Thoughts on the Tomica Ford GT?

It could have been a nice addition in the Premium line.

And it doesn't have that weird plastic rear quarter panel thing like the HW model has.

I'm not sure about the lower front portion. It's obviously part of the lower budgets used for basic Tomicas, no doubt. Maybe it'd look better if it were to be a Premium model...

Anyhow, these are the next Tomica Premiums:

Oh that Jota is simply beautiful. As a Miura fan, I approve this recreation with a 120% satisfaction rating.

What? There's also this blue sedan thing made by a sister company of Toyota? Sorry, didn't see it. I'm just seeing red right now... :sly:

Yep, that Jota is a must have. My friend was "holy crap an NBR STI" though :(

Hopefully the Subaru's insanely large GT Wing will have a firm and straight fit. If it's wobbly, then it may be a deal breaker.

And the AMG VGT is something I'll look out for:

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. And in your friend's case, his strokes are Boxer-powered ones...

There's also the Infiniti, which is a darn good casting too;

And I don't mind it much, but Inspector Bonsai jii-san would write the Mercedes off just because of the paint alone... (isn't that true @a6m5-san? :sly: )

Walked into my local Walmart last night after work to see if anything was new. First thing I noticed is that the place was shockingly spotless. There was another guy already there. Quick peek at what was in his hands revealed an M2 Japan car so I made my way over there. All I saw was one of the yellow 510's and unfortunately it had typical M2 QC issues so I put it back. Can never catch a break. :(

Finally found a set of the M2 Auto-Japan cars! Doubles of everything except the stock Bluebird. Left one set behind, meanwhile every other local collector is trying to scalp them. The local group I run already had people trying to sell just 3 cars from the whole set for $40....

Luckily these ones were at a Walmart that almost never updates. So not many local collectors hit it up.

Also stopped by Target to find these.

$24 + $7 shipping. Does that $50 free shipping thing apply for those of us, down here?

Maybe, one day.
Definitely look into that. I love Japan Booster so much.

Since I buy the newest TLVs from amiami & I already own majority of older TLVs I coveted, I don't buy a whole lot from Japan Booster anymore. Without them however, I wouldn't have most of these older TLVs in my collection. They are just the best, and Lamley's the best for promoting them worldwide.

Today, I kiss ass extra special, because I was just checking my emails & I saw eBay notification that these were available for sale:

I've wanted this Crown for several months now, when Japan Booster had them on auction. I couldn't afford the stupid thing then, as I got outbid, I don't remember how much it went up to. Maybe $60-something. Well, today, they had these cars listed fixed price for $45 or something like that & I got the last one. I get these emails first thing in the morning, it's almost 6:30pm, so I can't believe there was one left for me. :embarrassed:

Yes, I think we get another Crown Police car from preorder this month, but that one has lame looking roof light, not this vintage classic. I also added two cars I already had on standby in the eBay shopping cart:

Cool beans. I just unloaded bad investment on eBay this morning, so this purchase cost me maybe $10 for the difference. Lucky day.
Not quite. Still need that flatbed hitch & tow. Perhaps your very first Green Machine. Also don't forget that Black Bandit version I PM'd you earlier. :dopey:
No comment.
They are the best.

It looks like a surface of a rock.

Doable.

My 510 rally car did have scraped headlamps. I swung by Walmart on the way home, and it's still old everything. It's crazy. Kroger had Beatles cars they didn't have when I was in there two days ago. Guess which cars were already gone. I just hope they went to Beatles fans & collectors, but probably more likely they went to the scalpers & hoarders. :(
Doubles of everything except the stock Bluebird.
Unreal. 👍
Picked up one of the Japan M2's.
I love the photos, especially the TLV figure is an awesome touch. Would you let me share it on my blog? That would be so awesome...

Definitely look into that. I love Japan Booster so much.

First off, have I ever mentioned that you're a bad influence? And think I've only ever bought one or two things from Japan Booster before but yes, top quality seller. 👍

I had to look it up, to remind myself what the roof light on the new one looked like. It does bare an uncanny resemblance to Toad from Super Mario. And what's that Prince Clipper truck, that looks pretty cool. Nice scores with the other two as well.

Touche.👍

Thanks @Casey : M2 Skyline

Seriously, throw $50 worth of cars in there as a test, see if you get a free shipping. It's a good deal to get old cars. I just want what's best for you..... r collection. :P

OMG. Yeah, sort of, but how did you come up with that.

Love that blue truck. Thanks!
I'm the Jeff Daniels. That's cool. I might like him even more than Jim Carrey. :D

You're assuming that I haven't done that already....
I haven't. :P

Stop putting ideas into my head!

Sure you do.👍

You can't deny that it doesn't!

I'll never be able to look at it the same way again.:crazy:

And speak of the devil, I just got the invoice in for this one.

As expected, a blunt answer straight to the point. Good to see your hatred for paint flakes hasn't died down... :sly:

But the Infiniti looks a bit better in your eyes, surely?
It doesn't do it for me. If they painted the AMG with the paint they used on Infiniti, it would've been meh for me. Not too excited about these cars to be honest.

I guess they don't meet your... Vision, really. (ha. :dopey: ) But joking aside, fair enough, to each their own. Not a concept car guy, or is the Vision project just not exciting for you?

Yay/nay/cray/touche?
Nope.
While you guys are ragging on poor Toad,
Little things that amuses us. Seriously though, I did wonder if the casting had been maybe updated, but I didn't realize that it was a all-new casting. Very cool. 👍

Edit:
As such the nose had to be lengthened ahead of the front wheels.
I just got on Twitter & one of the Japanese collectors I follow was also pointing out the difference to me:

I used to like concept cars when I was younger, but these days, I've shifted towards vintage, classic vehicles. I still like most newer vehicle models, especially if the quality is high(Oversteer Mazdas, Enif Crown, Bugzees64, TLV-Neos, etc.).

It's kind af a double-whammy, because the new patrol car adds a new nose onto the new Crown casting from a couple years back. The previous Crown police cars were based on the old Crown casting which was from the early days of TLV and not as accurate. For proof look at the side window pillars on the early car (left) and notice how crude and thick they are compared to the new release on the right.

Good eye! I still prefer the look of the older casting though. I've been fond of it from the very first one I bought(off-white/red). The first pic you posted mentioned "completely new casting", but you think it's still partially based on the casting from couple years back?

I just paid my invoice for the new Crown partrol last night, so I'll be able to check this new casting in little over a week or so. I can't wait! :embarrassed:

I believe from reading the description, it's just a new nose added on. I was just struck by the fact that it wasn't simply a new paint job, but actually some different sheetmetal. I think some of the info on the real cars said they were based on a truck frame as well as having the truck engine. I also found out that the Tokyo police ran some experimental 2-door, 2-seat Crowns, which is pretty wild considering all civilian Crowns had 4 doors.
