I don't want my collection to get out of hand. My stock is starting to fill up the shoebox, and I don't know what to do when it actually reaches full.

Thanks for the inputs on Old's Matchbox. I'll keep my eyes peeled. đź‘Ť

you can't avoid it. it WILL get out of hand. after you fill an entire shoebox, you can always get another one. with time, it'll come to this:

and there are two more layers under that.

Quoted for truth. Even though I haven't been buying anything lately because the shops don't restock.
They don't restock rarely, they just don't restock.
I wonder if it has anything to do with nobody buying them with the price secretly going up and up.

Two more layers, huh?

I suppose you guys are right...... And they are just a buck, each. I think I'm at pace picking one up, like every other week, so it's not like I'm spending real money anyways. :)

Really! I can tell for sure, they're mine

Altough that picture is way old. As I am now I'm sure I have twice that ammount these days. My collection has grown almost exponentially in the last couple years.

Some of my favorites: (Same exact car, but NOT MY PICTURES)

Maybe I should have said "mostly sold in Europe". Same with Majorette these days. Or so I've heard.

Man, feels like I want to cry when you say Majorette. There's only one in my collection which is the Mitsubishi Evolution WRC out of all the bunch of Hot Wheels and Matchboxes. Now I'm pretty sure you've known this already but they are extremely rare here! Only one supermarket selling it and if you're too desperate, the airport is the only solution. Shame also that the price also been bumped up to MYR8 each car. The Rally cars now cost MYR9 each!

Well look on the bright side.
That WRC Evo is a mighty nice looking Majorette. đź‘Ť

Surely mate ;)đź‘Ť

I've uncarded the car to just, enjoy the masterpiece and put it on my shelf, the place where the best will go. I'm proud to have one of those rare castings.

sooooo HW just released a .PDF of the 2011 poster. Check it out and see what comes our way!

Gran Torino in that green color, Back to the Future Delorean, S2000, and the original GT-R. Those are the "must" get for me.

Question to the veteran collectors here: How soon do you guys expect to see those models in stores? I started looking for the DeLorean(from the movie) already, but no sign of it yet.

Edit: Missed the 240z towards the bottom. Nice!

The Torino in green has been in stores since last year. Heck, it's being sold in red now. The 240Z is Treasure Hunt so be sure to grab it if you ever find it.

As for knowing what is in stores at the moment, the best "gauge" is E-Bay. I expect the DeLorean to hit stores about april-may. Be sure to grab all yopu see as I'm pretty sure they are going to be one of the most cherished models for black marketing.

Honda M3 and the S2000...

Dude, Honda M3???? wtF...

Dang it, I have the red one. I thought the green looked WAY cooler, but all I see are red one's. Looks like I was too late on that one.

Thanks for the tips though. While I'm not looking to resell or anything, I will need at least a couple of Back to the Future DeLorean my own amusement. :D I sure hope I get lucky enough to find the 240Z!

Agreed, I scored on of those and a Citroen Xsara, which has a faded roof, not to happy, still in the box and the roof looks funny

I need to stop posting messages late at night.
I'm not even editing that now either. It's been quoted twice.

I will now commence with posting some of those rally Majorettes that everyone likes. Even though they've all been posted here before.

That truck is awesome. The back should open though. :indiff:

I have two more, but it seems I'm missing pictures.

The rally Majorettes were intresting with their full livery and stuff, but they are far from the best job Majorette could have done with them. Anybody has noticed that they don't have an interior? I would have paid the extra dollar or so if they'd had made them with full cages and all that.

I have like 6 of those, but frankly I don't even remember which ones, and worse, where they are.

Hot Wheels has had chrome interiors for yeeeears, and believe me, I'd rather have a chrome interior than no interior at all. As a last resource you always can pop open the car and detail it. You'll need to swap a full interior to a Majorette if you want any

I'm aware that they had chrome interiors for a while. I simply didn't buy the ones with chrome interiors.
But then that's just my oppinion.

Yeah, I know chrome interiors suck. The most disappointing one was when they put one in the Buick Grand National.

Anyhow, I was just going to start processing the pictures I took of my display, but realized that it has changed a lot since they were taken. For starters, the display is now complete and in the pictures, an entire stand is almost empty. That just can't be. Also, I've changed several cars since then and will change some more when the stuff I'm waiting for arrives. So I'll wait and put some order there, and then I'll share pics.

I have some pretty rare hot wheels myself. For example, my 1996 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series #70 Hot Wheels Chevrolet Silverado, my Chevrolet Silverado with Canadian Tire decals, my Radio Flyer Wagon with a V8 from 1994, and my Hot Wheels car with guitar shape body sides from 1996. I have about 200 other cars aswell.

As we know, we all collect Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Siku, Majorette and such. Some are crazy towards them, some are not so. So I would like to know the story behind your involvement of this hobby, how and who leads you to collect them?

As of me, I have a massive passion for cars. I may have bought some of these back in my early days, but I wasn't serious about them, you know kids. Since Hot Wheels is the cheapest way for me to own some of these super expensive or rare or even favourite cars - gone straight collecting some Hot Wheels. I thought of just buying one car, instead now I'm buying a whole lot of them. These thing is like a drug, you get one and you just can't stop for the second one. Complete poison!...

Having a hobby like this makes me feel easy to connect with the society. Some of my friends may not have the same interest as mine, but at least I would say something reasonable like collecting scale model cars as a hobby when anyone ask me of it rather than saying ''Owh, my hobby is... Errr... Arrr... Huh?''. This may not be a cheap (I've spent more than MYR800 for these) and a popular hobby, but I appreciate it and my parents understand my interest for cars.

I have no plan to stop collecting, maybe to slow it down a bit. I enjoyed every single one of them :)đź‘Ť
