Mitsubishi Galant VR4 |1991 Côte d'Ivoire

The Mitsubishi is definitely my saddest looking CM's model. The yellow wheels, strange uneven paint and decal errors don't look all that great.

I would suspect the wheels started out white and yellowed due to age and/or poor materials. The correct color is white.

Yeah, definitely. Most likely due to sun exposure I suppose.

Watch out those that display your cars, sunlight is dangerous. Can happen to paint too.

Couple new adds. Dale Jr 2016 Ducks Unlimited and M2 '69 Dodge L600/'66 Dodge Charger hauler set.

Saw that Auto-Hauler I think Friday. It's so nice. 👍 My last couple of days:

No Japan Historics 2!!

:(
I have a 13 fusion titanium my old car was a 08 Grand Prix that we got in 2012. Haven’t gone hunting recently because my radio decided to die and it’s $700 U.S to get a new screen/unit installed. Be careful with yours if you have the touchscreen my ford touch.
I don't have touchscreen, but yeah, that's scary. I did get the certified used, so I think it has one year warranty? I focused on the powertrain, and it does have 7-year warranty there. Just on accessories I needed(mats, cargo liners, etc.), even at cost, I already spent over $300. :(
Two more CM's reshoots and one I don't think I've shown here before (1993 Impreza).
👍

So glad to see those Land Cruisers get reissued.... I bought the pickup style one, and one with boat on a hitch (dirty/mud vers.), both in red. :embarrassed:

Holy ball slacks.

Lost out on $6 on fees from that recent sale. Boo. But then again, I did counter offer on the Fast Fish with an additional $10 over his first offer (to counter this), so that is in some sense or another, a $4 gain in total.

Marvelous... After 6 years of collecting, I've profited about $30-40... marvelous indeed. I can make that much just sitting in front of a computer doing nothing for a couple of hours.

I sold a double din for a Civic the other day. $17.50 in fees, not including PayPal

Nice! A big sale hurts a lot. Invest in Shopify!

Eh, I've thought about it. Just requires a lot more marketing than an eBay account because there's a significant difference in the amount of buyers when it comes to car parts.

It's basically a trade-off of low seller fees, or having a larger customer base.

I finally caved on the Japan Historics 2 guys. I found a listing for $40 shipped(all 5 cars), and I had to do it. Price's been steadily climbing on eBay & I got scared. :(

Not that I've given this much thought, but with most hobbies, I don't think you get anything back financially? After collecting some basketball cards during the 90's & Hot Wheels from 2010-ish, I've gained respect for these hobbies, because you could actually recover some of the cost when you are done. In the case of basketball cards, I'm thinking I actually made profit & I still got bunch left.

Of course, I didn't get into cards or Hot Wheels for investment purposes, and I doubt you did either. Just wanted to chime in on the suggested sentiment. After having fun & getting nice chunk of change in return for something you are done with, that's sweet bonuses. :P

Only time I keep track of what I spend on diecast is with NASCAR 1:24s, and even then it's only just because I'm curious to see how prices compare to other places for individual cars. And hint: I'm well into three figures on how much I've spent.:lol:

Huh, and I'm slowly going through my collection and tallying all the prices up. I like knowing that kind of stuff.

Edit:

I get that some of y'all feel weird when money is brought into this topic (which is somewhat ironic when we always complain about $TH/JDM prices), but as with anything that costs money, I don't think it's bad to be financially aware of what's happening... even if it's a hobby.

But hey- when I've been buying model cars without a thought, only to find out my bank account's stash is really going anywhere after all these years. One can only wonder where all that money is freakin' going... especially when I'm not spending much on actual necessities! I'd say I'd be in a real big mess if I continued to not think about it.

I hope the Tarmac models I bought don't look like this...:scared: Especially after spending a total of $62.

Stuff from AmiAmi landed today. Which was surprising, considering that both orders were only shipped last Friday.

Spark Bentley Continental GT3's, TLV Crown Wagon and Nissan Prairie, Tomica Premium Lancer Evo and Tomica Camaro.

The Continentals, Lancer and Camaro. I've been waiting on for over a month. Got delayed thanks to Spark not releasing the Bentley's until about a week ago.

@domalorite I totally get what you were saying about the green on the Crown being lighter than the promo shots. While it does still look very nice, I would preferred the darker green as well.

Don't tell Jarrod, but that white Prairie looks really good.

P.S. Also, heck of Spark vs Kyosho display on his flikr. 👍

Oh yeah, I didn't post them because I wasn't sure how many pics I could fit into one post. Let me fix that.

RIP Mitsubishi.
Tried to see if I can push the tire off a wheel on this car to eventually repaint them to white since the yellow really looks bad. Wheel shattered without much pressure at all, most likely due to the plastic degrading and becoming brittle.
Guess I'll have to keep my eyes open for a CM's galant as I quite like this car.

@Spacegoat

Looks like Kyosho does a cleaner job on the lamps and front grills... or everything actually...

Damn Spark, you suck. :grumpy:

Rip in pepperonis.

Went to Kmart and to my pleasant surprise they had a small handful of Johnny Lightning cars and I got this. I also had an old Datsun picked out but another collector who just finished looking at the Hot Wheels noticed it as I pulled it off the peg. Since we both wanted it equally as much we had a coin toss to determine who took it home. I lost.
