That'll be enough, thank you. Guess I shouldn't underestimate your resolve and knowledge, haha.

But seriously, thanks, I'll also keep those in mind if I ever get to buy a 1/64 F355. The more the merrier, it reminds of that time when Cano posted about a metric ton of Miuras in an answer to one of my posts (IIRC)... 👍

And speaking of Mr. Can;

About 1/100 I'd say. They're called Capsule Tomica.

Darn, 1/100? That's much smaller than the Sikus I have (they're about 1/87). And that is a Capsule Tomica... So it's that sort of thing that one would find in a vending machine and such. Thanks for clarifying that one. 👍

On the topic of the 458 that Kakashi shared, I agree with the opinion that the wheels are rubbish. They just feel tacky, and do not suit the car at all. That's the sort of thing I'd see in a Chinese knock-off of a 458, not a Ferrari-licensed product such as the Bburago (yes, I know Bburagos are made in China, shush.). The rest is decent, but I don't think it's enough when you see what Kyosho did with their Ferrari models...

What Sikus are 1/87? Most seem to be 1/55, which is even larger than Hot Wheels.

My mistake; there are actually three different sizes of Sikus, some are 1/87, some are 1/55 and then there are slightly bigger models. Mines are around 1/55, I believe.

The 1:64 Bburago Ferrari singles cost around 6 USD in SRP in major toy stores. It's quite steep considering the casting's detailing and proportions.

Dear god what the flying hell. Incredible.

I think you're thinking about Schuccos.

Also, new page! Eat this, @Apok

I must be having an off day today, never mind that one. :dunce:

Nice vintage Sikus though, I'd "borrow" them both from you. Especially dat Audi, you don't see those often, and yours looks really nice to boot. Minor paint damage aside, it looks pretty darn solid. I wouldn't mind having that Merc estate either. Were they cheap?

I must have that Audi *checks eBay Deutschland*
Okay, maybe not.

Though your Mercedes appears to be broken. It's in some weird plastic container thing. :sly:

With that out of the way, I recently got a box from Canada! It was from @AOS- and some of you might get a kick out of these.
Heck, I'm not sure where to start.
Mainline HW's anyone?

IMG_6930.jpg

Only E30 I had was turned into a custom. This will do nicely as a 'before' comparison.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I got three of these.

IMG_6944.jpg

Missed this one when it released.

IMG_6942.jpg

Jaaaaaag

IMG_6940.jpg

Japanese cars that I don't have. Nice.

IMG_6933.jpg

Lotuses that I don't have. Nice.

IMG_6934.jpg

A Porsche and a Porsche. Also quite nice. I like the slant nose 930. The Maisto... I'm not sure how Andy convinced me to buy it. It was probably free.

IMG_6925.jpg

Now this one I was pretty upset that stores never got them here. I knew I'd have to get it online eventually.

Okay, okay, I know by now half of you may have fallen asleep. However, I haven't kept you all waiting for nothing!
The following is what really caused the whole sale to happen and has, for your own safety, been concealed by spoiler tags (also I don't want to spam the thread with a bunch of pictures more than I already have.)

CM's! CM's for all!
Actually no, the CM's are just for me! Yes, meee! :D

A Lancia.

IMG_6904.jpg

IMG_6906.jpg

And a Lancia.

IMG_6907.jpg

IMG_6908.jpg

And also this Lancia.

IMG_6909.jpg

IMG_6910.jpg

And finally (for the CM's) A freakin' Lancia!

Not having spent enough money, I also nabbed this Kyosho.

IMG_6911.jpg

IMG_6912.jpg

This concludes the good stuff. :P

But wait there's a little bit more!

IMG_6927.jpg

My M1 collection went from 0 to 2! Car-azy! (Both will likely be brutally massacred and turned into more appealing M1s.)

Andy also decided to shower me with a bunch of his unneeded trash.

IMG_6950.jpg

👍
So many projects to never finish, wowzers!

As you can all see, Andy is a pretty good salesman. I'm pretty sure I forgot something too. Hmm.
Anyway, big thanks to Andy. This filled an annoying CM's shaped hole I had in my collection. :D

(I realize that by spoiler tagging the good stuff some may have completely missed them. Oopsie!)

Quadruple curse you for having so many goddamm Lancias, Apok. Give a poor man a break, please!

Why do I get this feeling that I actually have a HW Stratos, somewhere in my house's attic? Hmm... Well, that aside, a great series of purchases, someone had money to spend.

And for one last time, curse you.

Leave me alone. I couldn't get myself to open it, such a survivor. Whenever an open mint one lands into my hands I'll flip this one for a pretty good coin.

That sad sad saddddd moment when you realize that, due to lack of money, all the cars you wanted to buy off the canadian guy are now in... where the heck do you live? Zlovenia? Does that exist?

Really, go to hell. You have all my cars now.

That's Slovenia with a S, chico. Not Zlovenia. Sorry, I couldn't help but to play the grammar police here.

And those were meant to be yours, and once belonged to AOS before that? What!? Man, I wish I had the money too for that one, dangit.

I did you a favor, you have too many cars anyway. :sly:

Nah. @AOS- wanted to sell stuff and offered them to me. I told him I didn't have money at the time due to $400 TLV bill. Now they're in Xlovenia.

I did you a favor, you have too many cars anyway. :sly:

Eh, wouldn't mind a few more of those, it's not like they are 100 cars or so such. Alas, I have some Minichamps waiting for me with Ahmed, so my money will die anyway.

I'll also keep those in mind if I ever get to buy a 1/64 F355.

Try to avoid the older Kyosho Ferraris... I'm talking the first and second releases. Maybe even the third.

big thanks to Andy.

No no no. Thank you for clearing up a chunk of my stuff.

That Maisto was most likely a freebie, but I do recall you saying something along the lines of "just gimme all your damn Porsches already".

Or maybe my memory is fuzzy. :P

Anyway, I'm glad it arrived and thank you for taking the time to showing them off.

Sorry man, I gave you lots of time but you went spending elsewhere! :(

If I could take all my unwanted HWs, put them in some kind of high-pressure compressing tool to squeeze compact dozens of cars into one dense ball, I'd totally make myself a billiards/pool/snooker set and auction it for good moolah to high-rollin' HW collectors.

As I mentioned quite awhile ago I picture you as a guy in a white lab coat, goggles on his face and a blowtorch in his hand. :dopey:
There is a mountain of HWs creeping up the walls of the room.
TBH, though, if you actually turned all that creativity (and the amount of techno-knowhow that you've gathered along the way) into starting a 'boutique' of diecast-related stuff - keytags, yeah, 💡 snooker balls, (Can you crush all the red Ferraris into a 3 ball for me? ) and many other things - paperweights, tie-clips, bookends . . . only your imagination limits you. :)
Take 'Handy's Diecast Boutique' online and keep at it and sooner or later you have a thriving site. Create a space for the Community and before you know it you would be master of your domain.

Spent a good hour looking for locals that offer some kind of compacting service and videos on making my own kiln. I'll have to keep this on my backlog.

Just don't blow yourself up or set fire to the house. Apart from that - best of luck, buddy! :) 👍

Go home now, ok? :irked:

As you can all see, Andy is a pretty good salesman.

Yeah, blame it on Andy. Actually - I've dealt with Andy, too, he's really great; packages everything so well, always throws something extra in to take you by surprise, is quick about delivery and so on, and is definitely a pleasure to deal with. It's great fun to see members actually deal and trade with each other. And collectors acquiring cars that are easy to get in one place but so difficult to get in another - that makes this thread not only enjoyable but thoroughly functional, too, in the best of possible ways.
Nice post, Apok - all right, I'll admit it. :D

Melting an entire car -metal and plastic together- may make things easier, but I'd have to go spend the money on making a kiln, a cast that can withstand high temperatures, and all that stuff.

I had another idea where I dump a pile into a rectangular cast, and with heat and pressure, compress a pile of these toys into one flat surface. Hang it on a wall, use as a floormat, table top, etc.. Certainly a lot easier than a cube I imagine. :/

I should log all my ideas somewhere and keep it in a backlog. Edit: Done. PivotalTracker. :D

'Handy's Diecast Boutique'

Don't think I didn't see that pun!

I posted a 'painting' I did once, and it was entirely out of muscle cars, some years ago in here - you may remember that.
There is so much one can do - and I'm saying: there is a market out there for it.

Oh! Yeah.

Oh man that thing's nice.
Shame about the rusty axle.

Indeed. Wonder if there is a way to clean that stuff without destroying the wheel or its paint. I'm betting no.

No complaining thou, it cost me like $2.

I've been chasing those VW buses over here to no avail. They're very very cool.
They are very nicely done quality wise as well. Can't get much better for the $6 I paid. (each) My favorite is the red one from Field of Dreams, since I am a big fan of the movie.
