Well, I must say you've come a long way from snatching cars out of kiddie hands.

If not for your amazing knowledge of diecasts, and your incredible artistic talents, I'd be ashamed to know you.

:lol:đź‘Ť!!!!!

Where is the ROFL smiley when you need one. :lol:đź‘Ť

This one?

I almost got suspended from elementary school when I was accused of bullying a child 3 years younger than me. Taking hot wheels off a kid's hand is 4 times worse and you should have your next 5 paycheques confiscated for it. And your lunch money.

Nooo, that's too much. I could grab a FE Drag Bus today for $20-30. I in fact had another loose one that came in a lot, and sold it at the convention for $25.

So no, 5 paychecs and lunch money is too much.

I still don't regret a thing. Back in the day, it cost me likee 60 cents of now.

Well there was plenty in supply, just felt like saving some bills in my wallet.

Also going up north to another Target while picking up my brother's PS3 from the repair place (of which it was completely dead and they couldn't fix it). Might be lucky there...

Hopefully i can get down to franks this weekend and find the blvds ive been missing. That and some GD MF-ing r34s. :( some scalper yanks em everywhere i go. And also some old matchbox supras would be good.

For the new supra release, someone NEEDS to take the front offa it and stick it to Super Tsunami. Rocketbunny ish custom right there, probably in the wrong thread but meh, it overlaps sometimes

Yeah, has never happened again since then. And I just put them behind some HW track sets in the same pegs. Of course that was ten years ago lol, today there are a lot more people in the hobby, so I'd be way more cautios if I had to hide something today.

AOS-
If you needed something and couldn't afford it at that moment, take it anyway and walk around the store to look like you're browsing other departments. Hide whatever it is in there and make sure no one was tailing you the whole time. Be the smarter squirrel and hide your goodies when no one else is looking.

All true. There's more and more people entering this hobby it isn't even funny. I began to hide cars around the age of 9 or 10, it saved me alot in different situations when I couldn't get a car every time I went out. But this was when people acted weird about older collectors (teens up to the elder collectors) and boys my age were dropping cars and figures for other hobbies.

But hiding stuff helps even more today, especially when you have done it many times :sly:. But like Andy says, watch your back at all times. It'll be a lifesaver.

Here's a tip: If someone is following you while you're trying to hide a car(s), lose them. If they follow you around, just browse around and keep your eyes on your prize (in your hands, that is) and don't give off any suspicion that you are hiding something (i.e. walking fast, changing aisles or stuffing things in obvious places.) If you don't lose the person yet, confront them, ask them why are you following me and blow whatever they are up to.

I got tips to even smuggle cars under your parents, uncles, aunts and grandparents if you don't want to hear any lecture about buying HWs or any type of scale car (I haven't tested 1:18 though.) :sly:đź‘Ť

Ah! Yes, Phil, teach them all that stuff.

Meanwhile I'm in the office staring at the large monitor that splits into 24 different CC camera views that show me exactly what you are doing, whether picking your nose, or stashing cars.

"Toy section code 404, code 404 in the toy section."

Only kidding. I left that life behind some time ago. If you ever worked in major retail, you'll know what I mean, though. ;).

Still trying to procure video of Cano.

Will never happen, now I buy all of the cars I want at will. In fact, I've started buying WAY TOO MANY repeats, as, er, I ran into a slight deal on some rubber tires, yet again (: and I now look at one car and it's like "this would look cool with a set of these or those wheels and a detailing" and into the cart it goes. the other day I bought 13. It's horrible.

Just stop spying me when I take a bath.

What do you do when you take a bath?

I am so used to working with surveillance equipment, (as well as working under CC scrutiny) that I behave almost always as if every move of mine is being recorded.

I have a huge meeting with my bank today - they have ripped me off on fees, and I have to sit with them today to sort it out - probably would take more than an hour. The good thing is my branch is a few doors away from the Toys R Us, so I'll be looking at some new cars finally today. :)

Well, I'm going to guess you just play with your rubber ducky.

Anything special I should look out for today? I intend to take some shots of the pegboards, and I'll bring you guys the photos later so that you can see what Toys R Us is offering right now. I may hit Walmart later in the afternoon as Grandpa has promised to take the boys shopping after school today, and I'm trying to make some time so I can tag along. Maybe he'll get me something, too.

Edit: Well, I've got to get going . . . nothing like firing off some juicy invoices to a client who pays promptly . . . so that's done . . . and back to the grunt work. BBL.

Have a good day . . . and yes, as strange as it sounds, I love you, too, Cano.

No, Thanks. I have to bear enough with the two I already have (even though one's an ex. ;) ).

Well, boys and girls, back with the loot!
Took pics of the pegboards - and will probably show them tonight - also walked out with about $75.00 worth of stuff.

There must be a trick to this 'Cause & Effect' magic . . . I'll master it someday.

Listen:
I go to the bank and sit down with the rep, sort out all the details, did some juggling with the accounts, opened a new one, and the end result is that now I'll be saving around $50.00 a month. Got out of the bank finally and hit Toys R Us - and woooooo - lots of new variations I don't have, so I'm picking away at them, and also grabbing some of the MB 60th stuff, and I'm wondering if I should go look for stuff that people have stashed.

But I couldn't bother interfering with their car marring, so I look around at the pegs more carefully and notice a sign that says that the 5-packs are on sale for $5.00 each! I look at the 5-Packs, and they are mostly fantasy crap, and while I'm mulling over whether I should pick any, suddenly a sales associate comes right up to me with a shopping cart full of 5-Packs (including several production models I wanted), leaves it by my side and takes off in a second.

I quickly grab 4 5-Packs. $20.00 for 20 cars.

Then I'm thinking . . . I don't really need to ever stash the cars I want. I'll just wait till the associate brings it to me. A much better 'cause and effect' scenario, hey? But how to get that effect all the time? What would be the cause?

Or could it be because I was standing there clicking with my camera, that the 'back office' observing that through the security cameras, thought I was a 'secret shopper' from the HO, taking pics of the merchandising? And quickly sent an associate over with sufficient product?

Pics later (including the associate's shopping cart full of 5-Packs.)

Edit: Pics!

Lunch and GTP break over. Bye for now.

You spy on your ex? eWow Harry that's some commitment you have towards your current wife. You lucky I don't know her because I'd snitch like a little ____. :P

Are the 2013 Ferrari 5 Packs at your place yet?

I never said that : I said that I have to bear with them.

However I have noticed that your reading skills suffer unbearably from hallucinations, hypnosis, and other troll-related perceptions . . . so it's par for the course.

Oh! Yes I got the Ferrari 5-Packs.

Now don't read that as "I got a Ferrari on my abdomen."

If you have said "I got a Ferrari 5-pack".....

If you ever drop by and see another one of those, can you grab one for me? You'll take money now, right? RIGHT? (cocks gun)

What do you guys get up to while I'm gone?! :scared:

And I'm quite shocked that this is part of the top ten searches about Hot Wheels on google! And this merge with ForzaPlanet also got more included in the group.

Congrats to Jason, and the thread founder SVX! :D:tup:
This thread has come a long way in less than two years.
This was my first post - and yes, that was less than two years ago, when the thread had just topped 2000 posts; we've spammed it no end, haven't we - adding over 14,000 posts since then.

Time to print it out as a coffee-table book? :D

Nice work, SVX. :tup;
When I first came on here, there weren't many of us - Cano spoke to me right away and Andy immediately critiqued my Reventon. Frostyboys was always around. So were Ryou, DrivingPark, a6m5, Apok, RACECAR, Robin and DiabolicWyvern, and of course the venerable SVX always present, always overseeing the thread. It's been a great two years - and definitely a 'thank you' to all who consistently contributed pics and stories, since then, and made the thread what it is today. đź‘Ť

Thanks, you two, I'm incredibly honored we've came this far, and extremely appreciative of what everyone has done here. It means a lot to me!

Here's to more years!

Whaaaat? :dopey: I've never even seen a matchbox-scale Legacy, much less a wagon, or MY WAGON (though I have a BK flat roof 2.2). That blue BP wagon is incredible, too. Most attractive wagon ever made, IMO.

You drive a Legacy wagon? YOU AWESOME GUY.

To be honest, my favorite Legacy model were the BH5 GTBs or Blitzens. Wagons of course. :P

^ No idea who made it and I can't look at it now, but I remember it was made to have a squishy suspension. I hope it wasn't one that I sharpie'd to fill in lost paint when I was little.

I'd say it'd be a Matchbox one. đź‘Ť

Welcome to the thread BTW, Wolfe.

Thanks! It's an EJ222, not sure what there is to drool about but it gets the job done offroad for my work and it's a pleasure on the road in my off-time. I love the car and it's cemented my relationship with Subaru, just not used to people appreciating a 140hp station wagon from afar.

Here it is with my previous car, an '85 318i. Sadly I had to let that one go. :(

Don't shoot, don't shoot! I'll get you one, promise.

Also . . . really horrendous news; it has been confirmed that the mail is up to no good. My Father in Law in BC sent me a model helicopter and two cheques for the kids - the cheques were cashed (not by us) and the chopper disappeared. The cars that Wyvern-64 sent me also vanished. And I lost a cheque (for 4Gs!) that was also cashed - all disappeared in the mail.
Now the authorities are working on it . . .but damn, there goes my trust in the mail. Several neighbors also confirmed that they had lost mail.
What is the world coming to? Urgh!

Strangely enough, the cars that Andy sent me got here in next to no time and all safe. I think I might have to limit my trading to him only. :scared:

^ Terrible news about your mail, Harry. (That cheque. :scared:) Hope everything gets resolved quickly. đź‘Ť

Andy, too. I walked out without posting. Thank god you showed up.

I didn't even notice Andy's posts. I was too pre-occupied with the discussion about Cano's bathroom routine.

Don't blame me, this all happened while I was asleep. :dopey:
Tonight's acquisitions:

Nice stuff. đź‘Ť
