12 player + online room lag

Over the last week any room at 12 players or over becomes nigh on unplayable with most of the rooms players getting huge lag, before i get any of the usual supects saying its my connection, i can assure u it isnt, i use my connection for lots of other online games and simply dont get lag anywhere else, last night i used the speed test function on the PS3 to check my connection speeds, i ran it 4 times the lowest i got was got 39 mg down and 3.9mg up.

PD's crappy internet routines and thier messed up pier to pier connection system seriously needs sorting as racing in a league is going to be impossible if it stays as it is, id swap the latest update and the dlc for really good online stability all day long.

But rather than just moan about it I really wanted to know if its just the guys in my league that are seeing the connections go down the toilet or if everyone is noticing the increased lag ?

I agree with you there, there is a lot of lag. Add that to the lost connection problems and people not appearing on track problems, it's very annoying.

P.s- wow 39mb download i rarely above 3.5mb, you must have fiber optics?

I limit my room to 8 players or we get terrible lag.

Sony needs to address this issue as it really sucks when you are supposed to be able to run 16 racers at a time.

The problem is horrible. Myself and others are getting black screens, kicked from rooms for no reason, seeing people with loading lines and lag. Someone made the comment last night that they would rather have the "start start" issue rather than the black screens. The issue is much worse after the 2.02 update and maintenance.

I think the only way it's going to be fixed is if people quit buying dlc packs. That's the only way they are going to take us seriously.

The online racing issues should be high priority and fixed ASAP.

There are some nights when I keep getting disconnected from the server. Any one know why I can't see one of my friends who uses the same broadband provider. When I try to enter his room, I get an error or 557 or 577 saying incompatable server connection. This problem only started about 3 week ago. Any help appreciated.

I have been running a 15-16 driver room on sundays for 28 weeks now and apart from individuals disconnecting occasionally (I guess incompatibility as its normally same ones) I didnt notice major problems until last week. After careful consideration I am thinking it is either the DLC release combined with all the people off school/work trying to play online at the same time or update 2.02 has caused a bug. I seriously hope its the first one and things will return to normal soon.

This problem has been lurking since 2.00, but got really bad in 2.02. I can deal with the occasional lag-bomb, but when the physics get screwed up in the large rooms and you lose all traction, your screwed. There were times were I couldn't get within 5 sec of a quali time I pounded out 2-3 straight laps 3 minutes earlier.
