Not sure if this has been posted here before, but I was going to post it in the Cool Videos thread then at the last minute thought you guys might appreciate it more. :D

He also informs me that he's taken "exception" with "Cano"... he feels that a man that owns over 5000 diecast is beyond help, and is indeed "Certifiable"... but still insists that he (Cano), forwards his entire collection to him personally, for further analysis, so he can study and hope to find greater understanding, of one of the most severe forms of "1:64 DVA" he's ever seen.

As I'm beyond help, there is absolutely no point in me sending anything over there. I'd rather have the doctor send ME over part of the collections he acquires from other study subjects. A certain Polistil car comes to mind.

I milked one of the nurses at the clinic for info: apparently the good Doctor has the most severe case of DVA - the new mutant variety that's infectious.

Thanks for the vid, Axle!

^That's simply not true!... I have on good authority been told, that the Doctor actually has a passion for collecting Barbie dolls. And as we all know, collecting Barbie dolls is a very healthy pastime, and not unusual at all... unlike collecting diecast.
I have informed the Doctor of your slanderous claims Harry. Let's just say, he is very displeased and is in the process of contacting his legal team.
Whoever... he has told me to relay to you, that he's willing to settle out of court (in his favour), and will indeed accept your offer to him, of you donating your vast collection of diecast to the clinic, for the greater good of the treatment program.

Case closed.

I don't know when, but South Texas Diecast has updated their site to include many of the cars that I posted about earlier. As of writing, they have 34 under 2013.

Cano. Finally.. a couple pics of the Polistil Porsche 928 turbo.
The cast is just as i remembered as a kid, it wasn't perfect then and it isn't perfect now, but i still love it just as much.
The most notable problems are: the metal flashes in the side and rear quarter windows, the ill fitting front windscreen and rear screen, and the obvious rough edges around the door seams etc... Another thing to note (apart from my poor photography skills ), is that, although the car itself is unaffected in terms of condition.. the sticker/tampo thingys are starting to lift where they've just lost their adhesion over time.

1 more thing i noticed is, although the car & packaging states that it's 1:55 scale.. i'm actually convinced it's infact more like 1:60 or thereabouts.

That thing is all-out awesome. Letting out how rare those things are today, I really like the wide-fender treatment on the body. You can't really nitpick the flaws on the casting, those were the days of slim quality control in companys as small as Polistil, specially considering that their utmost priority were 1:43 and 1:24 die-cast cars, their 1:64 lineup came about because they wanted a piece of the burgeoning 1:64 scene. They were never too sucesssful.

Also, the wheels. They so scream Majorette to me, but I also think even Guisval used them. Maybe several european companies used a version of the same wheels, or acquired them from a single manufacturer. Pics of the rear and the base!

Thanks Cano ^ Here ya go, as requested. Warning though, there are some serious flaws with the rear of the cast... cracks and ugliness under the spoiler, but like you say: "Quality control in those days", even though it still is sub-par to other brands of that era.
Also, i really do hope to find 1 (if not 2) more at a decent price, as a custom one would most definitely require some vent cutting for that flared body work.

As you can see in the pic below.. there's no mention of it being called a turbo, but it's larger sibling (1:24) is referred to being a turbo hence why i call it that.

^ You'll also notice, there's some huge axle play.. but i hope to address this, buy using a scalpel to slit these rather nifty spare Fujimi (plastic model) wheel bushes, to make some spacers, very similar to what you did with your Camaro. (obviously wont need to take anything apart). Thanks for giving me the idea. 👍

Leave that car as is, dude. don't do ANYTHING to it, it's perfectly mint in original shape. I'm all for popping cars off and doing the custom boogie, no matter how old as seen with the Majorette Alpine or the Lesney Land Rover, but this car is MINT. Don't do a thing to it.

If you find a restorable example, make sure to include these in your custom recipe:

Super_Modified_DkRed.JPG

Look at the rears. They are the widest, meatiest production tire/wheel combo HW has ever done with Lace wheels. They can be found in several models of the Supermodified (that car), and are pretty scarce. Up until now every time I see a set I grab it. they are the wheels I used in the fender-flared Maverick, and they look tough as 🤬 . Do it.

2 and a half minutes of pictures..... that takes an incredibly long time to produce. I know because I've tried to do it myself before. The smoothness of the video remains the same throughout most of the video, a common mistake most people make, but I seriously went "WTF?" at the flashlight jet mode at the end.

I'll take your good advice Cano, i wont touch it. 👍
If i ever do find one in a state of repair, you can Guarantee! i'll be using those laces (you're not going to believe this.. but i actually had those in mind)... i even have the donor already (i lost the rear spoiler quite a while ago now.. doesn't look good without it), but the laces i have on that car are red.. much prefer those gold ones.
It's either that.. Or (and most very unlikely) is that i can find a repairable Dan Wheldon sometime in the future, (no way i'd sacrifice my mint one though).
Cheers for the suggestion bud. 👍

Ah, nice to know you already have one donor, now you just need another one for the rear of the car. Believe me, if you put in those rear tires in both the front and rear of the Porsche, it will look automatically bad-ass. I wouldn't put in the turbine-styled wheels the DW car has in a car like your Porsche, unless you can work them to look like a touring car's "turbo" style wheels.

I don't know when, but South Texas Diecast has updated their site to include many of the cars that I posted about earlier. As of writing, they have 34 under 2013.

They updated last week. I had to contact the guy and tell him to take the AE-86 out of the "New Models" section, because it is in fact not a new model as we all know. He fixed it. 👍

Yep, you're right. The laces would suit it spot-on, and it's significantly more likely that i'll get hold of another one of those than a repairable Dan Wheldon.
Though "turbo" style wheels would be truly Godly!

first of all, get another Porsche .
^Pure evil torture! :banghead:
The only other one iv'e come across is (1): in decent condition.. (2): £21 !! (including shipping).
No-way on gods earth i'm paying that much, no matter how much i want to do a custom.
Wish i hadn't started thinking about it, as i have some perfect modelers card that would make some nice rear diffuser fins.

Oh well... patience is a virtue i guess. :indiff:

Just went to Dufferin Mall and I am sad to say that even with a month gap since my last visit, their pegs are pretty empty. It was also pretty laughable at the variety. There was probably at least 14 Celicas, 8 BMW 2002s, 4 brown Fairlane GTs and 7 brown VW Type 181. It seems like hope is lost for Toys R Us as they're getting very little HW shipments. Maybe I just went at a bad time, but I didn't want my transit token to go to waste so I ended up buying expensive cars.

Aside from the green Camaro ZL1 and the metallic blue matchbox Evora, I grabbed the following:

Hot Ones @ $2.99
Honda Civic CRX
VW Baja Beetle
442 Much
Camaro Z28
3-Window '32 Ford
El Rey Special

Boulevard @ $3.92
(2) Vector W8 Twin Turbo
(2) 1955 Chevrolet
Honda Civic Si
(2) Pontiac GTO '64; one of which is going in my diorama (thank god it has an opening hood)
AMC Rebel Machine

I was about to grab the rest of the DC Comics Nostalgia Series just because of the completionist in me, but I thought about it, it was going to be $20 for 4 cars.... so I scrapped that idea.

pics when I get home.

If I counted correctly, you have 72 cars listed and if you were to use your Gameboy camera, that would allow one car for every 1.38 pixels!
