Yup, I had been out of the pits maybe a lap or two after my second stop. That was sad. I think you DC'd around lap 43.

So does this mean you aren't going to be around these parts as frequently again come soon?Awesome! Sounds like some awesome racing last night! 👍 Congrats @BionicDerp 👍
I was in the race shop putting in the new 16 gallon fuel cell and putting in the new fuel lines. Racing begins in 2 weeks so don't have much time to get everything done but it will get done
I think you were pulling me enough early in the stint that I wasn't going to catch you. It's hard to say exactly how things would have turned out with me pitting one or two fewer times. You probably would have still had me. Unfortunately we'll never know.Oh, what could have been! I had a lot of fun, and was at least trying to watch the rest of the race until I got DC'd from the room again. The mediums were absolutely killer out there, but I was pushing way too hard too often, and I think I wore them out too fast. It was very difficult to keep up with late night and derp, and I was always worried that Dolph was going to catch up while my tires were worn out.
I was getting killed in the flat turns before the tunnel. I could keep pace with you guys around the rest of the track. As for lap times, I dipped into the 1:04.9XX's a few laps. But that was all I could do on those hards. I mainly ran 1:05's until a few laps from the end of my stints, where I was running 1:06's until my tires would completely fall off and I'd be putting down 1:07's just before pitting.I think if you had a wheel, you had an advantage. There were very specific steering angles and speeds you had to hit, and if you did on softs, they wouldn't even turn yellow/orange/red. There were a few times where I took T1 flat out on 8's or less and the tires still didn't light up. Ended up lasting almost 25 laps on one set. All I did was try to take the corners as fast as I could without heating up the tires too much so they would last. Averaged low 1:04's on fresh tires, 1:05's all the way down to fours, and finally into the 6's below that. Once I got slower than 1:05's I pitted. Went for average laps, rather than fastest laps. Wow was driving on 2's on a lap or two hard though. o_o

It didn't help that two people posted literally seconds before me. Then I wanted to reply to one of their's.Dolph, you are such a double poster!
Second gear corners. Brake early, guide it to the inside, full throttle straight across to the second apex, lift at the start of the curbing, glide through, tap the brakes if you like, light throttle to turn in, slowly apply early on to get the exit just right so you're within a couple inches of the tunnel wall.I was getting killed in the flat turns before the tunnel. All that and having a wheel. I do think the greater degree of rotation you get in a wheel helps a little bit in getting through those tighter turns. I can only push the left d-pad button so hard (or in rare occasions pull the left stick so far over). And soft tires probably help as well. (though it sounds like I'm just trying to make up excuses now...I needed a better strategy for this one )Second gear corners. That's a scary thought. Even rusty a few months ago, you had no problem beating the tar out of us.Good thing I'm racing over at WRS on Wednesday night's basically just to keep me up to speed so when I come back I won't be rusty but instead just as fast or faster
yeah when I first came back with the cobras I was right up their still. That's a scary thought. Even rusty a few months ago, you had no problem beating the tar out of us.
I was using barely any steering angle. I was just going "slow". Was trying not to wear the tires, remember? All that and having a wheel. With a fast Group C racecar out there, I predict quite a few runoffs, sand trips and spins. This week should be a blast! Sauber C9 around Suzuka! Sounds like a challenge! I'll be their! 👍
Big car around a tight track! Should be interesting
Yeah no kidding! I can imagine tire wear and fuel playing a role in this race as well as its 2 45 minute races so it should be very interestingWith a fast Group C racecar out there, I predict quite a few runoffs, sand trips and spins.
@Psycho Turtle, is this race supposed to be this coming weekend or next? The schedule shows it being next, but that is Easter weekend. Did you mean to have it this week instead?
Me toI want a do-over with softs this time!

I remember trying out all the "classic" LMP cars at the nurb. This thing is faster than the 787B if you can believe that. haha 787B got around 5:45's. and this thing got into to 20's. It's crazy.Yeah no kidding! I can imagine tire wear and fuel playing a role in this race as well as its 2 45 minute races so it should be very interesting
This is what I was referring to, Psycho. I was just wondering why you had this weekend planned off and not next. Wasn't sure if you meant that or not.looks like we have another week off?

Sounds good!a 2 hour enduro is only worth the trouble if there is enough interest. At this late notice it would be better to keep it simple with either a one make race or a group of cars we already know are basically equal.
If there is interest, i would think trying to find some fun gt300 ish type cars or maybe some club cup cars could be a fun diversion. Something in that spec range (lower HP, decent grip) seems conducive to close racing for all skill levels.
I'm just not sure we can drum up 10+ guys who would be interested in a 2 hour enduro :-) and without that, a bunch of short, varied races might be a better option where guys can come and go. Like Shuffle racing. who knows, just thinking out loud. not sure what the majority of our casual members would like to do.

I think slower club cup cars would be fun. Or maybe some random one make races.
