Bought this BBR MC12 GT1 a few days ago. It wasn’t originally a purchase I intended, especially considering
how my last BBR purchase went , but I spotted it at a model car specialist's, pondered for a bit, and decided to give another chance seeing there's no MC12 in my collection. After all, why not? It's just $20.
Much to my surprise, it actually is quite good. It doesn’t have any painted interior unlike the road versions, but the paint is smooth, I don’t see any places where there’s just no paint, the metal emblems are nicely done and stick pretty well, and the rear wing is actually, AFAI can see, painted, which is something you don’t see often at this scale. And you know what’s something even more uncommon at this scale? The fact that 90% of this car’s livery is done with tampo-printing
None of that ugly-as-sin poorly done decals; there’re decals (the “Aucott” lettering, for example), but you can hardly see the decal film.
I still think BBR’s are kinda a hit-and-miss with their releases and QC, though. There’s no way it could’ve been
this bad and still get a pass from the manager.
So maybe I’ll stick to buying them from reputable retailers.
