Yes, because people buy the cars, replace the rubber tires with plastic ones, and return them to the store to get their money back. Take a photo of the bottom of that car.

I see that somebody drilled out the rivets (top car). That thought never crossed my mind. Thanks for pointing that out. Something to watch for in the future.

Yep. And it's super easy to reseal the package to make it look like it was never opened. Sad truth these days.

The real fun in all that is finding another rivet wide enough to cover all traces of drill marks.

I've done it before and I've sold it to someone, though I did explicitly mention it is modified and not a legit variation.

Unbelievable. Good eye, Jason.

P.S. RLC Nova Gasser order today said "cancelled". I checked the forum & members were talking about it. They all have order cancelled, but apparently, according to the customer service, orders weren't really cancelled. Year after year, how that website stay so consistently glitchy is unreal.

You'd make such a good forger hoser.👍

Swagger Wagon would've been dope amirite.

If I see the Mooneyes VW Bus, I'd pick that up. Skyline van/wagon thing I already found a cheap one online while back.

How does one open these premium cards. The cards are glossy finish so acetone cannot soak through. Unless literally dump the whole thing in acetone?

Persistence pays off. $10 of Acetone to save yourself $5.

WORTH.

First time buying stuff from ck-modelcars. Very nice as it's a european Spark distributor, but this time I was more interested in the promotional BMW cars. They come in plain white BMW branded boxes. Picked two up since they were on discount.

BMW M4 DTM | 2015 Marco Wittman (#1) and Bruno Spengler (#7)

Spark Porsche 957 | 1985 24h LeMans

And two more from ebay

Kyosho 2007 Motul Autech Test Car

Greenlight Plymouth GTX

The BMW promotional cars are interesting. They're not the highest quality, but they've more or less met my expectations. The castings are nice, but some corners were cut in the form of missing decals (This is how cool the design of the white BMW is supposed to look). The tires are actually plastic, which is a shame, but they still look the part.
All in all worth the purchase since they were half off and I am a big BMW fanboy.

Damn, that is a really low level of low. Had never seen that before.

Basically this thread = Walmart for Canadians. Basically.

Plus, what new GT cars? Are you referring to the one that was out for a while meow?

The new Gran Turismo set is just now hitting stores.
Is that everywhere, or exclusive? I gave in again & since I had zero confidence in finding the R34 GT-R & white Ford GT that I MUST HAVE, I shelled out $26, $27 or something like that on eBay for the set. I'll part out the set to recover some of the funds.

On the way home, I did pick up quite a few cars for my de nephews:

It’s this series @a6m5

No k case cars but damn I want that Aventador. Might go hunting for the Gran Turismo set tomorrow. I believe it’s walgreens like the last series.

I know which series you guys were referring to, this set just arrived at my post office today(from eBay, it was $24.99). I had cold food from Walmart on the way home, so didn't have the time to swing by the post office to pick them up(I really need to tomorrow though).

You think it might be a Walgreens exclusive huh? I might check one out tomorrow. I do like Jack in the Box & there is a Walgreen near there..... :P
If you say so.

Liking that Golf and the Countach. Nice scores.
Thanks, but not for me, I swear!

We do do the hot wheels draft thing, where three of us take turns picking the cars? But those cars get beat to crap on race tracks & they don't join the collection I have, so they don't count! I am considering keeping the white Mazda REPU for the collection though....

Just confirming I haven't ignored this - it's just taken a while to sort everything out! Speaking to one of the designers tonight so hopefully I can sneak in some of your questions (and the few others people posted).

The story will be in the next issue of the print magazine and on the evo.co.uk website probably a few months after that.

Good to know! Looking forward to seeing the finished article. 👍

I stop by this store I very rarely go to today, happened to be in the neighborhood. I was going to look at their gun accessories when I remembered they carried little bit of Hot Wheels, too.

I was looking for this last October, but this Ford pickup was the coveted one of the Halloween Series. I even bought one on eBay after I couldn't find it locally, then seller never shipped it, never heard from them again(eBay got my money back). Nearly six month later, after I stopped collecting, mission accomplished. Yeah, I bought it. Don't judge me.

That's one model I collect. But those wheels!

I just noticed a real riders without rubber tires. Has anybody come across this before?

I just find it hilarious that any human being can go to that length to save a few bucks.
Wonder what they spent it on.

If they were smart, they'd forge a Fairlady Z Advan Super.

I don't think they would have the mettle for it. :sly:

It could be a youngster seriously into the hobby of customizing but, pitifully, also seriously short of pocket money.
It could also be a 'control' issue - but then we'd be delving deeply into psychology; this individual may just love to 'get away' with it.

First Tarmac purchase.

This thing made me feels weird everytime i look at my HW collection. This is on another level, i love it and i'll be looking forward for their EK9 and RWB Porsches.

If you think the quality on this is high, you should get a TLV. They blow every 1:64 scale model out of the water.

I lol'd when I saw this tweet. This is for @yabiggoose

Lamley Hype.

I did get my Gran Turismo set today.

Cars are great, but the postal fraud crap the seller pulled left a bad taste in my mouth. They lied to keep the weight down, also used free bubble mailers for Priority Mail as packing material. It's more of stealing than freeloading IMO.

Harry, it's perfect for Halloween theme!
