So close, yet my times just arn't fast enough. Has anyone else had problems with the Complex String Time Trial?

What was the greatest advancement you have made in regards to changing your driving style/driving line to give you the most time advantage?

Have you completed it? What was your time?

My time was 4:59.392, i found that if u buy a Ruf RGT and do the Run and Setting in the home u'll do soo much better!

 I thought that 4:53.??? was the 1st place time. I got like a 4:54.??? something and only got a 2nd place. :(

I never said i got Gold on it Pako, I was just telling you was my time was!

My mistake! I will try your suggestion though. I think I'm going to take the day off tomarrow and dedicated it to GT3 and finish this thing I started 3-months ago. ;)

alright pako , i have completed the time trial and got the panoz , i found the main places to beat the ghost was by doing a lot of corner cutting in the squares and powering into the driving line in the multiple circles before you can see the driving line , just use pure judgement it does work , i know this isn't detailed much but these are the most important time gaining parts to this course in my experience , any more questions feel free to ask mate , hope this helps !!;)

Thanks man!

Yeah it does. That's kind of what I've been doing. Need to get a little more aggresive with it I think. I have to say, before this Time Trial, I really disliked the RUF, but now.......I rather enjoy racin' with it. :D

yeah ! too true , i was exactly the same man , hated the ruf but when using it for a while i started to get quite attached to it , IT GROWS ON YOU !!   you can do it pako , it is only really the fact that it is nearly 5 minute course , it holds you back from putting 100% into an effort but put this aside and you will conquer this monster of a track easily , good luck pako , let me know when you destroy this event!!:D

Thanks you guys for the help. I managed a 4'52.206 which game me a 1st place time and 100% complete for GT3!!!!

*now what?*

CONGRATS PAKO!!!!

Congratulations!!!
*shuffle shuffle* (guy with Mic approaches, and a wad of cash wielding a mickey mouse tie on) Tell us Pako, you've just logged more than 70 hours, and over 10,000 miles, completing one of the most grueling endurances ever. What are you going to do next?

Hey thanks man!!!!

No problem, i wont be there for a while, i am going back to all the race series' and getting the sweet cars. I just got the Gillet and Calibra!

Well....*deep sigh and wiping the sweet of my forehead*, as they say. "...it isn't over till the fat lady sings", and I haven't heard any singing yet. There are other competitions I have yet to master, to get my gold trophies along with international races that I am currently involved with. I imagine I will just race on until *cough MGS2 or FFX cough* something else catches my attention.

I can't forget my gaming room that I would like to build with 6 tv's, 6 PS2, 6 GT3's, and 6 driving booths with logitech controllers for some serious one on one x6 racing!

Wonna play?

Bump, sorry for bumping a 7 year old thread, but better then starting a new one right ? :sly:

Anyway, I only need to cut 2 seconds off the complex string, and I cannot do it for the life of me. The parts I need help on are the squares and the multiple circles. I found that the AI is slow on the slalom so I take it flat out and get ahead by a second or so. But after the squares, he goes ahead by 1 or 2 seconds and I cannot catch up. He is a bit faster on the circles as well.

Can anyone give me some tips on this course ??? Driving lines, tricks .... anything ?

I've just been doing it for 3 hours straight and im gonna pull my hair out.

thx anyone who can help

As I recommended for the Skyline test, do a search for "TT10". Limit it to the GT3 board and subforums. I've definitely done a section-by-section writeup of how I got gold on this time trial.

Jeez, it's been like months since you started here and you're still a "new" member? That's gotta be a record for someone who posts here at GTP semi-regularly but hasn't gone "Active" yet.

I need to change my name lol

Anyway I done it, by the way duke, I was talking about the time attack in arcade mode.

It was easy actually, turned asm off and cut the corners at the squares, managed to finish 2 seconds ahead, could have gone faster though.

It's not your name...look under your name where it says "New Member". After a certain amount of posts, it's supposed to go to "Active Member" ...and then "Senior Member" (I think) and so on....
