race
  • You can find the KOQ Time Trial in the Club Section
  • The KOQ Time Trial will be open from 11:00pm eastern on Tuesday Night and will close at 11:00pm eastern on Sunday Night
  • If you are not one of the confirmed top 10 drivers locked into the next weeks race, you will need to record an official time in the KOQ Time Trial Event
  • You can submit as many times as you want
  • I will track the times and provide daily updates using the below format
  • All Active TCS Drivers are welcome to submit times (even if they are in the top 10)
  • Top 10 drivers times will not count towards KOQ once they confirm that they will be racing that week
  • I will track who has confirmed and update the sheet accordingly
  • All top ten drivers MUST confirm participation by 11:00pm eastern on SUNDAY!
    • This is to allow me to lock in how many spots are open
  • Sunday evening, I will post the the final results and ask that the KOQ drivers to confirm their intent to race by 8:00pm on Race Day.
  • If we dont have confirmations by 8:00pm eastern on race night or if there are cancellations, the first alternate (and so on) will have the open spot on the grid.
    • If your an alternate, please indicate that you could race if spot opens up.
  • On race night, I will open the lobby to all main event drivers @ around 8:30pm eastern.
    • Any driver that is not in the room by 8:55pm eastern will lose their spot to the next alternate.

Here is a sample of what it would look like. I will indicate how may spots are up for grabs and the current KOQ time to beat.

Thanks everyone

I had a feeling it would be a way to get us to use the time trials since they haven't been used by many. I like it.

That was actually a test for for the new process. We had come up with it a couple weekends ago but was too late to implement it. We were going to wait for Season 2 to roll it out however after last week, I was beat and it was a long night for me back to back. So it was rolled out tonight.

One thing to add, The host MUST start the time trial just like a regular race and you must run the full 15 mins (dont leave the lobby) for the times to record.

And you can run the 15 minute TT over and over or just one time and that's your qualifying session?
you can run it as often as you want. I'll take your fastest time. You will need to restart a new session after the 15 mins are up though. If for some reason there is a tie, I will use the one that has the fewer attempts

Have not reviewed any of the races but it appeared to be a better night of racing this week. I had a great race all night against @Zii1993. Seemed we were in contact all night. The only really strange thing was seeing @Parcells2 turn left at turn 1 in the last race.

Again, I was just glad we got the race started on time given the psn issues. It was not looking good for awhile there. Congrats to the winners tonight.

In an alternate Universe there’s no reason to believe turn 1 can’t go left and last night there were many times Parcells was racing in an alternate Universe so suck it Trebek! ;)

I just assume great racing now and Parcells had some good battles throughout the night when I wasn’t acting as the night’s moveable pylon which I succeeded at rather well if I do say so myself.

But first things first…I think the only harm done from Parcells first race first turn total lock up was to my ego but if I caused anyone issues please accept my apologies and if penalties are forthcoming so be it, they’d be well deserved…what a way to start the night you moron!

Then there was the time I went left at turn one – succumbed to the pressure of having Grimm and Zii(volik?)right up my ass. Was locking my brakes up a lot last night, couldn’t figure it out.

Euclid and I had a good battle in one of the races…I eventually passed him because my tyres were in much better shape but a couple laps later he returned the favor because of the same reason, just reversed. There were numerous times last night when tyre wear made you a sitting duck, awesome!

I sort of want to apologize to Brnt for assisting you into the final chicane when we were battling in race 1 I think it was but since I never touched you (almost positive that was the case) I’m not sure an apology is warranted. BUT, I was consciously using my Jedi mind powers at the time and I don’t know what the ruling is for that (only rule Grimm doesn’t have covered). I was never going to attempt two wide into that chicane Brnt (although that did occur once or twice) but had to make you think I was going to so I stayed side by side until the bitter end. You’re welcome.

Then there was the time I took on a full tank of fuel in race 3 which kind of summarized the night I was having, Ho-hum.

No worries about the last turn incident Penguin…100% accident on your part, I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Last night was great. :P I felt more Consistant than I have in weeks. Kinda started to lose a little focus halfway through last race which set me back but overall definately an amazing night.

Grim it was me and you all night but after watching some replays your line changed on race 3. You picked up a lot more speed in areas I knew I could catch you on.

After watching your rear bumper pull away from me in the first 2 races, I had to make some changes.

Gentlemen,

The Wednesday night crew have been advised, it’s time to introduce the Tuesday night crew to a night of casual racing.

If any of you are interested in joining a Thursday night session I host a casual race night every Thursday from 7-10 EST. The link is below. Basically a bunch of old timers getting together to enjoy a care free night of racing with little pressure but lots of bull****t being thrown around.

If you think you may be interested just make sure you’re on my friends list and we’ll see you on-line sometime.

If you have any questions please place them in my thread as I don’t want to be the cause of cluttering up Grimm’s gold mine he has here.

Glad to see you return Wangan. KOQ is already open; we are using a new KOQ process. Click here for Grim's post. The gist is that you run the Time Trial set in the room. Be sure to read the entire post; there are specific instructions to follow.
Okie dokie. I need an invite please and thank you.
