Oh, Well damn you rule then. I mean I'm pretty much a cheapskate, but you take the cake.
That haul with the Summer/Zee cars (plus a couple of Corgi and HW) was 80 cents. I'm pretty good at digging things up. Managed to find the green Brabham-Repco redline for free once. :dopey:

Yeah go to hell. Redlines for free, wtf.

I agree Andy, I find it ridiculous, too. Even if those buyers were dishonest, what are the odds? If I were you, from now on, pad the international shipping, insure everything.

While the Global Shipping Program is only for US sellers, I definitely will up the shipping class in the future. I get too caught up thinking about the buyer that I was willing to put myself at risk... and it looks like I will be paying for it. I shouldn't even be flipping out having rationalized all that.

I can choose not to refund them, but if eBay will forcibly do it anyway and leave a mark on my record, I'm better off just making the refund myself. As a last act of desperation, I'll try and guilt trip these 4 buyers into being honest when the item arrives.

Posted this in the scale model thread, I think this thread and its users can help me too.

'Ertl' used to do 'The Fall Guy' GMC pickup, but your best bet is asking @Cano .

[EDIT]

Hot wheels 'Bywayman' truck, is pretty close too.

Actually, the doctor is right, the Bywayman has some cool rubber tire variations:

Ertl did several versions of this truck in several scales, here is my fave:

But all are evasive as they are a bit old.

Matchbox has this stepside:

of which several variations have been released, you can go pick one up at your supermarket for $1 right now.

Partially right :D

@a6m5
I guess I'll wait!

I did a search on eBay for the heck of it. They are damn near non-existent. Note: The search narrowed it down, but not all meet the criteria.

Cano's Matchbox may be the only accessible "model" of those trucks right now. Unreal.

I would communicate with eBay first. I do think that if these buyers file, eBay will take the money out of your wallet to refund these guys, but it wouldn't hurt to let eBay know of the situation anyway. At least this way, you can have eBay draw you a picture on exactly what the ideal course of action is.

P.S. Once you issue a refund, I fully expect the buyers to receive the items(if they hadn't already), I also fully expect them to keep the refund. Stuff like honesty, honor, courtesy, integrity, they go right out the window with many people. Exactly why I value transactions with certain sellers like this guy & this guy on eBay. Also, boogytoo on TTP(he's done selling for now, unfortunately). When things go south, you often really see their character.

I had one late Tomica Toyota bB from Hong Kong. Item showed up weeks after I received the refund from eBay. I contacted the seller about paying them back. The entire time, I never heard from the seller. Thinking back, I almost wonder if that refund came from eBay, not the seller? I don't know. Good luck.

P.P.S. I almost forgot, I know you weren't impressed with Marc from TTP on some transaction before, but I saw this post this morning. He has that white Stingray concept or whatever you've been after from the HW Garage series. Just don't touch anything I plan on buying, because I don't want to kill you. :P
Thanks I appreciate it. :P
Darn it, I should have posted the pics upside down.
I've seen the pictures, but I need to see it for myself, ya know? :D

@a6m5 . . . . who are all these people? Are you to blame?

I snuck into Dollarama recently under threat of being loudly and soundly whammed to get these goodies. Just proves how much of a staunch collector I am, braving such circumstances to get these - but anyway was rewarded with no whamming but another bathyscaphe instead.

Does the Charger cop car have a lightbar?

This why powerless me can't do anything other than to indiscriminately hate on others in frail hope it will change the way they think.

I don't know if I mentioned this already, but I sold my Stingray Concept collection a while ago. So there's no need to worry about that anymore. You can put that knife away, Asian.

I have a large collection of police/law enforcement vehicles. Makes for a stunning diorama when I get into the mood.

They're usually chasing some street racer. ;) Or clumped around the Mayor. That blue limo is his.

Had a really great 'collector's moment' recently - reminiscent of those serendipitous moments that only Cano or the Panda are capable of:

I noticed when walking through the offices late one evening that there was a pile of HWs on the desk of one of the staff - didn't know her well but had done the usual smile and nod and so on. I peeked through them quick and noticed an Olds Aurora as well as a Lotus variation I didn't have and also a First Ed Ford Focus. This got me all excited. How to get them off her?
Next day I went armed with 5 MBXs - all nice ones, too - and nabbed her before she left the office.
She was at her seat, HWs still in the pile on her desk.
"Hey, hi! Are you a collector, too? " I asked brightly pointing at the HWs.
"Collector?" She looks at me like I'm speaking a foreign language.
"Ah! I thought you were. I collect HWs," I said. "Got over three thousand of 'em. Started when I was a little boy, y'know?"
"Oh! Take them!" she says shoving the pile in my direction.
"No, no," I say hastily. "I'll trade you for them."
She again gives me that 'you're speaking funny' look. "Trade?"
Yeah, " I said. "Trade. You know, trade, like collectors do. We trade."
"Oh! Like Pokemon!" she said like suddenly hearing the Babelfish.
"Yeah," I agreed, not even sure what I was agreeing to - all I wanted was the cars.
"Here," I said, giving her the bag of MBXs. "I just need three of them - I have the others. There's five in here in return."
"Oh! You didn't have to," she says looking into the bag.

End result - turns out another person in the office had given her the cars for her nephew (for Christmas) but since I multiplied the loot (more cars) it was okay. Everybody happy all around and I scooted out of there quick.

Dang, I wanted that Olds the moment I saw it. the Lotus sweetened the deal. I might or might not have the Focus - got to check my First Ed box - but still a good find for a future trade if I had doubles.
Thrill of the trade. And that's, in a sense, what collecting is all about in a nutshell. The thrill of the score. Serendipity is a huge part of it.

Every time I look at those three cars now I'll remember that moment.

I'm jealous now that I'm reading that post.

That would have been considerate of you but I'm used to everything being posted the wrong way up by now.

Don't you already have the Toyko auto show version? It's the same car Shinji!

I blame Dr. Nessy. If he'd only do a better job......
So, anyone remember the Tomica Limited Zent Toyota Supra I mention about a month or so ago? No? Well, it came in. Looks really good.
We do remember, and we appreciate the multiple pictures. Mo pics, mo better. 👍

It's bidness(no pun intended). Charge them full for the shipping, ship only insured, call it good. 👍

Why! Why! Why! Why! Why! Why!

On a serious note, I just participated in the sale & other than one car that sold before the sale started(RLC car for $10, so...), I got everything I was eyeing. Very happy.

I don't know about you guys, but this is the best story I've ever read in this thread.:lol:

You got it all wrong, my good man. Those pics have the images posted right side up.

:P

No! Unique front-end makes all the difference. You can't trick me, Jarrodji!
K'nex Display shelf completed!
It looks like you may have a Lego-mold problem in your home. j/k No, it looks much better than anticipated. 👍
Makes me a bit jealous :P but damn is that a helluva shelf.
jtl46's wall display pwns, but then again, he's major league.

Still waiting for that eBay seller to send the total through...
Some Chinese sellers refuses to discount any considerable amount on combined shipping, just ask Andy about his eBay negotiations. Hopefully the delay's just due to holiday.

*For some reason, I thought it was a Chinese seller(maybe because I was guessing CM's, they have lot of CM's). My bad. lol

Deep, Harry. Deep. I can just picture her going ".............. trade?" "Like Pokemon!"
Nah the seller is from Iowa and mentioned combined shipping, probably is just holidays.
I take it back, it's not the CM's. It's Auto World, maybe Greenlight hitch things, what do I win!?
