Not so sure about how well PP values translate across different drivetrains.
I was wondering this too, I tried the Silvia S15 and could only manage a high 1:04, imperfect lap by me but there still isnt 3 seconds in it even if I managed the perfect setup. I'll try out some FF and 4WD tonight, see if theres an obvious difference.

tried a few different cars and I'm stuck to at low 1:03 now. The STI is interesting since it didn't need a whole lot of mods to get there. Tsukuba as a whole would place a lot of emphasis to being able to go through 3 hairpins and accelerate out, so AWD would be of significant benefit. I got a 964 RS, a Integra Type R, E30 M3 and the STI in the same ballpark....

What are peoples preferred method on reducing PP? ballast, restricting power via ecu, downforce? would like to know if people are starting to spot trends as to the best way to do it.
I think power restrictor, then the ecu, then ballast, and then minor tweaks to fine tune the pp.

Been trying some different cars out, my personal leaderboard is coming along nicely. :)
The Audi really surprised me, with stock settings it dives into turns if you trail brake slightly, on exit just mash the power and it stays stable.

These are the cars that I’ve tried so far, 4WD/AWD seems to be king as of right now. I’m curious as to how allowing customs diffs would shake things up, with all else staying the same. I still don’t think it would close the gap to the AWD cars though.

cribbing notes from Mcsqueegy's setup I am still a whole sec off him but does sort of got my time down quite a bit...

EDIT: Also I clearly entered the sector times wrong lol

Is it possible to load a ghost from a saved replay? I swear I remember doing that in GT Sport but I can't find the option anywhere.

Played around with one of the Subaru's in the used car lot and found a sweet spot in the setup which brought its PP right down, went for more power and got 1'00.491. Wasn't a perfect lap by any means but I'll keep looking for something faster!

Just after that I went back to the first Subaru and took off another second for a 1'00.296

I remember the time in GT6, when in WRS I always talked to myself that I almost got you in the Time Trials, while being 2-3 seconds behind :D

Welp, that's me abandoning the PP system for the next round 🤣

Going to use power/weight ratio, instead.

Americans will have to covert lbs, to kg, to make it work. But, that's their fault for using the wrong system 😎

@d_Menace could you resubmit your lap time? Sheet started to misbehave, and the only way I could get it to format properly, was to remove your time.
Sure I'll add it later when I get the chance to check the game for the weight and bhp :)

btw, is a customisable suspension allowed? Don't see it mentioned, but just to be sure hehe.
Car I used felt decent, but still a bit loose.

Aye, literally anything you want, unless it's specifically mentioned otherwise 👍

This is my best lap so far in an eligible car, 48.005, in the ‘02 Viper GTS. This is the current setup, and the one I set that lap with. I think this will be my car for the week, just needs a bit more tweaking. :)
