Scalping has been a lot more common in my area lately. Gotta love it.

Speaking of scalpers, back in 2011 I think when the 55 Belair Gasser was first released, I was at Kmart a week after a collector event took place. We needed some stuff for the house so while my mom was off grabbing that I went to the tools then the Hot Wheels aisle. An older guy in his 40s or 50s had 10 Gassers in his cart. He was at the opposite end of the aisle and all of a sudden I got hit by a flying carded car while I was looking at what was hanging on the pegs. I bent down to pick it up and it turned out to be the Gasser and with a pretty decent amount of damage from the toss and landing. He said "you :censored:ing keep that" and angrily left the aisle. As for the Gasser that he threw at me, it didn't matter since it was going for a custom (which still isn't done yet years later :lol:) and I already had the keeper for the collection.

Breaking my heart man lol
Good way, bad way, or both?
Anyone else got thes Captain America ones?
I feel like I've seen them somewhere, but I don't have any.

Somebody on twitter was calling this BMW M1. Is it? I had this great idea that they should have done this instead:

I fully expect them to get scalped hard here like the recent Redline Gasser.
Gasser was abnormally strong scalper magnet though. Like Datsun 510/Bluebird. Benzo will be popular, but my guess; The challenge would have more to do with poor distribution than with scalpers/hoarders.

Did you respond accordingly? Like, "thanks, you ###### ######", or "thanks, you ##### ## #### ###### ######"? Because you should have.

This was my first M2 Hauler, somebody should buy it. It's cool.

Listing says rear door's off, but if it's like mine, rear door on mine was off, too. It just pops back in. My blogpost on this set.

M1 Procar. 👍
I am so disappointed, but thank you. :D Man, when I first saw that casting from another angle, I thought it was Pantera. Then I couldn't believe that Hot Wheels doesn't have DeTomaso in the lineup yet. I do have the Matchbox version, but it doesn't really do it for me.

I wish I would've to be honest with you. Instead I looked up in his direction but he was already on his way out, so it just kinda a "well okay then" I said to myself.

And apparently a little kid in the "monkey see, monkey do" phase saw him throw the car, because a mom came out from behind me with a kid in the buggy and he started grabbing and throwing Matchbox cars on the floor as they were passing them. Either that or it was just a coincidence.

That was my first as well. I more or less got it just because of the car itself.

And a fun fact about the fastback Cuda, up until January 20th, I had never seen a real one in person. I've seen every Mopar car one could see in person except for the fastback Cuda. And going back to diecast, those cars are some of my favorites to collect, ironically for that reason.

Or that you do actually live in Somalia & it's common practice there, throwing everything on the floor! jk

I don't know anything about old cars, so I never realized that they were so rare in real life. Glad to hear that you have one of these haulers. It's a fantastic release by M2!

M2 has a lot of nice stuff if you ask me, but the haulers usually look the best. Or maybe that's just my inner little kid going "yay more stuff!!!" :D

I really don't like the wheels Majorette use now and I can't quite put my finger on why. They look cheap to me.

Also is it just here that they're far too expensive?

I've got several now that are easily of the old Majorette standard and I've still got old Majorettes to directly compare the two. Some look clunky, but IMO, that's the newer stuff like the F-Type. They're better at £1 depicting everyday cars than £2.50 depicting sports cars.

I had a feeling that the R33 must have been based on an actual car, wasn't sure about the Cosmo though. Awesome.

No way. You didn't know the R33 and Cosmo had police liveries IRL?

edit:

Snap. Sold my 3 extra Teslas. With all things accounted for; shipping, fees, yada yada, I actually profited $8.41! Yes!

Another TLV streetcar has popped up on Yahoo Japan. There was a bit of interest when I posted mine a few weeks ago, so here's the heads-up. They almost never appear and this one is currently less than a dollar.

Am I the only one who's bothered by the realistic wheels on the R33 Skyline Patrol Car & Luce Patrol car posted by @Casey ? How do Tomytec decide when they give us wheels worthy on a $20+ car, or set that looks at home on a $2 car?

When they give you amazing rims, they are not really charging a whole lot. When they give you those wheels rivaling the Matchbox car wheels, they aren't giving you price breaks either. It does not compute for me.

Just my opinion, but I think the decision is made by China and there's not a whole lot they can do about it.

I know that the Chinese crew handles much of the design, but I'd be shocked if the final "go ahead" doesn't come from Japan? Of course, I suppose that cost projection has to come from China. I don't know.
