I've been trying to find them on stores rather than paying the $10 they usually cost in resale, but it's proving very very difficult as anticipated. But for these, I might just cave in and pay, because they are indeed excelent.

Well here's another one coming to look for. :P

Hey, it's the Stealth Samba Van. Why did GT5 not feature a car like this I'll never know.

But you are right, that is worth waiting for. Very simple in concept, but still somehow good looking...

You can get one in Fiery Red if you like, @photonrider, I can assure you of that one, as the owner of a red HW Lotus Espirit... ;)

Also, nice 1:55 car, although I'm not a fan of the rear wheels' size (it looks a bit too big for my taste...).

I do have them in other colours, but not with one that actually says 'James Bond 007' on the card. That came in from the cold.

You're not supposed to eat the wheels, Niku. :ouch:
BTW - are you over 3 years old? These things are forbidden to kids who put stuff in their mouth. :mischievous:

Well, you never know. Tomorrow Never Dies, right? :sly:  Besides, I bet that type of Esprits will command a higher price tag due to... well, being 007 Espirits, no?

Wait, I don't... ok, I deserve that one, for my poor choice of words (or giving you enough leash to bounce back with that answer, one of the two). I just don't really like the way the wheels look, they are too big for the car in my honest opinion.

And just for the record, I don't eat actual scale model wheels. I prefer to eat more delicious things, like pizza or hamburgers. You know, things that aren't made of plastic and belong on my scale model cars... ;)

I'd buy at least three of that 2000GT Roadster, yes. And probably about two of each of those DeLoreans, of course. Too bad they'll probably spike in price after only a few months days...

I came across a very interesting article on the Lamley blog, which I'm sure some have already noticed; a Matchbox designer came up with an idea to solve one of the most infamous Hot Wheels problems: the dreaded "uplifiting chin"... Sadly, his solution will take some thinking to be properly implemented in the lines of production, but you can read more about that in the article itself:

There ought to be a way to keep it to the stubborn 4-piece rule.

Nitro Doorslammer had its ladder bar thing that could either stay tucked in underneath the body, or folded out. It had a clip that could hold it in place, and this was all a 1-piece base.

I guess exploiting loopholes such as that one might be the only way (so far) to clear that pesky regulation. It requires some side-line thinking to work around those limitations, yes.

On a related note, I must express my most sincere congratulations for the designer behind that MBX car; it just goes to show that the people who work for Matchbox are quite aware of the faults of cars that aren't even Matchbox cars themselves. The quirks of working for the Mattel Group, I guess.

I already commented on the facebook post, but it just simply will not work for licensed cars without making them look goofy, which is really no different than how bad they look now. Doesn't bother me though, less cars to buy.

----------------------------

Speaking of buying cars, stopped at my local Walmart tonight for a few things and there were L case cars on the pegs including a lonely single Zamac Mercury Cougar, which worked great for me since that's the only one I needed. There were a few of the Tesla Model S's but I passed since Mattel ruined it.

L case came at a different Walmart that I usually go to.image.jpgno THs think I got every good car that I know of. I checked the bin and pegs. My store hasn't gotten any cases with Brian's escort. No Model S if that was a L case car.

Some stores will just hang the cases on the pegs and not put the bin out. My store is currently doing this since they still have the Marvel and Porsche bins out and no room for another one.

The store that I go to just dumps them in the old bin that they have they also put them on the pegs if it gets full.
