2009 Connect Cars (Wisconsin). Hmmmmm. :)

Hot wheels vs matchbox panameras.

I have my suspicions that Matchbox/Hot Wheels found efficiencies by using the same basic casting? (Hot Wheels obviously removing the mirrors, adding spoilers on front/rear).

Like would it make sense for both to start from scratch? It gives Matchbox a chance at a new model that they might not otherwise get (since Mattel seems to be quietly starving that line).

Think they do use the same casting the wording is different on the bottom.image.jpgMatchbox

Hot wheels.
Maybe some minor differences but I think they're the same.

Word. I'd much rather see your "trashed" stuff than all the supermarket trash everyone posts. Please do get pictures of them. If they're of the same caliber as a redline custom Bug, well yeah...
Yeah the same supermarket "trash" you beg me to purchase for you. :P

that's not the same. I ask you to buy that stuff for me because

a - it isn't available here
b - you don't attend fleamarkets so you cannot chase down old loose cars for me.

I could care less about pictures of new cars because there is no excitement in finding them unless they're pretty limited, and even so you can see pics of them online (errors, hush, you're the exception). It's another matter altogether when someone finds an old car, be it in minty condition or in beat up shape, because there is something you can appreciate, and that is precisely it's condition.

With a supermarket car, well of course it's new, you just opened it, I can go and see mine if I want to see one. Yet with an old car the condition you found it in is what makes it fascinating and interesting to see, from "omg that's mint as hell" to "yeah that'll buff out with a hammer".

You can see pics of old ones online, in varying condition, too.

Yes, but they're not in the hands of people I know so I can't complimment on them. So I could care less about them, either. But if someone from here posts them it's another matter altogether.

Still "supermarket trash" according to your own rule.

By all means.

No. Trust me. You DON'T want to see them...

But if you really insist, I'll post some pictures later. ;)

P.O.S.T. T.H.E.M. ;):P

Oh alright. :grumpy:

And before you ask, yes, these ALL are original redlines.

This was a Custom Mustang. :( I'm gonna try to fix it. :nervous:

Used to look like this

It is what is referred to as a "crumbler", where Mattel used poor quality metal. Over time the metal would develop hairline cracks, allowing moisture inside, destroying the car. Unfortunately, there's noting you can do about it. :( But at least the engine is still good. :dopey:

I'm gonna try to restore whatever I can, but they are all VERY bad.

Can anyone that buys supermarket trash keep an eye out for this variation for me? Please?

I hope there's a mainline release of this. These multi-pack exclusive wheel variations are proving to be a PITA for variation collectors.

I'm seeing that the multi-packs are usually 1-2 cases ahead of the single releases. I bet the 24/Seven is K case.

I haven't posted my cars yet (I got quite a few ;)).

Here's some of my favorites:

My line-up of NSXs

My Vettes

I also got some cars from the Fast and Furious Edition

And this beauty.

I only collect real cars. A funny thing about me was, when I was younger (like 15) I used to play with my cars like I was playing GT. I was weird when I was young XD
