Hello guys, it's been a while.

Just found this from YouTube:

Would you spend 2200 yen on that? Oh, it looks the same as the ones made by the OEM.

Indeed, Jason and Cano as well for that matter, need to get on board with this HW avatar cult thing we have going.

You are right, I forgot about Cano.
:P

Sorry I missed out on this after two days or so? I dunno, haven't checked GTP in a while due to being submerged in an absolute pool of work, I should be done by today, tomorrow at most, then I'll look for something to make into an avatar, maybe the new flared Cougar, since Hot Wheels hasn't released a single decent hot rod in years.

Meanwhile, Roadkill dog!

No. Bulgy edges and untouched parting lines on the wheels does not make it 2200 yen for me.

Surprised to hear that you already had a transaction going with him, but sucks to hear how it went south. I have one seller I could purchase almost weekly from. I have thought about asking him to hold my stuff for couple of weeks, but instead, I think I've made about four, five purchase of about eight cars at a time. I can't see this seller screwing me like the other seller screwed you, though.

He's not a bad person. It's a good business strategy. I'm sure it costs a lot more than $6.55 to ship to Canada. Apparently that's what the shipping amount has been with every car I've added to the load. Clearly he's taking money from the item's value and using that to cover shipping expenses, and anything else is profit. That might explain why he doesn't want to drop prices to $1 per car.... but maybe he oughta adjust how he prices his shipping then.

Got these today from Kmart.

My new favorite muscle casting

I have the silver NSX but forgot the red one.

Decided to get this since I have the orange one.

Muscle 5 pack from a grocery store.

That Galaxie has tempted me for so long and I've still been able to put it off thankfully. I may begin a small collection on that when Walmart drops to their clearance sale again.

The '71 Challenger used to be one of my favourite HW muscle castings... until I noticed how silly the axle length was. The '70 AAR Cuda is amongst my most memorable muscle casting I stopped collecting, and I didn't realize just how many I had until I stored my cars away.

It is not. Most "Kmart Exclusive" mainlines aren't that special. I don't even have any Kmarts here and I can get them online for the same prices as the mainlines the respective sellers lists them for.

Someone was shocked I took apart about 8 K-Mart exclusive Meyer Manx for their wheels, and I really didn't share any of their feelings towards it. Seller only wanted $2 per each car. That sure doesn't sound special to me.

I never got the Manx or the bump around I see them on the pegs but I don't get them. I don't usually get fantasy cars I try and get the real life cars.

I used to like that '71 Challenger, too. Now I'm annoyed by them.

Hit many stores today, got two cars. One was that new Belvedere by M2 I've been after. Been also looking for "Zombie" monster truck. Having gone thru like couple hundred of those trucks, I came home with a Ninja Turtles instead. I did get to see the "Zombie" though. It was a two pack, so I passed. :ouch: Sorry @commodoreben no Homer, no Supra. God, those two cars cost me so much in time & gas.

@AOS- I got the cars mailed out today, but I passed on the tracking service(requires much higher shipping). In the past, you could track with the customs form #: LC678170176US

Edit: It works!

Thanks dude. Always pass on tracking if it's extra. For me anyway. I'll ship your stuff out on Friday.

Also, red cars are the best to photograph. :D

By the way guys, with my new job and living situation I will be changing some things up with collecting, etc. I will only have access now to a single Target, a single Walmart, a single KMart, and maybe a couple grocery stores to look for cars. However, my gross income each month will rise quite a bit so I will be purchasing whole 72 count cases every month. I will be keeping what I want, and then I will be starting up a webstore to sell the leftovers + some other stuff as sort of a "second job". No more eBay for me.

Yes. It will be at least a couple months before it's even started, have to get settled in to my new place and see what my work hours are.

Congrats on the new job. Can we expect to see another 0.99 cent starting bid eBay store? If this store stays relatively private, I can easily become a frequent customer. no more $2.80 per old mainline. No more $1.50 for current mainlines.

Dude, congrats on the new life! I hope you settle soon and have a good work ambient and stuff. where are you gonna be living now? :0 Details about the whole change?

I would also try to get my mainlines from you, at least the ones that are hard to find over here (:

Congratulations on the new job, Jason. Best of luck! 👍

That's OK Ben, I'll find it eventually. Thanks for offering though. 👍 I'll see how many cars I got for you, see what the total is in next few days.

I usually have some cars on my desk. Well, I have cars everywhere the sun don't shine, but . . . . anyway . . . the cars on my desk haven't changed in a long time - perennial favourites because I drive them a lot in assorted auto-based video games. For instance the Tomica GT-R reminds me a lot of the GT-R I have in TDU2 and on occasion after fiddling it with all day I get the urge to get off on it and boot up the console as soon as I have the chance to get in it and just maul the countryside with Godzilla.

I noticed recently, though, that Porsches seem to be making a comeback on my desk; and this coincides with the fact the I've been flooring it a lot in RUFs.

The STi that fills my pocket to work everyday for the last week must be an anomaly. Or the beginning of the end - there goes all available desktop space.

Hmmm. Now I wonder if I could rig up some sort of fold-able quick set-up mini drag-strip . . ..

Right now, because I would have to pay full price for the boxes, mainlines would be around $1.49, TH's around $3.49 and $upers around $9.99, just to be able to make the money back on what I paid for the box and get a few bucks back in profit.

Might find it at a hobby shop that I go to, they have a lot of 90s and early 2000s cars. If I can't find it then I can always buy one off EBay.

Yes, collecting today is not really the way it was. Become more of a trading game. For money of course. :)

Hard-core collectors will rarely part with any car in their possession. But some 'traders' start to hold back models, and before they know it become 'collectors' in a way, too - and will not part with those models (unless of course the price is right. :D )

The good thing about the 'instant' availability of most commercial collectibles is that it does make it easier to collect - and when we're talking HWs, well . . . it's a lot cheaper to source and maintain than a collection of say, Golfing Trophies, or signed NASCAR memorabilia.

At the moment that First Edition Stratos should be easy to procure, and not too expensive. For me, it's a 'keeper'.
Hope you have it soon.
