Upcoming Mini GTs...

M3 Wagon, Ducati and Hyundai Vision 74 are the highlights IMO

Having survived my first week as a Texan and getting my wisdom teeth pulled last week, I decided to search out a new diecast store and ended up finding a few Fords. I was very surprised that minigt did not only a Rally1 car, but the 2022 Monte winner. The GT40 was a surprise too. I know HWs are very popular here, but the Cossie is one of the better castings that I have been hunting for and can’t seem to find. The ultimate Escort RS model is the IXO one that I have been searching eBay for, but I will find one.

Wow, new wave of US Tomicas are out? What else is in that set?

I see Wave 5 on their website, but it only says Suzuki Escudo, CX-5 Police, Town Ace Hamburger car, and Crown Comfort Taxi. Which I haven't seen in stores yet. Then again, I haven't checked in a while. Don't see anything about a Land Cruiser 70 or HiMedic.
how do i find this website?

I haven't seen a 1:64 scale Escudo anywhere, and if I can't find, then there's a fair chance they don't exist:lol:

Anyway, here's what I found today:
Nice cars :)

Can we start a petition for tomica or hot wheels to make one

I mean if we can get hoonigan surely we can get a pikes peak

Am I the only one who collects these now?
Space and overall interest with collecting for me, is the issue. Still buy from time to time but nowhere near to the extent that I used to. Did order this TLV Civic recently. Doesn't come out until next year though.

Probably. I stopped, but still have about 3 cars I haven't taken photos of as per my tradition of photo logging every single one I own.

I still do but I don't have a place to take photo of them lol

I'm sure you can figure something out. If you even have a bed, chair or whatever to sleep on, you have the room to pull something off. You'll just have to make a few things for a backdrop is all.

So my brother recently got accepted into the Redline Club and bought 2 of the 1969 Dodge Charger R/T's released recently, one for himself and another to sell. Naturally, I took interest in it since I liked it a lot and had an opportunity to get one for myself, so I bought it from him!

And here it is:

And here are some pictures of it out of the package. (yes I opened it)

Here it is with the hood open, the details look fantastic and I am surprised at how even the underside of the hood is painted.

And the interior is also pretty nice!

Sure does look nice, it's so shiny I can literally see myself. This is easily one of the best I've gotten in many years! I hope maybe I can get more RLC's from my brother in the future because these things are great!

Looked at some cars today and I went for the 928 on the front of the pegs first but then took another glance and the 935 beside it looked like some pretty good soup also. :embarrassed:

:scared: Oh boy. I decided to go for my first dedicated 'hunt' today, and now I'm feeling kinda bad about the money I spent on die cast. I know this is cheap compared to a lot of you in here, but it's a first for me outside of the odd singularly-expensive model car. Two Targets and three Walmarts hit. First day out, and I've never seen so many cars at once that I had to have. I was expecting to find maybe six or seven, but I knocked a nice chunk off my existing list of cars to look out for, and even found a few nice surprises...

Premiums:
  • classic Skyline diorama (Never expected to see this one in stores! Been wanting it for a while. I hope to grab the R23/33/34 diorama eventually too, but prices online can be insane)
  • Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti (The other livery I saw this car available in was tempting as well, but I try to avoid duplicates and this legendary car deserves a display this nice. But maybe I'll cave one day just so I can look at the whole car without opening up the package)
  • Lancia Stratos
  • Lamborghini Countach LP 5000 QV
  • '94 Audi Avant RS2 (I already had a standard one in blue, but this livery is too cool)
  • Johnny Lightning '70 Mustang Mach 1
  • Johnny Lightning '71 Mustang Mach 1 from 007: Diamonds Are Forever (I also have the Hot Wheels version, but I'm a huge Mustang fan so I'm grabbing up all the different variations I find. Again, normally avoid duplicates, but this is premium vs the HW standard, so I'm okay with it)

HW Standards:
  • Alfa Romeo GTV6 3.0
  • Toon'd '83 Chevy Silverado (I LOVE the Toon'd cars)
  • '62 Ford Mustang Concept (part of the Mustang 5-pack; I actually have a first-run example of this casting, still in the package, from 2010)
  • '69 Ford Mustang Boss 302
  • '71 Ford Mustang Mach 1
  • '84 Ford Mustang SVO
  • '92 Ford Mustang
  • '07 Ford Mustang
  • 2015 Ford Mustang GT Convertible
  • '86 Ford Thunderbird Pro Stock
  • Honda CB750 Café (normally I'm not interested enough in bikes to get die casts, but I can't resist a Honda)
  • Honda Super Cub Custom
  • Limited Grip (again, "normally" I'm not interested in the fictional Hot Wheels, but they've been making some really cool designs these last few years that are clearly aimed at the real-car enthusiasts)
  • Lolux (Another cool fiction, this one curiously with a "New for 2022" card. There was a newer color option available, but I find I'm treating this hobby the same way I look at my interest in books, and think first-editions are so cool.)
  • Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution
  • Nissan Patrol Custom
  • 1970 Pontiac Firebird (I want to find one in white to mimic the real car it's based on, but don't mind a placeholder)
  • Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7
  • Porsche 911 GT3
  • '82 Toyota Supra

Last but not least, a 1/24 scale '74 Chevy Cheyenne Super 10 by M2 Machines. I got M2's 1/24 '73 Cheyenne 10 a while back on impulse because my grandpa had a Cheyenne, but this one is actually blue like his was. The nostalgia was strong with this purchase.

I don't normally buy mainline Hot Wheels cars but I just love this cast. Not bad for $2.

I admit, I may or may not gone a bit overboard with my purchases.

The amount could have probably been a lot smaller had I found more Transformers to buy, but almost everything that I had planned to buy, were gone once I got there.

Also, the last time I went to Japan was in 2019 and the next time I might go, will be 2025 at the earliest, so I'd say this haul compensates for the absense of new opportunities for the foreseeable future.

Either way, gonna post more pictures once I get them out of their packages and sorted in some sort of order.

Can anyone tell me how to use the spoiler tags on mobile? I'm gonna take pictures of them with my phone and if I can post them with it aswell, would save me the hassle of starting up my ancient desktop.

Altough, I may have to do that anyway, depending if my phone can handle uploading the pics or not. It already has some difficulties loading more then 3 pictures.
