I'm pretty sure I saw one on a gas station in Montecarlo (Inside of it, not charging fuel) but I was driving away.


02) BMW M3 E30

This is probably my favourite "normal" car ever. Pure car-porn. Fun to drive, incredible design. Pretty sure I will own one sooner or later .


03) Lancia Delta HF Integrale

Probably the best rally car ever made, if you ask me. I remember my neighbour having one of these when I was a kid (like this one in the pic). I passed entire days looking at this beast.


04) Alfa Romeo 75 Evoluzione

One of the best looking Alfas ever made. Incredibly aggressive design and pure sound. Majestic.


05) BMW M3 E36

I loved this car like a son, it was SO BADASS and gorgeous. Rest in peace my love.

As you can see, I'm mostly a classic-euro car lover. I wanted to be very honest (and that's why I repeated a few brands a couple of times) but there's a LOT of cars I really, really like. Some modern cars too.

1.) Audi RS6 Avant

"Hauls ass AND groceries AND children!" -A friend of mine who basically explains every reason why I love this car.

2.) Nissan Stagea 260RS Autech "Skyline GT-R R34 Wagon"

Okay, technically it isn't a GT-R, but it may as well be. It's one with more practicality than most modern SUV's, and it has the same driving characteristics as the R34.

3.) Mazda Cosmo JC

It's the RX-7's classy sister! Seriously though, if I were to choose one car with a rotary engine, this is number 1 (with the FD being a close second). It's got the looks, the speed, and the comfort I want in a garage of mine.

4.) VW Phaeton W12 6.0

I don't know why I'd want of these, I just do. It's a brilliant piece of engineering from a (now questionable) stoic German car manufacturer. A pseudo-Bentley Flying Spur.

5.) VW Golf R

It's a very mature yet playful hot hatch and it's a mighty fine car on road as well. It suits my personality perfectly, and I just love the looks as well.

6.) Ferrari F40

I shall not say anything, except for JUST LOOK AT IT.

7.) Lamborghini Miura

8.) Ford Mustang GT350R

I like Mustangs, and this one is my favorite by about 13 miles. That engine note is simply ungodly. What else do you need when you've got, well, this?

9.) Range Rover SV Autobiography

If you're going to go big, British, and an SUV, it's got to be this. (Or the Jaguar F-Pace I was going to put instead of this.)

10.) Honda/Acura Intergra Type-R

The epitome of the FWD driver's car. Looks greats, sounds great, drives great, I want it. Being Japanese, it's not hopelessly impractical as well.

I think my list is a bit biased...

1. The daily wagon: Porsche Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo . (Was originally going to choose the RS6, but the Sport Turismo won me over with it's looks)

2. The personal GT car: Lexus LC500 (With the TRD exterior bits)

3. The classic: Toyota 2000GT (Could have it sit in the living room and stare at it all day)

4. The offroader/overlander: Toyota Land Cruiser (Probably for overlanding, or an Arctic Trucks Hilux)

5. The shuttle. Either a Sprinter or V-Class, though without any real exterior mods. (For when I'd prefer to be driven around. A long wheelbase Bentley or Rolls is great and all, but I like having room overhead too.)

Why get driven around in a sedan when a van is so much more spacious.

6. The supercar: Lexus LFA (In pearl blue preferably)

7. The showcar/cruiser: MS60 series Toyota Crown. Most likely the wagon, but I still have my sedan that I'd like to finish... (Something I could just take a calm cruise around town in and bring to local shows.)

8. The backroad bomber: Porsche 911 GT3 991.1 (Despite the 991.2 supposedly being a better car, I can't get over how much I love the looks of the 991.1 GT3 in this combo of white with grey wheels)

9. The track toy: Caterham 7 (Anyone of them will do. For some reason I prefer them over the Atom)

10. The rally toy: Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205 (If we have the money to own all these cars, why not build a dirt playground in the backyard)

I almost wanted to add a kei car as part of the list as a city runabout. But...if you have the money, just get dropped off by your shuttle instead of worrying about a parking space.

My personal top 10, in order from least to most favorite.

10) 1999 Ferrari 360 Modena

This has always been my favorite Ferrari since I could remember. Obviously styling's subjective, but I find this car to be mesmerizing in aesthetics.

9) 2004 Porsche Carrera GT

Considered by many to one of the last great analogue super cars, the Porsche Carrera is an all time favorite of mine. Mix seductive and distinct styling with a screaming V10 and you have instant greatness. (In my book, anyway.)

8) 2017 Chevrolet Camaro

I just adore the looks of this beast. So far you can probably tell I pick my favorites based off of how they appeal to me aesthetically. I have a thing for design.

7) 2015 Dodge Challenger 392 HEMI

This is an American muscle car in every sense of the word. It's big, heavy, powerful, and fast in a straight line. Plus it looks badass, so there's that.

6) 1996 Nissan Skyline GT-R (R33)

My all-time favorite Skyline. Of course it's a GT-R and it's JDM, which makes it cool, I suppose. Ironically, it's the least-liked GT-R by many, but this is a real looker to me. A must have in my dream garage.

5) 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback

Such an iconic piece of American automotive history. The first and most successful pony car; how couldn't I include the Mustang?

4) 1999 Toyota Chaser Tourer V

The underlying cool factor to this car is strong with me. Every since GT5 with the TOM'S Chaser, I've been in love with this badass sedan. By far my favorite saloon ever.

3) 2001 Lamborghini Diablo 6.0

The last iteration of a decade old supercar, and to me, the most beatiful. Of course it must be mentioned that this car used the 300ZX headlights; but that's what I find he most striking about this car. Such a dazzling machine, this is.

2) 2012 SRT Viper GTS

The last generation of an iconic, yet dying American supercar. Sure it's outdated in technology and over priced compared to its brotheren, however you can't get a Challenegr with a beastly V10, hm?

1) 1997 Toyota Supra RZ

Call me a band-wagoner, a dude-bro, a F&F Fanboy, whatever you please. Quite frankly, I don't care. This is my all-time favorite car, and the only car I'd take over any supercar, any time any circumstance whatsoever.

And there's my top 10. Logically probably not the best list to live with, but what's the fun in that?

This is a little thought experiment I came up with recently. What if you only got 10 cars to last you the rest of your life? Any ten cars you want, but you don't get any other cars ever. How would you chose your ten? If you're a Mustang guy, you could easily just choose your ten favorite Mustangs and be done with it. Or maybe the R34 Nissan GT-R is the only car you've ever cared about. You could get ten of them. Maybe you want some variety so you get one car from ten different companies. Or ten different countries. Maybe you're into the history of cars so you get one car from each of the last ten decades. Or you're more practical and you get ten different types of cars so you have something for every situation. Maybe you get one sensible reliable Japanese sedan and nine of your favorite hyper cars? Or you just pick the ten cars you most love in the world. Yes, concept and custom cars are allowed, but only if they still exist in running condition. Sorry, Mazda Furai fans. Take your beef up with Top Gear. But remember, no other cars ever. That means if you're 20 now, by the time you're 90, your newest car will be 70 years old. What would be your ten cars? 1966 International Scout 800. Gotta have an off-roader.


1959 Lancia Appia GTE Zagato. Classic Italian beauty with a 1100cc narrow-angle V4.


1957 VW Ghia-Aigle. Only one made, but it's a beauty and fulfills my need for one air-cooled VW.


1938 Peugeot 402 Darl-Mat Coupe by Pourtout. France in the late-'30s produced some of the most gorgeous art deco cars ever. This is my favorite.


1956 Moretti Gran Sport. I've already got the Lancia, what do I need the even smaller 750cc Moretti for? Look at it. It's gorgeous.



1926 Kissel 8-75 Speedster aka Gold Bug. I've always loved American roadsters of the Roaring '20s, and Kissel has long been my favorite among them.


1972 Chrysler Valiant VH Charger. I have to have a muscle car, and the Valiant Charger with the inline Hemi-6 from Down Under remains one of my dream cars.


2015 Morgan 4/4. Yes, this is my modern car. I prefer the basic 4/4 simply because it comes with the skinniest tires. You may not believe it, but skinnier tires make for more enjoyable driving.


1969 Isuzu Bellett GT-R. I've been in love with the Bellett GT-R since it appeared in GT4.


1954 Ford Comete. Such a lovely, elegant car.

So in the end, I went with ten cars I really like with no rhyme or reason.

I have to redo my list. I just didn't give enough thought the first time through. If I'm going to enjoy a thoroughly well-rounded automotive life with only ten cars, then I've got to broaden my horizons, and I've got to have a hot rod and a custom. So here is my new list with some familiar faces, and some new friends:

Hot Rod - 1927 Ford Model T Roadster. I would want it in a very traditional style, much like this. This is built by Pete Chapouris and it is just about perfect. The only changes I would make to it to make it more mine is I would put on wheels from a mid-'30s Plymouth and lengthen the frame so I could put a Buick straight-8 in it instead of the more common Ford flathead V8 or Chevy small block V8.


Custom - 1954 Chevy. Sorry this picture is so small, but it's the only picture of this specific car I've seen online. To me, this is a perfect hot rod. Beautiful stance, Great simple red flames over a white exterior, Radir wheels with whitewalls. To power it, I would pull the old Stovebolt 6 and replace it with a modern Atlas LL8 inline-6 as used in several GM trucks and SUVs between 2002 and 2009.


Sports Car - 2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata. It took me a long time to decide what my sports car would be, but I finally settled on the Miata as the ideal the sports car for my needs. Light, fun, quick, and reliable. Give me the pre-facelift NC, please.


Muscle Car - 1969 AMC Big Bad Yellow Javelin. I've always loved the Javelin, especially the Big Bad cars. They came in blue, orange and green, but I think they would look best in yellow, so I would create one. A 390 V-8 and a 4-speed manual transmission would round it out.


Lancia - 1969 Lancia Fulvia HF1.6 Rallye (Fanalone). I love Lancia as much as I love VW, so I need to have one. But which one? There are so many that are beautiful or technically advanced, or just plain fun. I decided to swap out the Appia Sport Zagato for the Fanalone. It's the one to have when you can have only one.


VW - 1957 VW Ghia-Aigle. I'm a lifelong VW fan, so I have to have one. I'm keeping Ghia-Aigle on my list for the same reasons as before: unique (only one made), air-cooled, coach-built.


Porsche - 1959 754 Typ 7 prototype. Porsche explored the idea of introducing a 4-seater GT coupe to go alongside the 356 sports car. The 754 was built, but in the end, Ferry Porsche decided the Porsche company should remain a sports car only company. It's a shame. The 754, besides previewing the look of the 911, especially in the front, would have opened up more markets for Porsche. I'm sure it would have been a hit. Thankfully the one 754 built has been preserved, and in fact was completely restored just a few years ago.


1920s Anerican Roadster - 1926 Kissel 8-75 Speedster. I'm keeping the Gold Bug. I still need an American roadster from the 1920s to live out my Great Gatsby fantasies.


1930s French Art Deco Rolling Sculpture - 1938 Peugeot 402 Darl-Mat Coupe by Pourtout. Think of all the amazing cars produced in France in the latter half of the 1930s, truly works of automotive art: Bugatti, Talbot-Lago, Delahaye, Delage, Voisin, and so many more, from boutique builders to mass producers, France simply excelled at automotive design in the 1930s. This is my favorite.

Nostalgic Hero - Isuzu Bellett GT-R. Nostalgic Hero is the name of a Japanese car magazine that is dedicated to the preservation and documentation of the history of Japan's automotive history. The Isuzu Bellett GT-R is my Nostalgic Hero and has been ever since I discovered it thanks to GT4.


So I guess this means you can change your list if you want to. It's all just for fun, after all.

Although I do find it weird that people are picking a list of ten with five or more vehicles that largely occupy the same sector. Surely every time you walked outside to the five+ extremely similar cars, there'd always be one (or two at most) that you'd favour, leaving the others pretty much undriven - so why not put three different cars in there that would get driven?

Time to amend my list with some more mature and rational thinking. But in lieu of that here's what I'd choose now. I've tried to pick cars that I wouldn't tire of and wouldn't stop wanting to drive. Some of that is ensuring the cars don't step on each others' toes, and some of that is making sure that they're not just the latest, greatest, or fastest since that's something that won't last a lifetime.

1. 911R/GT3 Touring

It's a new car, which I'm wary of including on this list, but I really think that this is a car that will stand the test of time. It's not trying to be the fastest, or the techiest, or even the rawest. It's simply trying to be the best to drive. I'd have a non-touring GT3 with a manual, too, but I prefer the look of the touring. It's a car that I'd feel happy tracking, hard, but still happy to drive home in.

2. Ferrari F40

I don't think I need to say anything more.

3. Lamborghini Miura SV

Beautiful and supposedly pretty thrilling to drive.

4. Aston Martin V12 Vantage S

I just want one.

5. Toyota Land Cruiser (AKA Lexus LX570)

I had a Range Rover in mind for this but I figure that the LX will age better given that it's not quite as luxurious or tech-laden (and it won't break, unlike the RR). At some point in this hypothetical life I'm going to want to tow something, perhaps even one of the other cars here. It'll do this well and has the added bonus of being able to go anywhere wide enough to fit it while carrying 7 people. I figure that if any of my other cars can't handle something, this probably can. I'd have the petrol V8, because why not.

6. 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429

I think I'm going to want a classic muscle car. There's nothing quite like them, and they're a very different sort of fun than, say, an F40. The Boss 429 would probably be my pick but I'm still a little indecisive. There are so many good options!

7. Lotus Elise 111R

I'd like something small, light, and fun to chuck around, and I think an Elise would be perfect.

8. Bentley Brooklands

I'd like a reasonably modern luxury car for a variety of more sensible reasons. I'm not sure it gets better than this when it comes to a combination of ability and charisma.

9. Duesenberg SJ

For when an Escalade just isn't gangster enough, there's the Duesenberg. One of the greatest cars of the '30s in my opinion, even if it's not as crazy to look at as, say, a Saoutchik Delahaye.

10. Citroen SM

There's nothing quite like a hydropneumatic Citroen and I think the SM would be a welcome addition to the garage. It's pretty different and very laid back as well as extremely cool.
