Checkout at Walmart:

Cashier - Oh. Are you a collector?

a6m5 - Yes I am.

Cashier - I can always tell! <<<I'm checking out 7 hot wheels. Duh. lol

a6m5 - Except those. Those two 🤬-up looking Vipers are for someone else.

OK, I made up the last bit.

Even when getting upwards of 30 cars, all I get is to see the cashier looking down at the cars and looks about ready to face palm. :grumpy:

That's why I use self service... And spend 20 minutes waiting for assistance because my note jammed in the damn thing.

I did buy something like 20 for a friend once (birthday, and I knew he liked the cars) and honestly, it'd be less awkward if I turned up with some Gentleman's interest magazines and tissues...

Male cashiers, they almost never say anything, but when they do, it's a compliment. Female cashiers, they often do have something nice to say. Sometimes, they frigging stop in middle of scanning & start checking out the cars with "OMG, it's so cute", or "where did you find this one!".

Best one's are at Walmart though, when I'm buying ammunition & hot wheels. Again, guys almost never say nothing. Ladies, they start chuckling(me too).

Whats wrong with the Vipers?

Fixed for you mate. That's how I like to imagine it went anyway. :P :sly:

Seriously, that Road Trippin' Dodge is cool. 👍 I like the look of that series, just a pity that I haven't seen them down here yet.

The problem I have with cashiers comes at Kmart, and its a little humorous. Every time that I get more than one Hot Wheels car or any other car that would be seen as a toy to non-collectors, there's a beautiful female as the cashier. It never fails. I walk up to the checkout lane and see this same sight, and I have no idea what to think.

Personally, I really don't care what they may think, but if you really want to break the ice or whatever, all you can do is look at her straight in the eye & go "don't judge me, ok?" "You think you are better than me!?" would be funnier, but it doesn't work well on strangers.

Are you looking at it upside down again mate? :P

Yeah, I do realize that car is not for everyone.

Either that or buy a bunch of stereotypical chick cars, like Eclipses, Mustangs, Corvettes, etc.

Tomica Spyker C8 Laviolette SWB:

Release date - June 21

At least there is a 1:64 scale version of that Spyker coming soon. Most scale models of that car are hard-to-find, 1:43 resin models.

And I hope Tomica doesn't screw up that sexy rear:

And here's another new Tomica coming soon:

If you like the car, more power to ya. I'm always for variety(just ignore me when I start going like this > I know I do that a lot!).
sexy rear:
 see!

Tiny microscopic bit ironic. I've been seeing tons of these things by Johnny Lightning. Johnny Lightning of course used to be owned by Tomy, who also run Tomica. God I miss JL.

Make a pickup line of it

"Don't worry, I can drive you home in a real car if you want" or something less teen who thought of that in a few seconds...

Ladies just want to make conversation. Guys usually make a boring cashier. Did I tell you about the time a lady humourously went "boys and their toys!" when my bill hit $74? I nabbed a handful of HW Classics and Hot Ones that day.

Collectors tend to be the same way. I'll talk to anybody while going thru the bins, or pegs, but females will generate conversations with you, while collectors(all guys), if you don't say nothing, they say nothing.
Is this even possible............. Was the Canadian dollar down that day? :D

You know I spend around that online sometimes, but off the top of my head, I can only recall spending about half that at a physical store.
Yet I haven't found an Enterprise, Jetsons or Homer.

*grumble grumble*
People can't find those around here either. I found all three, but it wasn't easy!

Don't attempt a long shot where you eat(in this case, where you shop). Words to live by. :D

Funny I see some Americans on here saying the cool ones CRX is a bit hard to find.

I've seen a whole bunch in store lately down here, not interested though haha.
My local Walmart still has a couple, and I stopped by Target yesterday and they have a few now.
