Haven't posted in awhile, been busy and for the better part of the past few weeks it's been very dry (of new product). But in the past week I've picked up quite a bit, maybe I'll get some pics up this week....end. lol

I also saw the Gulf Drag Bus is now backordered until June. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I got two cars on the way home tonight. It's even better than Super Treasure Hunt, because these things are worth moar!

Auto World '71 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Chase in UltraRed

This thing is a beauty. Unfortunately, my bright light bulb went out, so I can't take a nice picture right now.

That thing is really cool. Haven't seen any Top Gear cars around here, will keep an eye out for them.

I think I'll finally start buying Cool Classics. :P

Nice, those are definitely the best the cool classics has seen (imo). I picked up a couple this weekend for the first time in awhile. I'll probably never see that Datsun though.

Took all of them out of the package. I have 10 cool classics now.

This one isn't too bad either. Nice pickup.

My collecting stems from playing with Hot Wheels as a kid. Today, its being able to buy cars that I will never be able to have the real thing of, customizing, investing, and just liking cars in general. Those that didn't have HWs to play with as a kid certainly missed out.

I buy them, because they are neat........

I'm starting to wonder how they actually stay in business. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in any kind of hurry, and I'm not one of those guys in RLC forum crying at Mattel, but this series of pushed back backorder's amateurish to say the least.

Sold the same night I listed it on eBay. Funds have gone toward Tomica Limited Vintage.

:P

I will be on a lookout for this one, too. I actually suggested that we should have some kind of alliance, so say I see three, I buy all three & share it amongst the group. Anybody in?
Collecting has became a serious addiction for me. :nervous::lol:
Join to the party.

It's kinda the same for me, although I was always most interested in more "realistic" cars, that had rubber tires. I remember when I started collecting about three years ago, I would always count the few cars I did have, and enjoy buying more. Now I shake my head at how many cars I have, and I often feel like I have to buy cars whenever I go to the store.

*a6m5 looking at Spacegoat post : 1st pic, good, good, good, good. 2nd pic, good, good, good, good. 3rd pic, no, oh god, no, what!?, uh-uh. :scared:

@a6m5 - I'm in. I know where a few Toyota pickups are but nobody has spoken up about wanting them.
You & me bro, you & me. If Toyota pops up the same time as the Bluebird, I definitely want it, but as it stands, it's just a 'meh' for me. Thanks for offering though. 👍

I'm sure @commodoreben will want to get in on this, too. We'll look really stupid if this pops up all over the place, but we have excellent reason to be paranoid on this one. If we don't have enough to cover everybody, we can just draw the lucky winner(s)!

Well I'm sure their mainline/track/sets keep them afloat lol. The RLC side, I assume, is really just icing on their profit cake. And it's obvious they don't give a rat's behind about anyone there. Whatever, it's not like we can go make them ourselves though so.....

lol that'd be nice to find one of it, let alone three of it. I did find a cool classic that I think many want this weekend though, but there was only one left of it on the shelf...and some 32 Fords and a bunch of older models.

Thank you for all the likes. :)
In a sense, they don't really mean anything - but they tell me you appreciated and enjoyed those pics - which of course means more than a lot. I see, too, that you have been reading back into the thread - yes - this thread can be a real time-waster - ask the Panda, who does nothing else but read this thread forwards, backwards and sideways.
Who is the Panda? Well, if you've read the thread you'll know.
I don't have the time that I used to have, to post as often as I used to post, (especially pics) but I still do drop in at least once or twice a week so that I can gnash my teeth in rage at what a6m5 is not collecting, or have a chuckle at Cano's comments, or check out Andy's latest pics.
And of course to look at what everybody else is nabbing off the pegs, and off the web.
There are so many collectors in here now that it's probably time to take a roll call. Just to make sure no one gets lost.

------------

And now some tips about cleaning your cars.

*hands mic to Cano.

Do you still have that epic diorama setup? 👍 Here's my "haul" from Walmart today:

The CVS I first stopped in to check out the Hot Wheels selection had a whopping 7 cars to choose from, none of which I was remotely interested in. I did however spot a Nissan GT-R in the parking lot on the way out; pictures are in the DYSAGT thread. 👍 Either the employees are too 🤬 lazy to unload the new boxes likely sitting in the stockroom or nobody cares about a store in the middle of nowhere *over 30 miles from the next closest big box store*, because these were the only cars worth picking up, a pillow pack 1969 Pontiac Trans-Am and the TVR Tuscan S. I'm likely done with this Walmart for a very long time in terms of collecting.

After I slow down on growing my collection..

Which you've seem to have forgotten to do.

I'd like to get into wheel-swaps & diorama. Great once in awhile, I browse eBay for diorama pieces, but I never buy anything.....

Wheelswaps first, yo. Dioramas will run you a lot of money, especially when you start getting into fancier things and making your own pieces (which I highly recommend for the 400% cool factor)

I'll take one, an S2000 and mayybe a Bluebird. I said I wouldn't collect any cars that couldn't fit in any of the cases I have, but screw it, it's a Toyota Truck.

You know me well A6. Count me in on the Cool Classic Datsun.

Yes, I have several separate set-ups - a 9' X 4' city that has a drag-strip, race track, and city intersection all attached together to scale for 1:64s, a 3' X 4' set up for 1:32s, and other smaller set-ups for 1:43s and 1:55s. I really haven't got into the 1:18s yet since I don't have too many of them.
This is all strongly connected to my collecting.

Having hung out here for a few years with the various collectors on GTPlanet I would think that people collect for different reasons - though I would hazard that the worst reason to collect would be to compete with other's collections.

Just this morning I gave serious thought to putting everything else in my life on hold (except for maybe eating and crapping) and spend a whole day with my models; that would be heaven. Must. Make. This. Happen.

In other news: over here Target is driving me mad by screaming in their flyers that the 5-packs are on sale for $4.99 each. Urgh. The nearest Target is several junctions away.

Yup. Junctions. Whole blocks of them.

Went to Walmart and got these.

Summit chevelle
Need for speed Sesto which I'll keep in the package since I have 2 of them.
And a Ryura Lx never saw this in stores when it came out.

Still no sign of the Mastretta here. Ugh...wonder if TRU does have more Greenlights in stock. Also does anyone make a 1/64 scale model of the current Jeep Grand Cherokee? Was never really a fan of them, but I always seem to be working on them.

Nice find @RCKakashi14 & @photonrider's 9ft diorama!

I do have one addition today(from eBay):

Hot Wheels Red Line Club/HWC Evil Weevil

Oh, yeah. Their main operation seems to be very well ran. HWC/RLC is where I get the impression that they just do it on the side, and lacking effort.
pillow pack
I had never heard them called that before(just looked it up on google). Nice Firebird, too. 👍
Which you've seem to have forgotten to do.
I'm old.

If I do diorama, I'd do one. One & done.
You know me well A6. Count me in on the Cool Classic Datsun.
Roger-roger. 👍
I like that TH Speedbox 👍
I do have to take back my comment on that. That is a neat little van wagon thingie.

Nice Evil Weevil :) although it kills me to see it loose. :(
I used to be like you.......

:P

I was going to get the "Hot Wheels" themed one at first, but that one had street tires, plus headlights were either unpainted, or didn't stand out, so I went with this one. Not bad for $13(or $12, I forget) shipped! :)

If I got one over two others, I'd make it a personal requirement to get the others. More than $10, but under $15, is a great deal.
