You know, despite all this "mismatched rims" business (I know, I know, it has already been explained, no need to re-grab the ol'drag car explanation ;)), I'm really liking this Polara casting. Especially with the red, makes the rims look a little less plasticky in my view. And the hood delivers in one accurate thing; it's definitely a wedge... 👍

I just once again got a call from my friend while he was looking for cars. This time he said the store he's in only has one employee working right now and there's 20 people not including him and his uncle waiting in line.

Out of curiosity this has made me wonder, how many times if at all have any of you fellow collectors experienced this? For me personally, I've been in this situation three or four times before and even witnessed a customer cussing out an employee for a half hour wait she had. :nervous:

Majorette just launched these. I need that Nissan VGT!

Luckily the average folk here isn't as materialistically driven as the average American.... also there are less collectors, let alone crazy people.

Also, fair warning on current Majorette cars: the wheels they come in can literally vary in size. Some cars will have massive wheels and sport a tall ride height. The build quality is also quite questionable from my experience of seeing them in person.

I could definitely get behind a few of these. Majorette seems a strange choice to go after these cars, but it's sure better than the HW effort of barely featured cars in the series.

It's a shame I'm missing out on all the new Auto World cars. Nobody around here keeps current stock, the pegs are always empty or have a few old cars hanging. Then eBay prices are just getting ridiculous. Ugh.
I know that feeling to an extent. What you said is how the two out of three total local Walmarts in my area are with AWs 95% of the time. The third Walmart just simply doesn't carry Auto Worlds.

Good ole green stripes.

About the same here. Fortunately, last AutoWorld stuff I had to have were those Galaxies & I got them online when I saw them for about $6, shipped. Good thing too, because I never saw them in my area.
Hobby shop score. They had classics!
I was trying to check to see how much I paid for my "Classics", but they are so old I couldn't find the records.

Good news was accidentally running into this in my email box. Apparently getting rare, because they are scarce, even on eBay. Good news for me when I unload my collection. :P

Malibu TH looks like a super.
Nice haul, Merc and Ford are the best imo.
Malibu has a metal base but is a regular th.

Good ole green stripes.

Every car was $2. $25 for the whole lot.

I now checked into how much the Vintage Racing Hot Wheels are? My cars have at least doubled in prices. AMC Javelin's actually going for $70+!!(see how much I paid, shipping was combined :embarrassed:)

Only one that didn't at least double in value was "Imai Motors" Galaxie. I always thought Imai name was bit much on classic American stockcars. I wonder if it affected its collectible value.

I want to say that I paid $2 to $3, plus shipping. I got them from a online store called Milezone. I wish I could find out how much I'm into them for(might try logging on to milezone, if they are back in business).

Edit: Looks like they are still pretty much out of diecast/hotwheels business. I was able to log in, but they had no record of my past orders. I ended up buying these cars here instead:

I had 87 cents worth of points, so I was able to knock it down under $17(shipping's ridiculous). I've been wanting that Matchbox U.S. Mail truck for years!

$70+ dollars!? That is ridiculous. The most recent one on ebay sold for under $40 with shipping (though two also sold for $80*coughcoughmoneylaunderingcoughcough*).

I think you're right about the Imai Motors Galaxie. The lack of real, historical livery doesn't make for much demand.

It's funny. When that very Galaxie was in the stores, I never cared for it because of its livery. But now I want that car... because of its livery! Funny how things change over time.

I did see the auction listing one, which is why I don't do low starting bid auction listings. I got burned probably 100% of the time. I see even big, popular seller like Japan Booster get burned from time to time, where items slips for way below market value.

Popularity of Hot Wheels as collectible's on the rise though. I've been looking to unload my collection, but I've decided to hang onto the good stuff after what I've seen today. Very lucrative.

One I'll never sell. I asked for free shipping & got it 3 years ago. I uncarded it, but you couldn't buy a loose one that cheap today. :D

I never saw it in stores. I do agree on the livery, I like it. Just too bad the value didn't double or more like the other ones. :D I looked at the AMC Javelin just now & I can see why it got crazy popular. It's unbelievably cool in person. 👍

I believe the Javelin is a Trans Am car, and assuming it is, it's hard to find a vintage Trans Am car that doesn't look awesome. Especially the Posey Challenger.

Yup, the Hot Wheels Historic Trans Am cars are amazing. Greenlight and Johnny Lightning had a few. Despite being slightly more accurate, they were missing that something special.

I'm just glad I have all the Historic Trans Am vehicles from the Vintage Racing and 2012 Racing lines. Well, except for the Datsun BRE. That was in a different liter class and not a pony car.

Agreed, but this is what I was referring to:
that something special.
I have couple of the GreenLight version(single + diorama), but man, the Hot Wheels casting & livery work are spot on. Just beautiful. I almost want to keep it & uncard it, but it'll be hard to do with the high price tag. Then again:
Well, except for the Datsun BRE.
I did uncard that.

Here is the Ferrari 365 GTS4 that I previously told you about.

I bought this because I wanted a Ferrari 365 GTB4 model and unfortunately, the black 365 GTB4 I bought came with a missing side indicator. It was either this or a yellow Daytona (the one with the perspex headlight cover), and I chose this because I thought Ferraris looked best in red. After all, what other colour should a Ferrari come in? :P

Therefore, this is my first red Ferrari. I bought this at ~10.3 USD (80 HKD, to be precise), and I bought another Ferrari at that time, though it is 50% more expensive. Like all other Kyoshos, the quality is fine on this car, and here are the pics:

A pic with the Competizione:

And 2 additionals:

A preview at my next model...

No, I still haven't opened and assembled it. I fear that opening the blister would mean depreciation in the car's value, even though I know perfectly well that I won't sell it.

I forgot to respond to this. When I "hunted" for like a year or so, I saw this late in the evening sometimes, always at Walmart. These days, I almost never encounter such a problem. I still go to my local Walmart, but that one's fairly well staffed.
OMG dude, do you reside on a resort or something? j/k Amazing view.👍
Just found.
I want the Batmobile, but we are still getting the old Mystery packs. :(
