So is it the R18 with tuning not allowed? Oil change?

Actually I just read the OP which answered this :dunce:

I will likely end up joining you guys at Spa. Love the track.

It's a great combo. We look forward to racing with you! 👍

This is what I'm working on

Race 17: May 2, 2015 | One Enduro Race

Audi R18 TDI (Audi Sport Team Joest) '11 | Racing Soft

Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps - Time | 42 Laps

DRIVERS MEETING

The "Golden Rule" of Motorsports

"It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver, meaning the car that is attempting to execute the pass, to make sure that the pass is made cleanly and incident free."

Rules

You are expected to follow The "Golden Rule" of Motorsports and adhere to the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules and exercise Good Racecraft at all times, especially in turn 1.

"Rubbin"

This is a non-contact sport. Let me put it another way, if you are "rubbin", you ain't racing in this league. We will not tolerate individual drivers taking the fun out of racing for everyone.

First Turn

You are not going to win the race on the 1st turn or the 1st lap. Therefore, it is the policy of this league for you to hold your position in turn 1. Holding your position in the first turn is limited to the first turn on the first lap. You must hold your position through the 1st turn and make no attempt to advance it unless the following situations occur: 1) The driver directly in front of you is asleep on the start. 2) The driver directly in front of you runs off course with at least 2 wheels off the track. 3) Obvious race incidents that must be avoided. Other drivers may draft past you before the approach (braking zone) to turn 1 if it can be done incident free. In other words, if you are able to fully draft past someone without incident or disruption to the other driver(s) with a reasonable distance before approaching the first turn you may.

This rule is in place for 2 reason: (1) to avoid incidents in the first turn, and (2) so that drivers doing their part to avoid incidents in the 1st turn of are not taken advantage of. There is no sense in causing an incident in the congestion of the first turn. Furthermore, it is inappropriate to take advantage of other drivers doing their part to keep turn 1 incident free. Once again, you may not attempt to pass once in the braking zone of the 1st turn of the 1st lap. If a complaint is filed, the decision we make will be one that promotes an incident free first turn.

Dive Bombing

Dive bombing is unacceptable
, and only results in accidents. It is not the same as passing under braking. Dive-bombing is when a trailing car intentionally brakes late to dive underneath the car in front of them as they are turning into a corner. The trailing driver must move to the low groove for at least 3-4 seconds prior to corner entry, so that the leading driver can see the trailing drivers intentions in his mirror. However, running the low groove is not a guarantee that he will allow you to pass, it is only an indication that you wish to pass him on the low side.

Procedures

Until everyone has accepted the TURTLE RACING LEAGUE "Community" invitation and we have more experience with the "Community" function we will run the races in an open lobby. Go to "Open Lobby" and check the "Friends Rooms Only" box and look for TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - FLEX RACING SERIES and enter. Races will begin at 10pm Eastern time.

Connection Issues

Please follow the procedures below to help minimize connection issues.
Step 1: Reboot your modem/router
Step 2: Reboot your PS3
Step 3: Clear your GT6 in game System Cache

Pit Stops

Drivers need to be very careful entering the race track when exiting the pit. Please look at your map to see if other drivers are near the pit exit. Drivers exiting the pit need to stay in the pit exit lane until the track is clear of cars on the track. Cars on the track have the right of way.

Quitting

Drivers are expected to finish races no matter what position they are in. Rage quitting is frowned upon! :grumpy:

Microphones

Although you are welcome to use microphones during the race, they should only be used to communicate your proximity to other drivers in order to avoid an incident. Otherwise, either mute them or make sure any background noise in non-existent.

Reminders

1: Hold your position and do not attempt advance in turn 1 of lap 1
2: If you go off track make sure the track is clear before you re-enter
3: If you cause an accident you must wait and give the position back
4: Watch for cars on the track coming out of the pit, stay to the inside
5: Keep Microphones muted during race unless advising your proximity
6: Drivers being lapped must let lapping drivers by without contesting

Race Incidents

Legitimate complaints are encouraged, they insure a better racing environment for everyone. Complaints should be addressed by "Private Message" to the race steward of the race in which the incident occurred. Please include race number, lap number, and time of incident. A ruling will be announced after a video review by an independent steward. All racing incidents or racing related issues shall be dealt with privately and under no circumstance mentioned publicly.

Final Note

Race Clean and Have Fun!

The R18 is the base model, right?
There is no base model for the R18, only for the Peugeout 908.
There is a "prototype" version that is simply carbon fiber instead of the Joest livery, if that is what you mean.
Looking forward to the race tonight, can't ever miss a race at Spa.

yeah choco, sum like that :sly:

Fun racing tonight, very tricky car to master. I remember just hoping for a mistake up front (because I did NOT have the pace tonight, not that I wish for any of you to fail). I was so awkwardly in and suddenly out of my zone, but it was a really fun and marvelously difficult race even without much traffic. That battle for the lead in the final laps looked intense on the map.

Yea, it was a fun and challenging combo. I did NOT have the pace either. Chocochocochip5 and Dolph Drago finished 4 seconds apart after 90 minutes of racing. Great racing guys.

Yes, it was tense up front at the end. I was on a 1 stop strategy on worn tires with Choco chasing me down with much fresher tires from his 2 stop strategy. Unfortunately I made a mistake and spun on the final lap. :banghead: Honestly, though, I'm not entirely sure I still would have won even if I had not gone off. Choco was making up a ton of time on me through the 2nd sector each lap near the end. I think he would have made the gap back up and either passed me on the final long straight or drafted and taken me at the final chicane. Either way, Congrats on the win, Choco! Great race!

Mistakes helped make the race I think. I had a huge lead before I spun twice on my in-lap of my 2nd stop. That set me up to have to make back up the time. I thought I lost it there on lap 41 when I spun at the start of the 2nd sector. I almost wished that you didn't spin on the last lap so that we could have an actual battle instead of just driving by each other when we wrecked. Still, lots of fun.
Hey @Ph1sher,I found out today that the Outlaws sprint cars are coming to my local track, only 30 minutes away. I'm not sure if I'm going yet though, as the race is in the middle of the week, but I figured you would be interested to hear that. They've come to a bunch of other tracks near me, but those are like an hour away. Might actually be able to go to this one 👍

The outlaws are a blast to watch! I have Dirt Vision season pass so I've watched pretty much every single race this year! If you go maybe I'll just see you on the computer. my brother in law used to pit for schatz and schatz knows me as I've talked to him a couple times again this year as well. Great guy! If you go let us know how it went for you it's a blast! They come up to MN area in June/July if I remember

Big block dirt mods are really big around here, we are family friends with 4 teams from just our town( and we live in the middle of nowhere). Pat Ward and Mike Mahaney are the ones we know best. We have tons of tracks around here too, so there is a pretty big following. We even have a 1 mile track at the Syracuse Fairgrounds, its been on the SPEED channel a couple of times.
The place where the Outlaws are going is a nice little track. Haven't been there in a really long time though.
