Saw a couple of those at Target for 89 cents.

Son wanted a purple car:

...and an orange one:

I think so; wanted to get him that one, but my son's color choices were the overriding factor...

Just curious, but does anyone else here consider selling carded Hot Wheels and loose Hot Wheels as two different markets?

It would make sense to think this way since you'd be losing profit on loose cars if loose cars and carded cars were looped together, I think at least.

Got my cars, but it's hit & miss:

Been wanting this one since McZ(he passed away sometime ago....) showed off his. I buy it, pay shipping, I see it on a peg at the local Toys R Us.

Yeah, I've been wanting these!

This did not let me down:

This did:

I wasn't going to buy this, but the teardrop window was the deciding factor. Not teardrop tampo! :( Actually, they have nice details, so I guess I'm happy afterall.

These were good:

Already out of package:

The End.

Edit: If anybody want to see the 1974 Ford Escort from the Fast & Furious 6, here's my post in the diecast forum.

I could have used that in commute this morning. Idiot slow cars in the fast lane made me miss my morning coffee(never mind I woke up late lol).
The 300 SL is made by Siku.
Very cool detail on that one.

He was doing so good!

Value's certainly affected. Is that what you mean?

Very sweet Camaro.

What I mean is that there are people who buy HWs that care if they're carded or not, and people who don't. When selling loose cars, the seller knows their losing money from the average $2 value on Hall's Guide if they use it, but if they consider loose HWs and carded HWs as two different markets, they don't have to worry about losing money. If they even subtract the price they bought the cars for that is.

Loose cars you're still making money, though obviously not as much as carded.

Damn, you can search all day long and find half your old car collection...but this was my favorite:

Didn't realize it was a Countach until well after I'd passed it on to my nephews (I'd beaten it up good, but I remember it well). The engine cover opened and closed with a little metallic "clink".

Good to know it's not all that expensive in used well-played condition.

Pics of the rest or nothing eever happened and you drive a Cavalier.

Does being 600 miles and three days away from home count?

(I haz twitter location and flight plans to prove it...)

Okay, my son has these (we counted about 50-60 cars - can't begin to remember them all):

For whatever reason, he's taken a real shine to this Maisto. Not a fan of the quality:

Donated cars from long, long ago - don't bother asking about them, they're probably in a landfill:

Because there are people who do just that, that is how my dad found this for me:

I ain't even going to restore it. It's got a 4-second backstory now.

We found one in the dirt outside my mother-in-law's house a few months ago. It's called "Diesel Boy"...cleaned it up a little, rolls around fine. Likely from whoever lived there before:

Found another inside a couch when helping to moving it out of my sister's house. Gave it to my daughter, but it's probably in a box somewhere.

That's a wrap for now...

AOShimas got the wheels I want to do most of my Japanese customs with.

Good news is, that all of the 1:64 castings are put together by screws, hence taking them off is a walk in the park.

EDIT: @Cano

My next targets:

And this will be a very tough one...

And I don't intend on collecting more of those Itasha-themed models.

Been bugging me for a few years, so can anyone help me out with this?

I have a Hot Wheels wreck (a salvageable one at least), but it throws up many questions.

Firstly, the base quite clearly says - "Show Hoss II"

2015-02-19 14.55.23.jpg

However, Show Hoss II this is not. This is Vega Bomb, a 1975 release, quite contradictory the 1969 Show Hoss II chassis.

To make things weirder, Show Hoss II was a 1977 release, and I doubt a casting would be delayed almost ten years.

To finish everything off, we have an odd green wheel:

And if you look carefully at the first picture, you can see another name - "Top Eliminator", which was a 1974 release that underwent a new colour scheme in 1977.

So is this a one off prototype? Is it rare? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have had this car since I was about 6 and it has always fascinated me.

Ok, let's dance. The funny car chassis under your Vega Bomb (quite rare car you have there btw, it's great that you've kept it all this time) is the same chassis used in the redline-era Snake and Mongoose funny cars, but the casting was modified troughout the years to acommodate everal different bodys, including the Vega Bomb, Show Hoss II, and if I remember correctly, a Vette and a Plymouth Arrow, but I'm not sure of those two, they could have been on the new funny car chassis that was introduced in the late 70s/early 80s. Oh, and the Top Eliminator was a late 70s/Early 80s version of the Snake 'Cuda funny car body of the redline era, either in gold chrome or in red with tampos.

Also, to clarify, your car is missing it's interior.

I knew about the interior, doesn't detract too much for me. Another thing is the red colour - only ever seen Vega Bombs in orange and green, and what about the single green wheel? :odd:

I also noticed your car's color, but I had not seen your location. What you have in your hands is a very very VERY rare France-only release of the car, which is much easier to come by in Europe of course, but that doesn't make it any less rare and extraordinary.

And the green-coloured wheel is a common consequence of the passing of time in vintage chrome in Hot Wheels (:
