OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

If you are racing tonight, be sure to have AAE_Apex_Zero on your friends list. The room will open at 8:30 EST, qualifying for round 1 starts at 9.

Sorry guys, I sat down Sunday to pick a combo, must of got distracted and then completely forgot.
I was wanting to do something with drafting at the big Monza mixed track. Maybe next time.
Such is life.

Anyway, I am in the process of completly overhauling the prize system to be a heck of a lot more consistant.

The changes should be in place at the beginning of the new year.

This was the worst display of race starting I have ever seen as a league. I am really disappointed in the mess that tonight was. I hope next week will be better.
I agree. I don't think some are truly listening when the host runs down the starting order. Maybe there needs to be a rule...say...by the 45 second mark.... if someone is out of order they start in the back. That idea is probably a bad idea but yes tonight was awful. A few times there was some really dumbass stuff being discussed and maybe those discussing said dumbass stuff were the ones confused about their starting position. It is frustrating though

Also.....I'm not the offended party by the way but I went back to watch a few replays and I saw some really bad decisions being made when it comes to trying to beat someone into a corner. I saw a few guys get absolutely blasted simply because someone was trying to beat another to a corner. Not only that but also taking the complete wrong line into the corner while doing it. I don't necessarily feel like an elder here as I'm relatively new to GT Planet and the leagues here.....but I feel compelled to talk to some of the guys I see doing these things and I want to help them and explain to them what's what and why is why in the world of driving a race car (sim wise anyway). I'm just afraid I would piss someone off or they would take it the wrong way and then I would possibly make things worse or run them off from a league. It's not my league but if anyone ever feels like they want any advice I would love to help in any way I can.

The league as a whole needs to take some form of responsibility in making the night run smooth. Showing up on time and listening to host instruction is not that hard.

If anybody needs a rundown of league night procedure without the league night distraction, I don't mind helping.

Now, for more lighthearted conversation, the league will be getting not only live video of several on-boards (thank you guys) but @Harley Owen and I will be putting highlight reels up on our youtube starting with next weeks races.

Feel free to post links to your livestreams on here guys. I know of at least 2 livestreams that happened last night.

I try to always be as clean as I possibly can. I literally jumped in the league 15 minutes before the first race started with 3 cars I've never drove. First race I at least knew the track (Watkins) so that turned out ok although the Lotus wasn't the easiest open wheeler to drive. 2nd track I've never drove (Dubai) so I was literally learning during qualifying and the race. 3rd race I know the track (monza) but that Zonda was so loose I needed more time to practice with it. Now that I'm in your guyses league and will know what tracks and cars that will be coming I should be able to be more consistant.

We love having you here and look foward to more weeks on track as you get accustomed to the league.

I liked racing with you Mannskee. Thanks for the friend invite as well.... I'm always looking for clean racers to be able to add to the random night racing room. I didn't see anyone not being clean or wrecking anyone on purpose. What I saw from the replays were just complete lack of awareness and what I can only call lack of understanding of racing. I'm not perfect by the way, I took out myself and Vaper while running first and second. Pushed a little hard and slid out.

I hope I didn't create a problem for anyone! I'm a slow old guy, I know it and I accept it, and try to respect others! If I am causing problems please speak up either here or in a pm, I'm a big boy and I can take it.

REVERSE GRID STARTS: Because I'm on the slow end of the scale in this group I usually end up towards the front of the grid for 2nd races. This tends to end up with me ending up at the back of the field because some seem to forget where the brake pedal is, tires are cold, the speed and line are different with a pack, etc....
Everyone on the grid knows the 1st couple of rows are slower then the rest. You are truly faster then those ahead of you but trying to prove it in the 1st couple of turns is not good racing. We're all in leagues so we're all familiar with "it is up to fast faster car to cleanly and safely execute an overtake". What's the harm in waiting a few second or so to make this happen. Not doing so ruins the quality of racing. As a group we are all capable of racing cleanly with each other. Why do brains shut off a start???

I'm not whining or complaining. Just an observation!

:boggled::boggled::boggled: :cheers:

I say I would like any of these incidents to be reported to me and incident reports filed. These unclean moves will only be defeated by punishments.

Also camel I would very much appreciate if you take a couple guys under your wing. Maybe even set up a night as a class? Snail had something like that for Sunday’s. It really helped a lot of drivers.

My advice is if you feel like you don't know the track or the car very well when race night comes, just pull over and let everyone by and just try to learn the lines and pass when you are comfortable. Not knowing braking points and driving lines is only going to hurt those around you no matter how good you are. You will push wide in corners, not hit apexes, run OB and run into the back of people as you watch for their taillights to come on. Especially on reverse grid races. Just pull over...you aren't going to impress anyone by trying to stay in front when you still haven't learned the track yet.

This is all for fun and no one likes to be run into....I can't tell you how many times I've screamed at the screen in frustration when being run into...and how many times people have probably screamed at me...but we get wiser with advice and experience and learn not to ruin others nights

When is the next cars and tracks going to be posted? I was thinking if we had all week to practice it should clean up the races when race time comes.

After the points get posted, I post an announcement tagging who gets what prize for that week. Generally, we have all combos posted by Sunday night.
