I was looking at the same ones last night should get some good quality on that. I watched the old vids on my phone and they came up full screen then uploaded mine to see a crap half screen vid lol. At least haydens is a alot better quality.

Yeah having a stroll through the guides now this thing is so boss.

I'll put up a test video by tonight and see what you guys think 👍

Yeah cheers to everyone for dropping by 👍

Once I get my setup figured out I'll be sure to start recording some tandems soon.

@Stavingo what happened to you last night I thought you were leaving then nek minute

Love that section thanks jdmt boyz now I cant stop playing it:cheers:

I was getting some film and testing my PVR and left my PS3 on

Uploading video now so I'll put it up ASAP in here and I may consider starting a drifting video thread.

Use Live movie maker. As simple as it sounds, you can do quite a bit with it. It's what I use to start my videos off, its really easy to use and gets the job done well. Watch the Greddy Revolution video I made as its probably the best LMM alone edit 'Ive done.

Yeah for some weird reason my laptop can't run live movie maker but I'm getting a friend to teach me how to use vegas pro 12

ok, That's the other one I use, but its much more complicated. And it seems to be a little glitchy when I use it, specially for trying to fast forward and rewind to the segments I want to edit. Could be my laptop though, I wouldn't be surprised. lol.

Eh I don't mind it's little glitches I can cope with it

No, mine tries to freeze up when I try to skip the slider across in the video and sometimes lose the mouse. Don't get me wrong, I hope it works well for you, I'm interested to see what you come up with. It could be that my files are too big for the program too, 1080i seems to record at an average of 100mb per minute.

You need a good pc rig for editing and I mean good especially when your playing with hd most pc will handle basic editing at small resolution but the load it puts on your processor is massive thats why your freezing up

Yeah thought as much, that's why I'm using movie maker for the bulk

You do not need a good rig to run Vegas, not until you start to use high definition third party plug ins, such as twixtor, and RSMB. (Which I recommend you do, because they are fantastic) And possibly look into Magic Bullet Looks for Colour Correction. I see a lot of people on GTP using the colour correction tools provided in Vegas, which looks terrible, and lowers the quality.
The reason that your Vegas would be lagging would most likely be due to the FPS you are recording at, if it is anything above 59.94, Vegas won't agree with it, hence freezing/lagging/crashing (it'll cause a lot of frustrating problems)
If you are getting any problems with lagging and freezing, try updating the driver software on your recording device! (This was a massive issue with some Hauppauges, they would record at 118 FPS, and immediately crash vegas when importing the files)
Vegas is a really great editing software if you use it right, but you definitely don't need an amazing rig for the basics :sly:
(I used to trickshot and edit COD, and Vegas was the software i used along with a Hauppauge Gaming Edition HD PVR, http://www.youtube.com/user/redmystic2)

Anyone got some PS3 HDTV component cables I can borrow

Looks like it's gonna be awhile before I'm able to do live recordings.

Lol the're 6.75 on eBay With free postage if you borrow you run the risk of getting crap cables again.
Just buy them new that way you know you won't run into problems..

@Stavingo here you go mate a quick tutorial that may come in handy it may work it might not redmystic is quite right you don't need the best but I tell you what I built my own rig and it made a hell of a difference I have a 6 core cpu xfire 6850 gpus and 32g of ram mate you will see what I mean when you start rendering and playing around a bit more. my 6 core gpu shaved hours of my old laptop rendering times and no freezing what so ever.

The only thing that a better PC really, really helps with (Apart from HD Add-ons) is render times.
Everything else in Vegas can be run no problem, on pretty much anything (I would have been able to use Vegas on my school laptop. Sorry, 'Netbook')
Edit: The other thing i would recommend that you do is look around for some really good render settings, especially for an MP4 file, and then compress it with handbrake, it will honestly make your videos so much better, without the worry of file size 👍)

Handbrake is a great tool I use to use to compress 3d movies for my 3d phone
