AWD yo. I like AWD hatches.

Different strokes for different folks.

Only if they have an actual valid reason.....hate the "opinions" comment people fall back on without justifying themselves.

There are plenty of people who likes the cars unopened for various reasons. ;)

See if that person was a seller, then that's perfectly fine; his/her inventory is easily accessible and that's all that matters; business at home, not luxury. If not, then that's still just a mess.

I took a look at my yellow Focus and it does have a driveshaft.
However it also has a notable jackshaft making it AWD.

vvvv How many times are we going to see this old movie? :dopey:

First of all, let me put my "Captain Obvious" suit on. :sly:

From the true collector's perspective, it's preferable any piece stay sealed. Collector items generally have so much associated with value.

Is this the "correct" way, or is opening them up the "wrong" approach to collect? Absolutely not. I'm just pointing out the obvious merit in the "why".

It's up to the individual collector to decide how they want to display, or not display the cars, or with, or without the packaging. As you guys know, I keep my cars in packaging. Do I have peg boards, or display my cars in my apartment? No. I usually do have a couple sitting around on top of my surround receiver, but that's about it. And no, they are not carded.

Also keep in mind that most people collecting this stuff isn't strictly a seller, or collector. My money would be on that most people are collectors who will entertain the idea of "selling" in the future.
It's a Hotwheels car.

It can be anything Mattel wants it to be...
Whatever man. I thought you knew something I didn't.

If I don't get any donors for my 540K by the time that Mustang comes out, those lace wheels are MINE! ALL MINE! Muahahahaahah!

What's happening to me?! :scared::nervous:

You're slowly becoming one of us, my friend. ;)

Must have...that R34!!! Also surprised to see the ugly US spec Focus back in the line up. Shelby looks awesome too!

Anyways, out of boredom, I thought I'd look through my brother's local craigslist where he's at. Stumbled across this.

If only I could find someone like that in Maine.

Try to contact him and see what he's offering. There could be something there that you'll like or want. Seeing this guy's shelf is like a haven for old school HWs.👍👍

Is there a RWD 08+ Focus? I know that Ford Racing had a V8/RWD kit for the earlier ones. :dopey:

Hmmm, Hot Wheels need to put down the car's drivetrains on the back of the cards. That would be cool though.

Oh, and Jason, that GT500 is not a new model as I just found out.
I found this at K-Mart weeks ago thinking it was a card error named for the other 1967 GT500.
When I realized it wasn't an error just now, I opened it. It's a 2010.
As you can see, I added the '65 Fastback for comparison as they are kinda similar.

And on an unrelated note, I decided to break a few open tonight.

I'm not sweating it. I'm confident we'll nab a one or two soon.

Yep, soon. Look how long until I got my 80's decade Hachi. And I'm still messing with it, but I need one more in the package without it opened. ;)

Nice try McZ, I see her in the left corner. :P:lol:

But that GT500, the new white one with the BBS like wheels, it kinda looks like the Fastback 'Stang, but to be clear, I think we may need the '13 GT500 for more analyzing on the comparison.

Wrong. New car is a '68 Shelby, the 2010 car is a '67. Different nose cone amongst other things.

Look at the air intakes in front of the rear wheels. You'll notice that the GT500 has them and the Fastback doesn't. The white GT500 has the same intakes as my red one.
Also, look at the louvers/intakes over the rear side window. The Fastback's are vented while the GT500's aren't.
Plus, their cards share the same rendering on them. 👍

It's a different cast McZachen. There's atleast 2 things i can see different between 2010 and 2013, though they are slight. Your 67 doesn't have a front blinker (on the side just below front bumper), and look at the difference of the rear bumper/cut off section, below where the rear bumper sits. 👍

BTW, what is that black car with the white wheels?, i like it.

I'm stickin' to my guns saying it's the same cast. It does have a different hood thought.
If it has the same proportions, it's the same cast to me even if they differ with hoods and indicators.

If I am wrong, I'll have no problem admitting it. ;)

Just bought this rare Tomica today. As I was driving home, I plugged my iPhone to the car's auxiliary input and played "The Cannonball Run". :sly:

Er, of course it has the same proportions, they are one-year-apart Shelbys, they obviously are using the 2010 casting, only modified in the nose cone and other points. It's just like they did with the 70 Challenger, they rurned it into the 71 by adding a new grille and rear lamp panel and putting a couple of side air intakes on it, but it's esentially the same car. The new car will have a different nose cone and other tidbits, but it is esentially the same car as the 2010 car with enough differences to count as a new car.

New cast, like I said. I could tell from looking at the back fender it's not the same as a fastback, and that the front vent spans a larger size than the 2010 casting.

The standout is the Cement Mixer.
I think it was only released once, but I cannot find it on Southtexas..so not really sure.
Been meaning to reply to this, but i love that Sharkruiser! It is awesome and so is that cement mixer and the tank in the other picture! As for the cement mixer, i believe it was only released once because when i searched on HWC, there was only one that showed up like that. This cement mixer came from one of these action packs they used to sell in the 90's. This particuler one was apart of the construction set that came out in 1997 that also came with a Dirt Rover and a few accessories. These action packs aren't worth much, but they are a pretty good find in my opinion.👍

Went for a Rite Aid run for some scale models, but decided to stop by Dollar Tree and TRU on the way back. Turns out that Dollar Tree has...NO Hot Wheels anymore. There was a peg with only three on them. All the other pegs that normally had them were removed... :( On the other hand, TRU's all ready for Christmas. Buy $50 worth of Hot Wheels and you get a Winter 9-Pack Gift Set for free. Their pegs were really full too and yes, R1600, they still have a '40s Ford Coupe. :D Also Matchbox is finally up to date at my store and I never noticed, but there's a 20-pack out too. With some cars I'm begging to have. Like the Mazda2 and Morgan Aeromax! Some others that I can't think of at the moment, but it might be worth a check to go to TRU. 👍

I get what you're saying, and like Cano said.. it seems to be more of a cast modification than an entirely new cast.
Must admit, i had trouble spotting the differences, but yeah, they're there.

I guess it just comes down to the differences between mine and everyone else's definition of a new cast.

I thought (and still think), that exact same way about the 'Hot Ones' Supra/Celica... looks exactly the same as the poor cast 'HW' did years ago.
