Man, while browsing for a Tomica Premium R30, i came across Greenlight Black Bandit Montecarlo SS, a bit cheaper than Tomica and now i can't choose. Anyone knows pros and cons of each manufacture? I never buy a Greenlight, though it's detail is decent imo.
This is just my personal opinion:

Tomica Premium - Crap

GreenLight - Crap

Seriously though, Tomica Premium seems to have very high quality manufacturing. I'm not a fan of opening doors, but I do like the small parts they use(lamps, etc.). I do find their models on the boring side. Price, maybe little bit high for what they are.

GreenLight, I think they often has the lowest build quality amongst the major names. Sloppy detailing, mismanufactured, or poorly attached parts, etc. are something I half expect from most GL cars. Selections they offer are fantastic, if you like American cars & trucks. I also find their pricing to be bit on a high side.

Just my personal experience!

Greenlight is hit or miss. Mostly misses, but some of their older releases are really good.
It's like they still have the senior assemblers, who puts together the older castings. Some of the older castings, while the mold isn't as refined, they seemed to be detailed & assembled much better than the newer stuff.

I always get the impression that their marketing gets way ahead of where it counts: Production & manufacturing. Auto World is like the opposite of GreenLight. They take it slow, but their quality is way more consistent compared to GreenLight.

Yeah i've seen all th Black Bandit line and most of them are a bit meh, the Monte Carlo seems to be the decent one.

Yeah i don't care for opening doors, but i love the small parts they put on the R30. Guess i'll just get the Tomica. Thanks guys.

Auto World looks miles better than GL but holy hell it's so expensive here.

I've got some older Greenlights ('93 Mustang and '70 Challenger from Country Roads and a Black Bandit C6 Z06), and they're alright, but I don't think I would buy new ones because they just don't really do anything for me; same goes for Auto World, though from what I've seen in stores they do look really nice and if they had a car I was super into I would definitely consider one. Come to think of it I did see they had an '84 Camaro Z28 that was almost perfect aside from non-stock looking wheels.

Anyways, went to a 'flea-market store' (essentially a big building where you can rent a space and put junk up to sell) and walked away with these babies.

The Isuzu VehiCross was a cool find. Shame the casting only lasted a few years before it was dropped, although not before getting a yellow paint job which I think is my favorite version. Also cool is that it has a metal base which is something Hot Wheels doesn't do anymore for main-line cars sadly. The Cobra is another nice addition, but what mainly drew me to it were those Goodyear 7SPs. They're just such a nice wheel, as not only is the wheel itself good looking but it has a decent sized sidewall too, as opposed to being ultra low profile.

I like VehiCross, too(OMG, is that how they spelled it? lol). I do occasionally see metal base, but on fantasy castings.

Put the pink frosted donuts down, Jarrod!!

Never!
At least it made me join the prestigious Jarrod Blank List, so it's a win-win situation for me.👍

Prestigious is a weird way of describing it. Trust me you do not want to be on that particular list. :nervous:

Edit: The TomyTec PR department just retweeted my tweet from yesterday. I assume I'll be getting royalties from them soon, because of all the extra Prairie orders they've been inundated with. :dopey:

The 911 doesn't have opening doors, it's (almost) perfect!

I was expecting a gif of Godzilla's fire breath or a Gundam cutting other robots in half, Sir Space Goat Knight. You should know those are the main threats of being on a Japanese's... erm, "prestigious" list... You need to up your game, mate.

Jarrod Blank: Consultant of the Unsung JDM Heroes. You need to start printing them meishi cards ASAP...! Send the first one to me so I can steal your Family Trucksters place an order on a Prairie... :sly:

Actually it's VehiCROSS, but I suppose the name is the least weird thing about it.

Guess I stand corrected on the base thing. Now that I think about it, doesn't the Kool Combi have a metal base? I remember hearing that it was popular with the Hot Wheels drag racing crowd for being one of, if not the heaviest casting Hot Wheels has made to date.

You know, for the longest time I actually thought a6 was American. I had no idea he was Japanese until he posted a picture of himself in the "pics of yourself" thread. . a6 has been living in America for so long, he's become radicalised. He's all about nuclear bombs and netflix now.

They retweeted both their tweets about the Prairie's, a little while ago. Clearly there is a renewed demand. Coincidence? I think not! Better get started on those cards...:dopey:👍
steal your Family Trucksters

:( :( :( :(
I've yet to take a close look at that one yet.

I am not surprised.👍

Don't forget about all the American pistols and assault rifles he loves so much! I bet those were the initial catalyst that turned Inspector Bonsai into an Anglo-Japanese hybrid, like a Prius built by General Motors or something... Guns are a pretty 'Murican hobby to have, after all!

I'm looking forward to the "Nissan Prairie JB Edition" casting then, seems Takara Tomy will cash in on your love for it by making a special remade casting. Dunno what sort of features such a Prairie would have (perhaps some goat motif or something of the sort)... But don't forget to put that on the cards if it happens! :sly:

Well I did say that one is my evil plan regarding your collection... Sorry (#notthatsorry)! :sly:

@Aerocoupe I think it was just the first mainline Kool Kombi that had the metal base, though I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure the new ones are plastic base.

Has he shown you any pics of his armoury, I mean collection? Rambo has nothing on a6.

Street Fighter.gif

Might have to put a hold on that though. I replied to their tweet on the Nissan service Prairie yesterday, but I didn't even get a like or anything from them this time. What am I going to do with all these business cards!? :(

I didn't even realize that you guys were talking about me. :( My two main handguns aren't American, they are German & Austrian.... Assault rifles aren't available to civilians like myself either! :( And it's more about Hulu, not Netflix these days.

Not really, no. I have seen a few pics of some of his chosen guns... I have no doubt he packs enough heat to make the Punisher look like a children's cartoon character, though. :nervous:

Haha, didn't think my "idea" would be so well received... Can I get some royalties for that? I've watched Shark Tank, I know the lingo and how to hijac... er I mean support people's business ideas. :dopey:

And well, you can always self-promote your work here. It's not quite Takara Tomy, but some billionares have had humble starts in their lives... :sly:

I guess all the "Inspector Bonsai" references weren't a clue, hey Inspector? But at least you've noticed, so not all has been lost. ;)
And your main guns are not American? That's a shame, however it is nice you got guns from countries with good gun reputations. Maybe the next step is getting a CZ-75 for that great handgun trifecta...?
And I wouldn't know a darn thing about either Hulu or Netflix, I'm a basic cable TV scrub who rarely uses streaming services. Hoorah! :dopey: :dunce:

Prepare to be disappointed. :(
Netflix has Stranger Things. Netflix is therefore declared the winner.
That was a good show. Hulu's awesome though. All the good stuff Netflix lost, I found them on Hulu. If you like good TV series, Netflix has tons, but Hulu seems to have as much exclusives, if not more.
OMG, hell yes. And it's likely excluded from JDM hoarders/scalpers list.:embarrassed:

I carry a pocket knife. That's it.

Yeah, but they retweeted your original post!

Here's how my first German turned out.
basic cable
Cable is a scam. If you are paying for it, there shouldn't be any commercials. As far as I'm concerned, everybody on Earth should cancel cable TV today.

I don't have either but Hulu wins because of a certain show.

He makes the Terminator look like C3PO. :scared:

Hey, what could be better than a goat themed prairie? Nothing in my book. :dopey: 👍

:grumpy:

They don't have to pay me in cash. I'll happily take model cars are payment. :embarrassed: :dopey:
Prepare to be disappointed. :(

That's a shame. It looked so promising! I'm not against opening doors on these smaller scale models but in this particular case, I wish it didn't have them.
Yeah, but they retweeted your original post!

I'm still surprised about that!

I saw two of them. That doesn't count. :P
Apparently, that's like two more than my Walmart will see in the entire year of 2017!

Seinfeld's been awesome. I have to see the final 2-part episode!
He makes the Terminator look like C3PO. :scared:
I'm old, so I'm probably more like a C3PO, with a blaster.

Awesome paint & wheels, but it's far from a ten with everything considered.
I'm still surprised about that!
It's probably a commemorative gesture. I think they sold, like, two more Nissan Prairie castings for the year & that's the largest surge in sales they have seen in the history of Nissan Prairies. Including real life. j/k

Thought you would have watched it by now!

You're going to eat your words when the Prairie's have a higher resale value than a certain Le Mans winning Mazda!

Okay, that's a big stretch. Even I'll admit that.

I think it's more a matter of if, not when.
Also, I have a lot of surplus cash around at the moment... What models should I go for? I'm desperately craving some new metal lol.
