Indeed. Lamely in fact. Just stuff I liked. Ha .He doesn't have it, just got the photos from somewhere.
That was apparently a mistake, and it's most likely a 2016 carI thought that Datsun wasn't out until September.
Tomica Subaru Levorg:
That's 1:64? Dayuum!
Ha no, I swore I typed it, but I guess not. Muust have been typing so fast I missed it. Oh well .Firebird is an M2 in case you got it mixed up.
Had a feeling this set might become stupid rare, so dropped the $$ back in 2011. Forward to 2015 and yep, it's pretty much nonexistent everywhere. The castings are not unique, but the trim levels and colors are.
Never knew that there could be a 4-car TLV set, and that one is quite interesting and cool. Although the castings are not unique, I'd get that set just for the black Mazda Cosmo Turbo alone.
How much $$$ did you drop on that, if you don't mind me asking?
It was in the $90 range, which isn't too bad for 4 TLV cars. There was only one seller to choose from even back then, so I didn't argue.
In addition to the new metallic black, the Cosmo has a few detail upgrades over the standard issue, such as the "MAZDA" logo printed on the grille, which LV-N02 lacks.
Well, when you can find at least one seller with the set, spending 90 bucks doesn't hurt as much as it can. Nowadays, as you've said, finding a similar set is nearly impossible, especially with that price tag...
Also, the black Cosmo actually has additional detailing? Interesting, guess TLV wanted to make the Turbo castings more distinctive compared to the "normal" TLV line. Does that happen with any of the other three cars in the set?
The Cosmo upgrades are just to the graphics, nothing in the physical casting itself. Can't speak as to the other 3, because I don't own any of the standard issues for comparison. I would guess with the Cosmo being the earliest, it had more room for improvement.
EDIT (pictures):
Front side-by side.
The level of detail is over the top. Note the flat black rub strip on a metallic black car.

Outstanding set - and nice photo, too! 👍
Is the white car a Toyota Crown? I used to own a Crown many years ago and that looks close to it.
