@UchuuSheep, not if I want one carded I'm afraid. Think you can make a parcel about the size of a DVD Trilogy box set?

Not a problem, I've found an old Amazon.com box that should do the trick. 👍

It'd be darn hilarious if I received a third package that was Lego Architecture of the exact same building.

I need input.

I told the eBay seller that I want original base & packaging for the car, and if they can't produce them, I want a partial refund of $8. The total charge was $31($22 + $9!).

I received a reply this morning, and seller says they might be able to find a correct box, but finding correct base is a long shot.

I told them anything short of my original request was unacceptable. $31(they totally pads shipping charge) is collectible money for a complete car, not loose.

How would you guys handle this?

[2 cents] Finding the box is a long shot....if it came without one, chances are it never had one to begin with. Chances are it was lost long before it was ever listed.

Was it blatantly stated there was no box? If not, ask for something in return because - note the use of words - you're not fully satisfied. Don't jump the gun and "threaten" them with a negative feedback too early because then you might come off as a jerk to them. You got to at least make them feel bad for not satisfying a customer to trigger their pity flag.[/2 cents]

edit: new arrivals (in tidbits):

A later post will be like a jelly magnet. 👍

BECAUSE I CAN. Not looking to sell that one anyway. Got it for $4. You got $4 worth of jelly? Show me that jelly, boy.

As in the one in this photo of mine?

My 2J has different rims, and the HW livery Double Vision - did that even exist? I have it in a fully white color, and many of my friends own the white version (the common generic). Hmmm... well, it's rare. So I don't have it, so what?

I have two NSX racespec models... one, which is the common generic, and the other one is the HW livery. When I went to WalMart with my dad over a year ago, Hot Wheels came out with a new batch of cars. The common generic NSX racespec models were plentiful. They looked cool, so I picked one up. But hiding in the back, there was that oh-so beautiful NSX. I picked that one up too.

A week later, I was playing GT4, surfing around the American dealership. And what a coincedence - as I hovered over the Chapparal 2D, my dad came upstairs with a HW livery Chapparal 2D in his hand. My best friend at school loved Hot Wheels cars and collected many of them. He had an HW livery Duel Fueler, but not a HW livery NSX or 2D.

Also, a correction about the details I gave about the NSX; the NSX does have a number, but it's not on the hood like I stated. It's actually printed twice on the car, one on each side. :)

They actually offered me the correct box + incorrect base + $4 back, or the partial refund I requested of $8. I'm like you. I want to be firm, leave no room for misunderstandings, but I will be professional & will not resort to blackmailing.

Having said that, it sort of ended up resorting to the same effect. On the second email, I did tell them that if we weren't able to work things out, I am taking this to eBay/PayPal resolution center, then I got the OK on my requests instantly.

I think the original price they had on this car was nearly $50(+$9 shipping ). It was on sale for $24, I sent a "best offer" of $22, which they accepted. $59 for loose Kyosho? They are nuts.

Anyway, I'm glad they came around & to their credit, they were not only professional through out the whole deal, but polite as well. So glad eBay protects such purchase as this. I love Toy Peddler, but I think you are pretty much on your own on there. Thankfully, everybody I dealt with has been true pros. 👍

Great, I just missed two auctions because I was reading that post.

Missed out on a MB Porsche 911 GT1, '57 Bel-Air (HW classics).. now I got to wait until Friday for more bidding.

Was it that FiftyBelowZero guy? Yeah, he's little too wordy. It was like reading a novel.

:P

Just had a short-but mundane hassle with a seller. Before I get into it any further, how would you interpret this message?

seller
How about instead of canceling the auction I pay the difference between 3.75 shipping and what it will cost to ship to you just a thought instead of cancel thanks

You could say I wanted to cancel a purchase.

I wanted to grab more things but this guy suddenly had nothing left in his store so I asked if he would mind if I wait until he gets more stuff before paying. He was okay with it, but then he still had nothing to sell even like 4 days later and eBay kept sending me emails to "pay now! pay now!" So I asked if I could just cancel it altogether and alas we get that message.
