I had a good day today, after hitting up Walmart and finding alto of redline cars and the viper I went to a Mexican market to get groceries with my dad and upon entering they had little rack of hot wheels , crap as usual , last years cars and then i see a mad props look at it and upon putting it back i see a green stripe, turns out there was treasure hunt right there =D Pluss here's the Bentley that's impossible to find i got it from ralphs the only had three out of around 400 cars , lol and Zero at walmart.. I bet some ones buying them all.

I don't know, if I actually started looking out for it, I bet I could find it.

I guess I'll see soon enough. :dopey:

P.S. Nice Maverick redline. I was looking for that one!

Well, I'm definitely going to have to put collecting on hold...a bit. I will try and find some of those new boulevards and that Bentley. Now that the project car is official, I'm going to save up money.

Here are the two errors I found this morning at Target.

Extra j-hook inside the car.

Slider tampo. Don't usually pick up sliders, but this is pretty off. Someone else on HWC.com found the same thing.

My GT-R race car came in, but it took a week longer than other Hong Kong seller, and was poorly packed. Box smashed up pretty good, which I'm not anal about, but not great for collecting. I think I'm gonna have to give this seller a neutral feedback. What do you guys think?

Nice, me likey. Real pity about the box though. I'd give them neutral feedback, but then again, I am one of poeple who gets quite picky about the condition of things like that.

Errors that I won't buy are anything with tampo problems (unless they are completely missing) or cars missing chrome/color on their wheels. For some reason they just don't appeal to me.

I like errors I can't find, but that's just me. :P I'm not gonna lie, the day I find Cuda with five wheels, I'd buy that.

I think I will give them a neutral. It'll help the future buyers. 👍

Were do you live i can buy you one?

Nah, not worth wasting time and money sending me stuff when I could get them myself. Save your money for your own collection. ;)

Edit: Also, last time I stopped by TRU, I noticed a new Tomica playset that had the 370Z roadster. Would be cool to have, but not worth buying an entire playset for it.

I'm the same.. if there's more than one of the same car on the shelf, i will always go for the one that looks in better condition.. ie: less diecast flashing/ridges, better applied tampos etc.

Imagine if those same people that are fascinated by error cars, were the same about RL cars.. "Hey dude, check-out my brand new ride, fresh from the dealership this morning... it's got a missing headlight, and the rear wheels are space-savers!, dude how cool is that ?".

(obviously they wouldn't be like that, just making joke)

To each their own. Errors are unique, and it's the thrill of the hunt that makes them so cool to find. Plus, hard to find variants like the OH5 Ferrari could potentially be worth quite a bit.

Very true, whatever floats your boat, and i won't deny.. they are unique, but where do you draw the line?... i suppose it's not so bad for what is essentially a bad (in some cases) craftmanship cheap diecast, but imagine if you were to purchase an expensive AutoArt 1/18 scale model and things were missing or the wrong way round.

I do hear you on the variants though, but only if it improves the looks imo (regardless of it being worth more). i have about 4 different wheel variations of the HachiRoku (same tampos) and i do have a favourite one... so i guess that particular one is worth more to me than the others, so yeah, kind of see your point.

[EDIT]

I personally see far more worth and more uniqueness in those customised HW you do R1600, than any error that iv'e ever seen.

No different than someone who would collect only one specific casting. Errors are special and I like looking for them.

I came close to buying the Matchbox Firebird & Stepside, but just couldn't do it with those tampos. They were too much for me. I did get these:

Walmart had bunch of red-whatever(line?) wheel Aston & STi, so I did pick the STi up. They look nice. :embarrassed: I should have picked up another one to open up. Another cool Johnny Lightning I couldn't say 'no' to. Was not planning on getting the Boulevard GTO stationwagon, but it looked cool in person! Finally, I almost never buy fantasy cars, but this Cloak & Dagger has Mountain Dew Baja Blast(only the best soda evah!) color, and very slick Sci Fi design to it. :dopey:

Edit: I just saw how much R1600 paid for the Boulevard cars. You lucky dog! I almost bought the VW, too. If anything, I thought it would have nice resale value, but I backed out. :D

Dat Red Mica STi . Me jelly, GIVE IT UP!!!! :grumpy:

But nice finds A6, and the Tomica GTR looks alright also. Shame that the box is wrecked, it's vital to the collection and storage for the car. Yeah, I would go for giving this seller a neutral feedback. But if it was me, espically for a collector's item, I would give my review on the purchase and how the shipping went too.

Yes they did. I'm glad they brought back the spoiler lip. That's why I love it so much. Plus the carbon fibre back.

I GOTTA FIND A SRT Viper GTS, Red STi GRB-1 AND Ferarri 599XX ASAP!!!!!!!!!

But that's what I do also. I also found a error with the purple Lancer Evo X with the headlights not placed correctly on my birthday, when I look at the car, they are lopsided. Yeah I brought it with the Furais and the other cars in that group and I beginning to like finding the error cars myself.

But when there's more than one car I'm looking for in any store, I try to find a excellent packaged one for collectors, one to open (either excellent or avgerage condition) and medicore conditioned one for modifications. But that's how I do mine though.

Well, I'm getting into finding the errors also, I have to say, it's really cool just observing a HW car for a flaw, and since everyone collecting them, a normal non-error car will be useless in the collector's world. These little guys with their problems will be the sought after items.

But I wouldn't want this on a 1:32-1:10 scale car, even if I wanted to modify it.

BTW, I like some of your new cars that you got recently R1600.

Thanks for the input, Vspec. Hate to do it, but neutral feedback should send the message to the seller. 👍
