No other GameStop exclusives also found the camaro treasure hunt.

I need to move to your area. I hit a few stores while apartment searching today. Zilch.
I’m on the west side by the Grand Rapids airport. Most of the store still have old stock but most of the Targets now have Q case cars on their pegs. Still haven’t seen a store with a new P case dump bin or fresh p case cars on the pegs.

Had about a good a day as it's possible to have without finding a super treasure hunt. I recently found out how to remove the tampos/decals, so picked up a few that I already had like the green quattro and black Honda City, but the main drive was to find the 22B, 917 and some other new releases.

@Roo how do you remove the decals?

Draw over them with whiteboard marker (the eraseable kind, not permanent), leave for a few minutes, then scrub really hard. I'm told this works on most colours but can give a tinge to a white car, although I've not tried one myself yet. I'm still working out what's best for scrubbing that won't take the paint off; the pen won't but something too scratchy would.

I'm still experimenting so try this at your own risk :)

Had great turnover today. Met the dude I sold my garbage lot of cars to. We talked. Turns out he also collected 1/18 models, namely high-end resins. I brought it up that I had some to sell, brought him to my place, showed and sold some Ignitions, though there was a net loss IMO. It was all good, I was thinking I could net some more if I was patient enough, but this was an unexpected opportunity to get rid of the ones I really wanted to let go of.

On his way out he spotted a HW 911 997 GT2 sitting on my K'Nex shelf he didn't recognize. Of course he wouldn't, because it was one I had painted. That brought up the opportunity to sell him the two 2014 Multi-pack Exclusives I didn't want to sell thinking no one would recognize its scarcity. So I bring him into the basement to look for these two, and before you know it I have him sifting through my bin of cars I'm selling. Sold him my good Speed Machines, Boulevard Vectors, those 911 GT2s as well as the yellow one, the rest of my S2000s and a few others.

What was supposed to be a $130 transaction turned into $1065. Then I got on with the rest of my day, took a trip to Walmart since @Gotbeefboy564 found the Impreza and Godzilla, which are the only two I'd really like to find at the moment. I head inside, find five bins on the floor this time, but this time a dude was going through it with his wife, wife Selfie-recording the activity which I did not question why. Took a look at what he had grabbed and saw he already found exactly what I came for. Wife pulls up an Impreza and presents it to him. Hubby already had one so I asked for it. Chatted up what he's looking for, and turns out he's just getting into it with only 40 cars in his collection, most of which were really for their toddler who plays with them. We move over to the other bins and I'm finding more and more Imprezas and R32s... like 10+ easily. He mentions the hope of finding the rare ones and I shared with him what to spot for; rubber tires, special paint, chocolate.

Literally a minute later, they part ways, and I resume trying to look for a R32 with rear lights that are actually lined up correctly. I pulled one up from the side of the bin, rear-side facing up. The lights are on-point. Nice. However, noticing that the paint was unusually darker and glossier than the ones I've been seeing earlier, I turn it around and I'm faced with bronze CM6s and a big fat "TH" on the side:

I felt there was a very good chance I'd find a Super with the abundance of Subaru and Skylines available....decided to amp up the greed and dug some more hoping I'd find the 911 GT3 Super as well, but gave up since I was short on time. All in all it has been a very good day! *woot*

Time to go flip that Skyline now.

Let me know if you want me to grab you a bunch of those. I will likely be able to find them tomorrow. @everyone, if you want me to grab you any Imprezas or R32s, just hollar.

@Roo how do you remove the decals?

You can also use acetone with cotton swabs (damp, not drench). Apply, and rub about a second after. You want enough acetone that it will dissolve and lift the tampo, as well as leaving the swab dry enough that the tampo will want to stick to it (this won't happen if its soaking in liquids). Over-applying may also let the acetone chew into the paint, and this can either disfigure the surface or remove the paint altogether.

Found my 32 at a GameStop I only saw the 22B in the dump bin which was completely full of older case cars as well so I didn’t want to waste time digging through it. I’ll look at my other Walmart on Tuesday when I take some pop cans back to see if they got their new bins.

For any North American Tomica collectors keeping track of the US releases, I know we only recently got the third wave of Tomicas with the Jimny, GTR, truck, and Crown. But I don't recall a wave with the Lexus IS-F CCSR. Randomly found this amongst wave 3 of US release Tomicas. Couldn't find any info of it in a fourth wave.

Had to run to the post office on my lunch, swung by the local Walmart afterwards. When I walked in some guy was walking by the entrance with a Hot Wheels Monster Jam car in his hand and asked someone nearby "did you see it?". Didn't think much about it and went on my way. Talk about impeccable timing. There were two Transports on the pegs, one of them the R34. Snatched it quickly and glad I did, the guy and his friend walk around the corner like 30 seconds later and were disappointed to see that I had what they were looking for in my hand. :embarrassed:

Finally.
