I have never understood why Hot Wheels has never stuck to a set scale, sure in the early years production limitations might have been the reason but why they didn't make the switch?

Now you get brands like Auto World which are true 1:64 scale and I wouldn't mind paying that little but extra with HW to end up with a collection which all looks proportional to each other. All other sizes of model car and scaled so why not the bigger maker of them all with the largest licensed line up.

If they were all 1:87 for example I would be buying them all each each year, I know HW tried some 1:87's but it never took off. They don't have to be super detailed, just the same HW quality at a right size.

It has the same mold as the Maisto's but slightly bigger with better wheels and details. Still not a true 1/64 scale, though.

But still, it's definitely worth the buy. Don't settle for the Maisto one...

They design them to a specific size so they will fit on the standard blister card.

I was going to say they size them in relation to the standardized wheels.. but that wouldn't be true due to some cars having those very same wheels be too big for their body.

If Auto World has been labeled to deliver "true" 1:64, does that mean Kyosho and high-end Tomicas weren't accurate then?

Kyosho does make a 1/64 787B. you can find one every now and then by some primary Kyosho seller on eBay.

Do they have a 787B, and where can I spend a whole paycheck on one?

They actually do every livery for the 787B. The LeMans winner is obviously the most expensive of the bunch, but there are also cars with the blue/white livery. I have that one.

And no, that is a Kyosho, directly from Dabox 👍

Looking at some Konami's now, but their detailing is lacking a little. Gah, why must I have to pay for a new car. :grumpy:

 I'll make sure to get pics of the RX7s I received the other day, as well as the JGTC cars coming my way in about two weeks, so you'll fall even more in disgrace.

Just admit you jelly as doughnuts.

That 787B is ballin'.

But so is this:

^ They're 1680x1050 if you want wallpapers. Just adjust the image URL accordingly. ;)

Unless I'm just not looking in the right place, I can't find Kyosho cars at my local TRU. I'm starting to get a little mad, I'm already jealous.

They aren't sold in stores in the States. Same where I live, so the only place to get them for me is eBay.
