Race Recap

Congratulations RacingOtaku86 on the trifecta! Racing Otaku86 got the Pole, Fast Lap, and Race Win. Thanks for showing us how an Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo should be driven. Dolph had a great race as well and kept things interesting with RacingOtaku86 for most of the race. Dolph finished in 2nd Place. Psycho-Tuber (me) had several battles and several crashes and ran off the track several times, but otherwise thoroughly enjoyed racing his Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo around Circuito de la Sierra. Psycho-Tuber (me) finished in 3rd Place. chocochocochip5 had a bumpy ride on the slip and slide finishing in a respectable 4th Place. micantony joy rode his way to 5th Place while trying to figure out if Sport Soft tires were better than Racing Medium tires or if Racing Medium tires were better than Sport Soft tires. Poor Ph7shr had a couple of interruptions. When he wasn't answering a knock at the back door or bombing Pearl Harbor he was gleefully racing his way to a 6th Place finish. Great racing with a tough combo guys!

To be fair, RM set faster lap times, but SS was much more manageable, more predictable and less of that snap oversteer garbage you get sometimes with Racing Tires.:banghead:
Providing, of course, the SS tires were fresh (meaning about 2.5 laps ). After that, they were junk too.

I probably crashed 39 times during the race. But i finished!

Looking at it another way:
5th place overall and 2nd in class! :D

Those snap over steers were probably much more manageable with a DS3. The steering wheel guys (myself included) seemed to have their hands full.

"Crashed 39 Times" uhh  did you just say 39 because that's my Racing Number?

Thrustmaster t300rs. But to program it in gt6, i would have to redo it at the start of every race as pd has the degrees of rotation programmed for each car separately and resets it.

There might be a way to make a permanent change via the pc drivers, i'm not sure.

I figure if i just leave it alone and suffer through the races that it isn't best suited for, it gives the ds3 guys a sense of accomplishment and makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I do really like the wheel and the feedback and sense of realism i get is exceptional. But, that comes at a cost of maybe not being able to maximize certain things for a 'video game'. I could turn some of those forces down so i could quickly countersteer and such, but again, nah:dopey: I like the workout. My shoulders and forearms are getting buff.

Nice writeup! Though I wouldn't go so far as to say I really kept things interesting with Racing...Other than the one lap I was ahead due to pit strategy, he pretty much had my number. :P

Once I got used to the car and track, my DS3 wasn't too bad (D-pad FTW! :D) On worn tires, however...:ill:

How the F do you drive like that with the d-pad? Not even the analog stick? Dude, you're old skool!

I used to be pretty good myself with a ds3, but not the freaking D-pad to steer. Holy digital PS1 crap.

Years and years of using it. Old school indeed. I hate being forced to use it in other racing games (I also don't like the fact that my stick is starting to leak whatever the hell it is (some type of lubricant? glue?))

If you had a G27 I was going to ask you how to change it.

Are you using the program on your pc (driver) to adjust the settings within the firmware on the wheel?

My definition of interesting was if RacingOtaku86 had crashed you may have showed up on his map, assuming he uses the same map I use. Then he might have gotten nervous and crashed again. Then you 2 could have had a battle. You finished +32.908 and your last lap was an 8:40 and his was an 8:25. So, roughly half of the lead he had over you at the finish was made on the last lap. Now, wasn't that interesting? :D

Pictures will be up tonight, Not as many pictures though.

Im 50/50 for this saturdays races. But we will see

Happy Super Bowl Week Turtles!

Hold Start + Select [Middle two on shifter, lower row]
Press one of the four buttons above to change degrees.
Bottom one is 900, left is 400, up is 240, and right is 600

Man, I would love 600° in some instances. Thanks a bunch!
