Jeez, I thought it was a huge box . . . and then . . . just two cars.
At least they were really awesome Mustangs; took some of the pain away.

@AOS- Man, beautiful work again - I like all three cars (and the photo-treatment, of course,) but what you've done with the T-Bird is eye-candy; wouldn't it be great to cruise down the boulevard IRL in a car like that.
Yeah.. . . .
Why can't Mattel get those windshields on the convertibles right - they never stay down unless glued.

I'm ready whenever dawg. 👍

You deserve a free vacation. To the great & wonderful Guantanamo Bay resort.

I'm old, I get it!

And no, I have no cool cars, except this today:

Look familiar? Card came beat to crap, but I planned on opening it anyway. Harry's still little bit nicer, but this one looks cool in its own way. 👍 P.S. Love your "35" Deora II(or whatever it's called).

We have long ways to go. Rong ways, my bad.

There's just too many chuckles in that post.
Actually, you know I'm a lot older than you, honourable san ; I was referring to how long you were here at GTP.
MG! Compliments on my 35 and Otto! I'll never live this down.
Listen . . . you are after the long wrong Otto, Mitsubishi - this is the one you want:

Elton found out there were two Ben's in the die-cast world?

Wonder how many Harrys there are. :irked:

Great base for a Bonneville car! Just strip the stupid paint, add scallops and a number, chop it, a blocked grille and a diffuser at the rear and to the salt flats you go. You already have correct wheels so no need to fight the metal base for a wheelswap!

Here's the package - in case one wants to keep it under wraps:

Others in the series:

I have the '34 Ford, and I want the Swedish Chef's Super Van. The rest ... not so much.

And another Otto on the run:

Quick question!

I know you US guys pay a buck for a mainline Hot Wheels.
But how about the rest of you?
You know, prices in Canada - Australia - UK - Mexico , or wherever you're from..

Australia

Mainline - $2-$3 (~$1.50 on special)

Cool Classics - $10
Boulevards - $3
Hot Ones - ~$6
Pop Culture - ~$12

Bolded ones aren't always easy to find.

Used to be 99 cents like America. As of 2011, regular prices at Walmart went to $1.34. About a year ago, it went up to $1.37. Toys R Us is always $1.49, Target was between $1-$1.30, not that I remember since I don't shop there.

Matchbox is $1.34 now at Walmart.

Every now and then, Walmart will drop the prices on both brands to $1.

Hot Ones were $3, only found at TRU and a specialty toy store.
Boulevards are $3.92 at Walmart, $3.99 at TRU.
Pop Culture, Retro Entertainment, 2012 HW Racing Series, were all $5.47-$5.93, all at Walmart.
Flying Customs were $2.99 at Walmart.
Cool Classics are $3.92 at Walmart.
Walmarts are $1.50 at Walmart.
Team Hot Wheels (the ones with white and blue super fast wheels) were $2.99 at Walmart.
Designer Challenge were $3.99 at the specialty toy store.
HW Classics were $3.99 at the specialty toy store.
Garage Series were $4.99 at the specialty toy store.

I guess i'm getting ripped off here in Denmark.. :(

Mainlines are $3,70... And that's all we've got. :nervous:

The really good stuff: Ebay

.99 cents to .84 cents for basics depending where you shop highest I saw was $1.25 for new ones at a grocery store that doesn't sell hot wheels, they just have a stand. My hobby shop sells them for $2.00 a car but they're from 90s/ mid 2000s.

It applies here too, all the time. But there is more chance to find "difficult" stuff in smaller stores.
Maybe for you.

I thought I would be better off in a small town for HW hunting. Boy was I wrong. Next payday I plan on getting a case subscription through 1 stop diecast and getting my own case every month. Need to get my site going to I can sell the extras...

I went to three different stores this morning to check out the Hot Wheels and....... the same ones were sitting on the shelf since my 20 car raid last month in 2 of the stores. :grumpy: Even the good Dollar General on the south side of town had nothing good. As you might figure out, I came home empty handed. 👎

General rule of thumb for new, basic cars in the USA is that the smaller the store, the more you'll pay for them. At least in my experience anyway.

Both of these are true, at least where I live. I have found Treasure Hunts at Dollar General several times before.

And I'll be waiting for pics of each available item. :D
Of each? Not with my phone.

Here is what is left, minus one Snoopy, one Datsun 620, one Lambo Veneno and one '71 Challenger. Box had no TH's and zero Civics, which pissed me off.

Hey Mr "getting rid of my basic cars for fancy pants stuff", got any Hot Wheels Lambo Gallardo Superleggera's you're getting rid of? :P
Not in my current stock, but likely down the line. I really want to wash my hands of most mainline cars. Not because I don't like them, but I really have to look hard at what I can/want to keep due to the growing volume.
Actually, you know I'm a lot older than you, honourable san
I doubt it. How are you still alive?

:P
this is the one you want:
No way man, your red one & my Otto smokes it. :mischievous:

Hot Ones - ~$6

Reject Shop did have Hot Ones for $3 for awhile last year. But after seeing @Clocktower's post, almost $4 for mainlines. Makes me feel a little lot better about some of the prices down here.
I need to move to North America.

Just avoid Oregon. @a6m5 lives there apparently, it's a very strange place from what I've heard.

Haven't been to Toy World in ages. They never seem to update their stock, it gets very tiring seeing the same cars on the pegs every time. And they are fairly expensive too, think it was like $3 for mainlines? The only decent things I ever got from there were a few Hot Ones and a couple of 2011 treasure hunts.

Oi, can I have the remaining Snoopy? How much? I'd also like one of the blue 67 Mustangs and the Hotchkis Challenger, if possible (:

EDIT: Oh and the extra Mini! Those are very hard to find over here for some reason.

RE-EDIT: Oh dude dude DUUUUDE, if you see this please please grab me like 3! This thing is awesome!

@Cano, I get first before everyone else here. I paid for that.

Dang I can't even grab a snoopy?!

This doesn't look like it's shaping up to be a well-spent $34, dude.

Gimme:

2x Nitro Doorslammers
Super Van
2x Fig Rig
3x Ice Cream Trucks
Fast 4WD
Baja Truck
2 x Back Slider
Black/Orange Bike up top, not Street Noz
2x Twin Mill
Snoopy (if that one in the pic is available and that I simply misinterpreted your words)
Sharkruiser
2x Brazilian Dodge Charger
2x Dodge Charger Daytona
Alfa Romeo 8C
Mini Cooper
2x Dodge Coronet Super Bee
2x Lambo Sesto
2x Lambo Veneno
Nissan R34
Datsun 620 (if still available)
Dodge Ram
2x Toyota Tundra

You can send everything here loose, unwrapped even (to save you time on wrapping and less garbage on my end)... EXCEPT the Mini Cooper, 8C, one Veneno, R34. Do the Half-torn card thing I asked you to do before. Those are going in the collection.

Case was $73 shipped as you said. I already got you $30. I'll add the remaining $7 to the total of the shipping once you ship out that box.
If there's a problem with anything, let me know.
